That is brilliant!
MidnightBliss:
PREORDERED!!!!! I was already thinking of getting one then, this. Makes me even more excited for what they are planning. My wallet however, is just about to get a spanking.
Deonasis:
If this is too expensive for your budget just display it in invisible mode.
Dremare:
What the-!? How the-!? How is this possible?!

The fact we couldn't even tell it was THERE, and that it doesn't impact all the other modes one whit show the unbelievable level of thoughtfulness they put into their product.
Hasbro, you need to hire these guys, or give them a license to make TF related products, or somehow endorse them. These people are insane, and in a good way. | Quoted cause I couldn't say it better.
I don't think I have seen anything Fansproject has put out that has been less than amazing in quality.
Only disagreement I have is while I'd love to see Fansproject take on a license for TF Products, Hasbro has a way of consuming small companies with great ideas and great quality. Mass production runs for big box stores and the corporate restraints and management cronies that "don't get it" would probably force these guys into sacrificing some of what makes them so incredible.
I'm just as happy to see them make their own line of "inspired" transforming figures and accessories, and don't mind paying the extra for all the hard work they do.
Smasher:
I seriously had to examine the picture on the left before I got it.
Fansproject seems to have gotten everything right with this.
I hope they make enough to keep up with the demand.

The reason why FansProject can make such awesome stuff is because they have no constraints. If Hasbro were to have anything to do with them there'd be so many limits to anything they come up with they wouldn't be anywhere near as awesome as they are right now.
MushroomPrime:
That's actually pretty neat.
Paxtin:
It actually took me a minuet to get the concept behind this. I was like: "Stealth mode, huh? So why would Prime's trailer need a stealth mo-Oooh!....That's clever.
It's seriously one of those things that makes you go: "Why didn't I think of that?"

Seriously though, this is ingenious, I give this . | So Prime is just a hack magician then? That just ruins it for me for life..
c717905:
I had already pre-ordered this as soon as I saw it on TFSource. With this addition of the Stealth mode, I am absolutely amazed at the ingenuity and thought put into something so simple as a trailer... a freaking trailer!!!!!
I am soooooo gonna be FanProjects bitch from now on (I already have City Commander (Ultra Magnus) and Shadow Commander (Scourge), bring on Protector (Rodimus), Defender (Springer), Collector (Wreckgar), and anything else they feel like making (man I even love these names)).
I am incredibly impressed by them and the quality of their work.
BustaJesse:
Glad I already had this pre ordered, this makes it even sweeter.
G1Wheeljack: That's awesome, I never would have thought of them doing something like that. Not going to get it b/c if the price plus I have no real place to put it, but still an outstanding job Incepticon:
I love ideas like this: deceivingly simple yet undeniably brilliant. After reading their interview over @ Seibertron where they said that they managed to do away with the subspace nonsense while still explaining the 'disappearance', and now seeing what they were talking about... I'm in complete awe. I was already sold on this thing when I saw how they gave Roller his own little storage bay and generally modified the interior instead of just doing another boring G1 recreation, but this additional gimmick just put it over the top. 100% pre-ordered & bought.
TheBigMachine:
Great, FansProject just made me their biatch for life. It's not like it's not bad enough getting Hasbro's stuff, select Takara stuff, Botcon/Other convention exclusive stuff and filling in the holes in my collection from Ebay. Now THIS!!? Seriously, these guys are awesome. I'm going to have to be very selective on what I get from the ROTF line to save up for these guys. You'd think Takara/Hasbro, seeing FP's success, could start a limited release line of specialty items like these for adult collectors to be released online...wait, what am I saying...never mind, I couldn't afford it, please disregard that last part.

PB379:
Very cleverly done!
Automorpher:
Any updates on the production number?
Last we heard that "This piece will be much more limited than the City Commander set!"

Otherwise another impressive job from FP.
WarMachine73:
Mirage probably knew where the trailer was the whole time and just wasn't saying anything. Hell, he was probably IN the trailer which is WHY he wasn't saying anything.
It's always awsome to see how something so simple in concept and execution can be so overlooked for so long and then have mind-blowing results once it is finally employed.
Fansproject Rocks and Hasbro...just...got...SERVED!!! TinManA.H.:
Hmmm...so, it turns into a vanity for the Autobots an that makes it worth 80 bucks?
J/K - that is a funny joke to make the trailer "vanish", but I would have been sold if the trailer turned into something useful, like armor. I never liked the original trailer, it never did anything. Now, if that Roller actually transforms into a little bot, then I will have to buy one. Otherwise, it's just abig chunk of plastic that will get put in storage with all the other non-armor based trailers. But, FP, you guys absolutely rock with the Ultra Magnus armor and the new figures you've previewed!!
LightningZERO:
That's awesome beyond words!
tikgnat:
Awesome. At first I thought this was some limited run version of the FP trailer, but no, its a feature on the standard FP trailer?
Man I'm so glad I already preordered this a week ago, the day the TFsource preorder came up.
I can't wait.
taterx:
Just wow! Already in my pile o loot, but this makes me even more happy that I preordered.

REDLINE:
finally.... and this is a pretty cool idea. I'm curious what the material is they're using. Wonder if it's like a chrome foil or something. Clearly it's quite reflective, whatever it is. love it.
RHansen:
it was like actual little mirrors from when I saw them in person
influence82:
The stealth mode occurs in the cartoon when Optimus Prime transforms into a robot. When he does, the trailer goes away and enters stealth mode. When Optimus Prime transforms and rolls out into a truck, the trailer turns off stealth mode and attaches back to the cab. That is why the cartoon never showed the trailer when Optimus Prime was in robot mode.
That is the only way I can justify the stealth mode as it relates to G1. But then again, this is G3.
Sixshot:
Just preordered it. That's slick.
Rattrap Primal:
just preordered it. Prime needs his trailer!

(that of Powered Convoy & Shadow Commander respectively.)
Its scary finding every other upcoming products produced in "Limited Numbers" in turn meaning that Collectors must lose an arm or a leg or BOTH in order to own one of these.
These "numbered" things seems to be the trend nowadays. Venksta: Quote:

These "numbered" things seems to be the trend nowadays. | Shadow Commander was suppose to be half of CC's run. 1000 pieces isn't even near half. Unless preorders run out soon, these aren't very limited, like 500-1000 pieces. Also, saying G3 is more limited to City Commander means squat, unless FP comes out and tells everyone the actual production run for City Commander, which they won't. So because of that, fans will think G3 could be 50 pieces or even 5000 pieces, since there is no number to go by.
NotoriousBIC:
Pre-ordered immediately after seeing this feature. Can't wait to get it.
Scantron:
It's a creative extra feature, but I don't think the result looks very good. Not the kind of thing that would sway my decision on buying it one way or the other, though (I'm passing due to the price).
n_tel_ekt:
This may be a dumb question, but any particular reason their calling it "G3" trailer? Never heard the term G3 til this came. Skool me, o sages!

0R10N P4X:
Stealth mode? LOL! I can already see birds smashing into that thing.
BlindWolf:
well thats pretty kool, explains how it always "disappeared"
still i prefer bbts's version, more modern design

At least that was the information as provided by the toy shops that were doing the pre-orders back then.
influence82:
Saying production will be more limited is a marketing technique designed to increase demand and boost sales. Shadow Commander was claimed to be more limited the same way. Of course, not as many people would like to upgrade Nemesis Prime as they did Ultra Magnus, which is why it is still available in some places. They could decrease the production numbers by 1 and still be telling the truth. I have the first 2 commander trailers so I am fine with that.
As stated before G3 would stand for Generation 3, which is a good name to call the Classic Series.

Shadow Commander - 1000
Powered Commander - 500
Those are the release numbers I've seen tossed around repeatedly. They actually are limited compared to previous releases. Why FP would make them limited is a mystery. Clearly there is quite a bit of demand still. I'm hoping they screw the pooch and put out more Powered Commanders so the "fans" that still want one can get one for less than $300.
OptionZero:
As a new company they would probably rather create less supply than demand and guarantee they sell everything rather than produce too many, not sell them, and lose money.
Plus it builds up demand for future products:"damn, i missed out on city commander! i better pre-order Protector asap!"
I missed out on City Commander, still saving up for the hiked up prices; caved in and got Nemmy prime and Shadow Commander instead for now; caved in more and pre-ordered the G3 trailer.
and so it goes

If they don't bother producing more Botcon exclusives, then they should not do more TFCon exclusives either. You snooze, you lose.
Radioactive Ravage:
For a second I looked at the pic and was like, "Oh... it's just a clear version of the trailer."
And then I went HOLY SHIT.
This is an amazing way to explain the disappearing trailer. So fun of win that I'm going to HAVE to buy it now.
clonemanager:
Accidentally the initial FP somehow misled me to think Fun Publication ?!!? Did they make that ?
OH NO WAY!! My mind thought... They don't make awesome thing like this , do they.
Fans Project indeed ... Awesome !! Awesome toy/accessories... order to order it without a second thought.
