Comic-Con Exclusive Classics Nemesis Prime Confirmed Comic_Con-Nemesis-Prime02
TFW2005 has received confirmation that a Transformers Classics Nemesis Prime toy will be offered at SDCC (San Diego Comic-Con) this summer. Expect it to be a black repaint of the Transformers Classics Optimus Prime figure and for it to sell incredibly well.

Well, I've got the Prime and Magnus versions of this mold, so I'll probably get Nemesis, too. I'm still hoping that Titanium WW Grimlock or WW Prowl will be SDCC exclusives. But, probably not.

Now THAT I could go for also, too bad it'll never happen though.

What faint pulse? Alt Rodimus was at last years SDCC and we've been going 7 months without one. I doubt there's any hope for them at this point. But I also hope I'm wrong.
bigkid24:
Isn't it a little early for them to start showing exclusives for SDCC now? Anyway looks fake but if it's true I'll bite and buy it. Still a great mold and a decent paint scheme.

Makes senses that the more popular Nemesis scheme is used for SDCC which caters to a larger population than Botcon does.
Railguard:
It looks cool and all but I will not be purchasing this item. Pass...sorry.
CANNABIS PRIME:
Nice find KA!

If true, they'll prolly name him Menasor. I'm really hoping they give us another ALT too. Frenzy, Steeljaw, I'll even take another Vette retool!
Tman978:
Nemesis Prime is boring. Give me the TakTomy colored Prime for $25.

There's no gaurentee that we wont get an Alternators exclusive. Last year there were more than on exclusive TF. .
Kupp:
Well if that pic is real, I like it better than the BotCon Version.
Sonscreen:
Nifty but not unexpected.

FP has said in the past they can't produce Exclusives based on Alts. Similar to the movie line which seems to be off-limits for Botcon, due to licensing costs.

That's what I thought as well. Even before Toy Fair, and we get a SDCC Exclusive rumor? Too early IMO.

Could be true though.

Laser_Optimus:
Well, maybe it's real or maybe it's not. I know I'd buy one though as I think that this mold would look really good in the Nemesis/Scourge color scheme.
BigRC83:
Has anybody considered that a Movie Voyager Skywarp could be in order? Hasbro already released a G1 accurate Starscream and a Thundercracker. It only makes sense that a Skywarp would be next.

It makes sense but why then did they do Rodimus for SDCC last year?

Not a FP exclusive. It was produced directly by Hasbro and in higher numbers.

NGW:
If this is the real deal, I'll pick him up while I'm at SDCC this year...though it won't be high on my list of priorities.
Kranix2k:
So...they take a Hasbro stock photo of Classic prime and basically grey scale it, then they slap a SDCC symbol on it and we're supposed to believe that its the real deal? Okie dey there pally boy....let me know when we have something legitimate to go on.
Omegatron1:
I wouldn't mind one at the reasonable prices Titanium Menasor went for, but wouldn't pay Alt. Rodimus prices for it. And, as earlier posters have pointed out, there's nothing to stop Hasbro from doing 2 exclusives, unless they think that's why they had so many Menasors left over last year.
optimus major:
Damn It!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bad Bad Bad Bad, Damn Damn Damn Damn, Enough With Convention Classics, It Makes Me Want To Cry Cause I Want Them!!!!!!!!!!!
SPLIT LIP:
Lame if true. I kinda hoped for another Alt repaint, too.

I think the misunderstanding lies in me not knowing what FP is.

Oh, sorry about that. FP is Fun Publications, the current holders of the license from Hasbro for Transformers Collectors Club and Convention. They're the organizers of Botcon.

In the case of last year's SDCC Exclusives, those were actually developed directly by Hasbro, produced in higher numbers than a Botcon exclusive but probably in fewer quantities than a store exclusive, and sold through Hasbro Toy Shop (they were in fact Hasbro Toy Shop Exclusives that debuted on SDCC).

OTOH, Botcon exclusives are developed by FP, with Hasbro's final approval. If the toys get a remolded piece, FP owns the mold for said piece. They're produced in fewer quantities than SDCC Exclusives (generally around 1000 pieces). Since they're produced in fewer numbers, and have new tooling directly developed by a licensee, they fetch a higher price and are harder to find than other exclusives. Also, I don't know if it's due to the deal FP has with Hasbro, or just because additional expenses in licensing actual real life vehicle modes, they've said they're not allowed to produce toys from the Movie or Alternators lines.

Rayzilla Prime:
That's just a black 'n white picture of Classics Optimus from the back of his box. Nemesis Prime would have red on him. This could either be just a truckload (no pun inteneded) o' nothing, or it's a teaser picture for what is yet to come.

I'm not enthusiastic about it anyway.
spyderbytez:
Bah.. i was hoping for an alt exclusive... if theres no alts @SDCC 2008 i may have to pass the whole convention this year.
Victorysabre:
Huh, if this thing comes out, I'll go for it if I can get it around the original con price. Not gonna pay out the nose for it, but it'd be neat to get if I can. The mold is cool enough for multiple buys.
MicroCracker:
Personally, I hate alternators (just because they were impossible to find anywhere after Meister) So I'd be glad if they don't do an exclusive based on that line. then again, if they DID, it'd just be one less thing I'd have to buy.

They shouldn't. While it is the same mold, the Botcon Prime will undoubtedly be much more detailed looking than the Nemesis Prime, what with all the battle damage and weathering effects. Not to mention that's not the only toy they'll be getting.

As for this rumor, I'd say there's a very good chance it's true. Hasbro's probably just gonna piggyback their run of Nemesis Primes on the Botcon one since the mold's in use. Definitely gonna have to get one. I'm a sucker for Scourges/Evil Primes, and I just love the mold. So it's a win-win.
Ravenxl7:
I'd be cool with this, and depending on how much extra cash I have at the time, I might even buy one. I'm thinking about getting an Ultra Magnus, as I never did get one (was able to get 2 Skywarps off of board members though). I was never a fan of the Alternator line, so it doesn't bother me that, as of now, there isn't an exclusive one this year. I'm honestly glad the line is dead. I'd rather get more Classics than see more of them on shelves collecting dust (they never did sell well around here).

Aside from the fact that "Menasor" was LAAAAAAAAMMMMEEE.

The whole Titanium line itself was lame. Today's plastic joints and classic die cast just do not mix! Like oil and water.
Feralstorm:
If the rumor's true, I'll probably go after it if it looks decent enough (regardless of the fact that I'm already getting the Botcon set). If I can't (or decide I don't like it), No loss. I've already got a "Classics Nemesis Prime", which is actually Kay-Bee exclusive Destructicon Scourge. Nice toy, aside from the proclivity to fall backward.
Pravus Prime:
I liked Tit Menasor. Though he was just an Evil Rodimus to me.

As for the idea, yeah, I'd go for that. I, like many others, do like the "evil" Primes. Got a nice collection going.
Wyvern:
My local comic convention is gonna have an awesome nemesis prime exclusive? I'm in!! x2

unless I'm mistaken, the first time we saw the first SDCC exclusive (the Alternators version of this guy) was also a grayscaled, low res picture of Alt Prime, and was even given the odd listing of TRANEMESIS PRIME on Action HQ's preorder.

I mentioned earlier that I use RiD Scourge as Classics Nemesis. I use the Hero Scourge as "Run-Over," who's sort of like Prime's Roller for Scourge (with his name blatantly stolen from Armada Nemesis' mini-con)
Predaking:
If the rumor's true then for sure I'll be getting myself one or maybe two. I am a sucker for all things Nemesis Prime. Own 2 of RiD Scourge and Alt Nemesis Prime, along with Black Big Convoy, Black Lio Convoy, Armada Nemesis Prime, and Spychanger Nemesis Prime. If I can get Galaxy Quest PM Prime and black G1 Prime then I'm set.
The Spider:
Hey, what would the Shattered Glass mirror counterpart of Nemesis Prime be like?

If it's true, cool, I'll get it. I hope the final version has red windows, though.

I also hope they have another Alt exclusive this year.. Frenzy, Steeljaw, WHOEVER - it will be mine. Alt Megatron would be nice.
Optimus747:
Hm, seems like they added teal paint apps to the pic now.

(checks) Hey, you're right! That's FANTASTILAME!

so far we've got what is basically a black and white photo of Classics Prime, now with crudely added teal highlights. I'm actually interested in a Nemesis Prime on the Classics mold (actually I prefer the RiD Scourge color model with the silver "angry shapes" over the shoulders and chest), but if it looks ANYTHING like that super-half-assed image, I'll be passing faster than passing should happen.
Archatron:
i can get those Scourges. This one I want bad.
KA:
oh shit theyre on to us, dudes changed the description of the post
SmokescreenGT:
Nice to see they added the teal color in there. Makes the figure look more like Nemesis Prime than before.
Kupp:
SDCC Prime Superior, Botcon Prime Inferior. Well this makes me a happy camper, to say the least.

Now I'll just have to pay through the nose for it, but alas it looks damn cool and will fit in with the Classics moreso than what we are seeing at Botcon.
$5HotRod:
The way it looks now is fantastic, IMHO, and I'll be sure to get one. No red/pink windows FTW! Hopefully, it stays that way.
KING KONVOY:
Oh Yes! I will get two! Its definitely superior to Botcon Prime.
Red leader:
I like the ghey pink windows! .............sulks
