Throw in some sweet commentary and cast interviews and I'd hit it harder than Kurt Cobain hit that needle.
Lumpy:
who are all the other pre beast characters made of?
ps...by joining the club, you get an exclusive toy, and 6 issues a year that have awesome stuff, like an exlcusive comic, and first looks at toys....its worth the money....this is just an added bonus....

Yeah, cool as this is I wouldn't join just for this... there's so much more that you get with your membership.

I don't know about the other guy, but I am NOT paying 89 dollar a year for another brainless Universe comic, first looks that are posted on some websites anyway, the right to buy overpriced figures and for a magazine that only comes out 6 times a year. Not worth it, IMO. At least stuff like this is a step in the right direction of improving it.

kewl!

Eh, honestly I don't think it's a good deal for international members and I never have. For peeps in the US, I think it's a good deal and you get what you pay for.
Kaijumaster:
OK! Seriously Beast wars was ELEVEN years ago, why can we not seem to be able to make CGI at least that good on anything anymore?
I mean it looks good, but it looks like this CGI short I saw on bigbot like back in 99' surely the people who are making this have the ability to do better than an 8 year old fan-short.

For $89 a year, I disagree. Damn near twice as much as in the US, poor value for money IMO.
IamPRIMUS:
You know, I hate to be nitpicky, but I think the short is kinda flawed in the Beast Wars story. David Kaye doesn't really sound like the Megatron I had gotten used too. And 2, the Golden Disk looks more like the alien Vok Disk rather than the Voyager Disk that looked smooth. But I guess that's just me.
Aaron:
Looks good. Though I'm hoping that wasn't Megatron that was talking and was Cryotek instead...

Brodimus Prime:
Wait a minute...EIGHT?!?! According to the Golden Disk theft report there were six Predacons (Megatron, Dinobot, Scorponok, Terrorsaur, Tarantulus, and Waspinator). Who are the other two? Blackarachnia and Inferno were Maximal protoforms.
BTW, I'm sort of "meh" on the animation. I had the BotCon comic from 06, so it's no big deal. But it's always nice to see BW get some love.

From what I remember, it was Cryoteks idea to steal the golden disk, so there's seven. Still don't know who the eighth would be. Can't wait for the Publix inventory bonus on the 20th. That'll really help pay for a membership (Been planning to join for a while)
Wait! No Scott McNeil?! WTF??!

We tried to get Scott, but he doesn't have a studio-quality recording setup in his house. David Does.

Seeing as I probably made said CGI short, I can tell you we've gotten a lot better in the intervening eight years. In fact, if you want to compare the original Theft Fanfilm with the trailer for the Official Theft of the Golden Disk, you can do so easily from the comfort of your own home.

All eight of the core criminals are shown in rapid succession during the trailer. Cyberwolf is right, Cryotek is one. It makes sense that Cryotek would have some loyal minions of his own as well.

That wouldn't be David, that'd be Brad Venable doing Cryotek.

ThomasMaximus2:
Trailer looked kinda crummy. Looks good over all tho
Tfgraveyard:
Looks nice, but still not enough to make me want to join the club.
Arcee:
I must have somehow missed this at Botcon.
Sso02V:
It can be as official as all get-out, but I'll never be a fan of backhoe Dinobot. It just doesn't work for me.
unicron's blues:
Is this able to download or just view on the club site?
Johnator:
Speaking of the Club I joined to get the Botcon set this last summer. Any idea when the free figure will be sent out or what it is? Thanks.
Railguard:
Sorry, I'm not going to spend, what is it...80 dollars or whatever it is to join the Collectors club when I can go out to my local Walmart or Toys R Us and spend 80 or more on the Transformers stuff in the store. Here that Hasbro!!! Put the toys in the store and I will buy them, you wont, neither will I.

You'd only have to pay about half that to join.
CrockAlley:
Cryotek (compared to Megatron), and who's this other guy?
Edit: is that Beast Wars II Dirge?
Storm:
scorponok is shortround. Looking really good and it looks like there's some Cryotek voice work in there.
i could tell the molds for all the figs they're based upon apart from Tarantulas.
it has also convinced me to get a movie airraid figure to become pre earth terrorsaur
80Datsun210:
It looks cool! Makes me want to watch Beast Wars again, and Beast Machines too. Couple more days and I'll finally be on winter break with something like actual free time.
Omegatron1:
I'm looking forward to this. I had no idea it was coming, and think it's a great perk for being part of the club. Membership seems to be a better value every year.
On the international topic- could a UK fan sign up for a membership, give a US friend's address, pay the lower rate, and just have the US friend mail the toy ? I think it'd be cheaper than overseas membership.
Wristblade:
Was that Cryotek and BWII Dirge I thought I saw in the trailer?
Gears:
Holy crap looks awesome!
Kaijumaster:
to re-phrase my previous statments I'm not saying the animation in this short is bad, far from it. I just get frustrated by CGI as a whole. at 11 years old BW should look like crap comparitivly to whats on TV today....but it doesn't, it still stands tall and It boggles my mind that an 11 year old TV show looks so much better than what currently being produced on normal TV....

Mainframe, at its height, was a real innovator and had some fantastic talent and technology at its disposal. Comparing that to what was integrated into, say, Energon, is bound to leave one flustered.
-Trent
Storm:
i'm suprised Mainframe weren't approachedto do this actually (or were they?)
