Transformers Animated Two Packs News and Bios, plus Voyager Wave 4 Case Ratios BA-VS-Optimus
2005 Boards Sponsor Red Leader of Kapow Toys has shared some information with us about the upcoming Transformers Animated Two Packs, which we previously reported on. The sets are going to be Wal-Mart exclusives, possibly Black Friday exclusives in the same vein as the previous Transformers Cybertron two packs. Also confirmed is that the Optimus Prime and Megatron included in the two sets will be the same as their original two pack release - battle damage and all. Last but certainly not least, Red Leader has also posted the on-package bios for both sets, which you can read by clicking on the title of this story.

In other news, Transformers Animated Voyager Class Wave 4 is due out at the end of the month, or possibly early November, and will be made up of 2 x Skywarps and 2 x Shockwaves to a case! So hopefully, there will be plenty to go around once these hit store shelves.

Red leader:
Just an update on the Animated Megatron / Prowl - Prime / Blackarachnia 2 Packs, they are set to be a Walmart exclusive value pack and should retail for $19.99 each

They are called the following

1) Prime / BA Pack = The Revenge Of Blackarachnia
2) Megatron / Prowl = Battle In Space

Both come on a very large, double thick backer with a single devided bubble holding the figures and the battle damage is confirmed on both Prime and Megatron.

The figures appear to coincide with the wave 4 animated releases as Sentinel Prime and Swoop are on the back of the packet,

For those that are interested here are the story's printed on the back of each pack

The Revenge of Blackarachnia

Long ago Optimus Prime was forced to abandon Blackarachnia in the caverns beneath the surface of an alien world. There she found herself surrounded by a terrifying horde of bizarre spiders and she was forced to reformat herself based on the strange organism to survive. The experience twisted her and drove her away from the autobots and left her with an undying desire for revenge on the former ally who left her to her fate. She has come to earth in search of Optimus Prime and she will not stop until she has destroyed him and everything he holds dear.

Battle In Space

In Space over a strange alien world Megatron carves his way through the hull of the autobot spaceship with his fusion cannon. Inside Prowl and his fellow autobots wait, knowing there is very little chance of defeating the Decepticon leader in a fight. Prowl knows his only chance is through stealth and skill. When it comes time to meet the mighty Megatron in combat he relies on his holographic projectors and speed to avoid being hit whilst tagging his opponent with every combat technique he knows. Unfortunately even his most powerful attacks bounce off the invincible armour of the Decepticon tyrant.

In further animated news Shockwave and Skywarp are set to ship toward the end of October - Early November for the USA and the case assortment will be

2 x Skywarps
2 x Shockwaves

Each will officially retail for between the $19.99 - $21.99 price point dependant on what stores you shop at, hopefully this news will save you pre-release bods a few $ on ebay
Fort Max:
Do you know when we're getting Shockwave?
Red leader:
Not yet bud, animated seems stalled at wave 4 here which hasnt shipped yet, there are no pre-orders for any further waves either even though Hasbro stated that Wave 4.5 was simply delayed...I'm sure it will sort itself out in the end

I will probably have some good news on Universe Wave 3 on monday, Ironhide will be mine! HUZZAH
shroobmaster:
Pretty cool bios actualy, I love the stuff they do for these double-bios.
Deceptigtar:
i will take one case of Voy. Wave 4 please.
salmonman78:
Sweet deal, I am looking forward to a new Skywarp enthusiasticly, Shockwave about the same.

I loves me some jets.
Laser_Optimus:
Man, the bios are awesome... too bad I have no reason to buy either of these sets. Like I said in the other thread... if they had removed the battle damage from Megs and Prime I'd have repurchased Prowl and Blackarachnia just to get them (sure I probably would have sold off the two later, but Hasbro would have made some more cash off me...).
Galaxy Convoy:
With these being WM exclusives, maybe there's hope for future regular releases of Prime and Megs without the battle damage.
dark69:
must get Shockwave!
Rumble02:
looks like i may get my preorder a little earliar then normal then. cool

One can only hope. Not so sure I'd buy the Megatron (I'm kind of eh on his Cybertronian form), but I would definently pick up the Deluxe Earth Mode Prime... honestly, of the four Prime modes, he's my favorite... I like him more than the almighty Voyager Prime... just something about all that cool packed into him. But that blasted battle damage ruins what is otherwise an awesome figure for me... and I have absolutely no skills when it comes to painting anything.
Zaraxion1021:
Oooo!! 2X the Skywarps and 2X the Shockwaves out in the shelves......Awesome!!!! About the 2 pack Optimus AND Blackarachnia and Megatron and Prowl, i would only want the axe from Optimus to replace the voyegeur one. uke. I already have blackarachnia and prowl but Megatron is a definite NO
Feralstorm:
Too bad - would've been a great opportunity for non-damage-paint versions. I guess this is an indicator of overstock/repackage/something. I'd hate to think they would produce a new bunch of older toys without changing some tiny thing.
TCracker:
Saw the 2 packs by the shitloads in the local TRU here. LIke what Feralstorm said, this is a missed opportunity. The Prime should have the battle damage removed.
Darkravager:
So the Prime in the new 2 pack is the one from the first 2 pack? Awesome. I've been wanting that Prime. I can also get Black Arachnia at the same time.
Galvatro:
Hello All!

Can't wait to have all of these! Shockwave and Skywarp will be very nice to see, and the 2 packs tie the characters together the same way as the cartoon episode-suggested Bios. I have one little complaint- Fusion cannons do not slice! I know, it is a minor pick. If Megatron had sliced through the ship's hull with his sword or if Megatron had blasted his way in with his Fusion Cannon, the Bio would have been a bit more consistent with the weapon's damage. A kid will not notice as he/she opens the pack- GIMME THE TOYS!

i guess they are just adding a sku to move figures a little quicker. or repackaging to hang on pegs makes it easier to get into more stores.

i hope they arent producing more primes with those paint apps. i've never heard anyone say that they liked the battle damage. but i think i understand why they did it. if someone bought a properly painted deluxe earthmode optimus and liked it. they would buy voyager prime and say what the hell? this thing is just a little bigger and isnt as poseable. i really like the the deluxe mold but i think it wont happen for a while. it will slide out when the voyager mold isnt on shelves. it isnt that one is better than the other, just too similar.

god that battle damge looks stupid though. ruins a really good toy.

i have all the animated primes. voyager is pretty poseable as in you can achieve good poses but no matter how you pose his legs he'll stand with his feet both flat on the ground like you didnt do anything.

the deluxes are scary poseable. no matter how you pose them they look very human and seem to have potential like they are frozen in motion. and i cant think of another figure i can say that about.

i like them all. voyager looks the best but the deluxe is more fun to play with.
faithingruden:
Both of these will be mine. (Skywarp + Shockwave) I hate the waiting. There isnt going to be any new animated action out for a while. Just got the wave 4 goodness this past weekend, and I'm not into the universe2.0 stuff.
