Jim Sorenson has just put out a hefty update for the Transformers: Animated The Complete AllSpark Almanac on his blog, Disciples of Boltax. First up, we have the new cover itself, drawn by Marcelo Matere and colored by Josh Perez. Secondly, Jim confirms that the book will include The AllSpark Almanac Addendum which was assembled for the Transformers Collectors’ Club magazine, and about ten pages of new content teasing more of what Season 3.5 might look like. Here’s the full quote form Jim himself:
“It looks like The Complete AllSpark Almanac is just three short weeks away, with an ETA of February 18th at fine comic book stores everywhere. (Probably hitting Amazon shortly thereafter, available for preorder now.) Here’s Marcelo Matere’s beautiful cover for the book, with excellent Josh Perez colors. (Josh also lent his talents to some of the new bonus material inside the book.)For those of you who missed our Radio Free Cybertron interview, this is going to be a massive, 472 page tome that combines The AllSpark Almanac, The AllSpark Almanac II, The AllSpark Almanac Addenda we put together for the Transformers Collectors’ Club, and ten-ish pages of new content teasing more of what Season 3.5 might look like. We worked closely with Derrick Wyatt to ensure that the book was as close to 100% canon as possible, with all new material carefully vetted (and a bit of old material tweaked or recontextualized.) I hope that you all get a big kick out of this one. V1 and V2 are insanely hard to find and fetch ridiculous prices on the secondary market, so it’s very nice to get this material back in print where everyone can get a copy.”
The book will be available in three weeks, on February 18 – be sure to pick yours up!

My copy had a crushed spine and a replacement will be here tomorrow (yes, Sunday!).

Annnnd I just got an email from Amazon saying it WILL be released on the 10th, next Tuesday. Can't wait!

It looks like this has been pushed back. I remember being excited that it was coming out in February, but now it looks like it'll be March. Hopefully it won't get pushed back anymore.

Yeah that's a good point, it's kind of somewhat good right now to be a TFA fan.

It's known. Never feel bad about criticizing or complaining, I'm aware that I can't please all of the people all of the time. But any kind of engagement is heartening, to be honest.
Heavy Brigade you'll learn more about, though Blackout as sole survivor was an idea that came from Derrick. There were some thoughts about backing off of it because the Earth-mode Blackout toy might make good repaint-fodder, but I figured we'd cross that retcon when we come to it. For now, the text stands with Derrick's original intent and not any later FunPub revisions.
I'm a huge fan of digital books. If IDW wants to release this on Comixology, I'm all for it.
No, Stunti-Con Job and The Arrival are separate, and wonderful, comic expansions of the universe. The Almanac just seeks to chronicle them.

So my LGS is putting in a special order for this for me (getting a discount on it to boot), cannot wait.
That said, as someone that's never actually read the previous volumes…umm, what exactly is this? I recall it having character bios and stuff for what would have been in future seasons but beyond that I really don't know what it is, is it a comic?
MarkMilton
is the Stunti-Con Job included? i asked my LCS to order this collection in for me, but want to know if i need to buy this story separately. i've got access to both editions of it, and want to snag one of them ASAP if i have to.

Ok, this year is a "good" Animated year Three toys with Animated molds in new decos (in Transformers Adventure toy line) and a "new" book.
I have the originals in physical and digital media and have the FunPub material. Only to have all this material together and reorganized is enough to buy the new book. But we have some *new* material and some fixes in original texts (Decepticon Heavy Brigade only survivor is one of those fixes? Some of the drawings?), this more than enough to buy the new book.
It's preordered on Amazon and I hope to have it here, in Brazil, soon.
(hey Jim, if IDW release it on Comixology like the other two almanacs I will buy it, too. Reading on tablet helps to preserve the physical books)
Autovolt 127
Well that may be so but it just seems rather weird to ignore actual main characters.
Marauder Megatron. ;_;

Thanks again for this, Jim and Bill. I know I like to bitch a lot, but that's mostly because Animated is very dear to me. You guys put a lot of work into this – all other people involved as well of course – Marcelo, Josh, etc.
Just making sure that's known.

Well said. Eric was an integral part of the Animated team, and we sought to acknowledged that in the Almanacs. We consulted Eric extensively on the Part 2 sections of the book dealing with the toylines, and got him to contribute an essay to the project. (The other essays came from Derrick Wyatt, Marty Isenberg, Matt Youngberg, Aaron Archer, and David Kaye.)

Hmm… I'm a little irked because I finally got volumes one and two last year and I've not even read the second one yet, and now they seem redundant.
I would sell your soul too.

And I was just happen to be reading the Allspark Almanac 2 Season 4 section in TFWiki when I saw this. I extremely happy that I have a chance to buy this and at the same time sad because it's another reminder Season 4 isn't happening . Don't even get me started on those canceled Hot Shot and Ironhide toys.
Cal
If it came back, I would hate myself because I sold my TFA collection a few months ago.
Yobuster
And to get more toys too! Although i really wonder how popular TF Animated would be if it came back.
Mech Ideas made a pair of TF Animated style toys but as far as i know, they aren't selling all that well.
So does that mean TF Animated toys won't sell?
AlexaStar
I would sell my soul to get it back.
SPLIT LIP
I think it's to emphisize the later developements that the newer content covers.
It's clear it's trying to encompass all "stages" of the show.
No.
I wish there was a textless, wallpaper-version of this cover.
Death Cheater
is the tv show gonna come back????
Autovolt 127
It's an amazing cover but i have some issues with it mainly being why aren't Bumblebee, Bulkhead and Ratchet on the cover. They're part of the main cast yet aren't instead characters who aren't main like Rodimus, Brawn, Cheetor and Sideswipe got on instead.
