Transformers Animated Removed from Cartoon Network's Saturday lineup

"Transformers Animated" has been removed from Cartoon Network's Saturday schedule, two weeks after the airing of its final new episode. The series now only airs weekday mornings at 6:00 a.m./5:00 a.m. central. With only a few odd exceptions, it held a Saturday time slot on Cartoon Network throughout its entire production run.

Not to mention double helpings of Secret Saturdays and Teen Titan reruns!

This morning I checked CN and it was not on the Saturday morning schedule. In a way I was not surprised.

Seriously, I was really surprised at how fast it was taken off the schedule. They seem to yank the good shows very quick after the last episode they show.

CN was all too eager to be rid of that series, it seems. Aparently it took up too much time that they thought needed to go to absolute garbage like Chowder. Ugh.

Screw CN, hope Hasbro's channel does better. CN used to have decent shows, Samuri Jack, Justice League, Transformers (duh) etc. Now it's mostly mindless crap on endless reruns. All it's good for is Adult Swim, sometimes.

I'll just wait for the dvd release to see them all again. Cartoon Network sucks.

My DVR screwed up, and never got Endgame part 2. Now I have to wait for the M-Fri reruns to get it. Arrgh.

Anyone else notice that CN is shifting twords live action programing? WTF? My wife and I were watching "Brave and the Bold" and they had a spot for "Nacho Libre" and some new reality show where they throw kids out into the wild and they try to survive by eating grubs and drinking their own urine (someone needs to call Child Protective Services on them).

And tragically, it has just started showing here in the UK on Nicktoons at 5:30pm, a prime teatime slot. CN should be ashamed.

You kow if I had more time, I would do do a 3-d version of animated and keep it going inot season 4 just for fun. too bad the only model I ever did was of animated grimlock. Maybe down the road I'll do more characters but it would take me a while.

I think they are trying to compete with nickelodeon...Because a while back nickelodeo had that little challenge for overweight kids...but what really funny is CARTOON Network is doing reality shows...

If I remember, teen titans was on for at least a whole year after it was finished.

And what about the Dragon ball various series. When CN got to my area, dragon ball series (z, gt etc.) were on 3 times a day including weekends, and that show is over 20 years old !

I don't understand why cartoon network, seems to be so quick to remove one of their very few action- adventure shows.

Right now even nickoledeon has a more interesting line up of cartoons.

Man it looks like TFA REALLY didn't do well.

So are we saying that young boys would rather watch mind numbing nonsensical comedy all day rather than a good (sometimes educational) violent action show ?

Here in the Netherlands they broadcasted the TF ANimated series just after 06:00 AM in the morning Saturdays and Sundays... "HELLOOOOOOO!!!! I would like to sleep out on the weekend if that is possible!"

Anyway... I think that this is one of the main reasons why TF Animated didn't get the status the other series got. Thanks to poor programming by the studio TF Animated is now over... and it lasted only about... A year I think?

Actualy other actions show are still doing better than TFA.

They probably didn't like the way their WOW COOOL ROBOT FROM HOLLYWOOD suddenly turned into a young group of robots dealing with a 8 year old girl.

As far as I'm concerned the only other action show on cartoon network better than transformers is Spectacular Spiderman. And there is more than enough room for transformers and spiderman.

But no. Instead they put 2 episodes of Secret Saturdays . garbage !

AS FAR AS your opinion goes, B:BATB and even Secret Saturday are ding better than TFA, TFA FAILED and I really didn't see anybody other than fans or their kids that they probably forced into watching it giving the show a chance.

Kids suffer of "man this baby thing is gay" syndrom, going from Bayformers to TFA wasn't any good to TFA's health considering they all saw it as "gay gay i'll play halo 3 now cuz im a cool kid".

Think about it, there will be a craze by small midgets who can't get enough of the adventures of giant robots disguised as cars. Cartoon Network instead would rather fill the slot with yet another poorly drawn "Ren and Stimpy"-type show.

Oh well. That's the main reason I dumped Directv years ago. All the cartoon channels only show variations of Spongebob or "clever teenage sitcoms".

I remember when I first saw Chowder. I was like WTF people actually like this show!? It seems like cartoons these days have gone waaay downhill, but that's just my opinion...

I've heard that this is all thanks to a dispute between Hasbro and Cartoon Network. Some biggering went on over there and that's why they've dropped the series... so I was told. Seems like they never keep the fans priority in mind. All they are thinking of is themselfs. Bunch of creedy Decepticons they can be called.

I'll admit that TFA was kinda kids like animation show, yes... but after a while I got used to it. Season 3 though was allot harder and rougher then the first 2 series.

If they want fans to stop downloading all the shows from the net all the time... they should just broadcast it instead of canceling it.

CN was also quick to move TFA to the suicide slot when it finished season 1. It's like they wanted it to fail from the start.

The TF franchise has not been treated kindly on CN.

The issue is no one actually tuned in to watch it at 8AM since they all downloaded the episode a week before or knew they could get it that afternoon.

So the ratings for the show were an abomination and advertisers (the people who pay the bills, not us) had no motivation to advertise their product during TFA regardless of timeslot.

When Re-runs of Chowder gets better ratings than your brand new episode, then something is wrong.

Adults don't actually tune in to watch kids shows and we sure as hell don't watch commercials so if this is a Adult only series (which was pretty much the case) then why would CN want that swill on their channel?

Might as well be canceled. They always do that with Transformer shows. Put it at that early slot.

The bad outweighed the good on this show and by the time it got its bearings it was too little too late. Shame, really. But I'm sure that they'll try again in another year or two.

Yeah, like the Othersiders. CN after = "Hey guys, why don't we make a rip-off of Ghost Hunters, only with a bunch of easily terrified kids who don't know the first thing about real paranormal investigation? It'll be awesome! Yeah, it'll be way better than Transformers Animated ever was!"

They have it available on their stream site till then at least.

Endgame part 2 is also on the CN stream site till june 8th.

It's a shame so many pirated it and used youtube for it, maybe it would have actually I don't know, been a resounding hit, if people actually watched it legitly.

Maybe we'll get lucky and the next series will be a spin off. Or CN will salvage it with a spin off since they still have ownership. It did perform better than Ben 10 AF, and Ben 10 is getting a new series.

I remember when I was little there was the Ghostbusters movie and then they did a Ghostbusters cartoon. The cartoon was nothing like the movie and was just horrible. It wasn't even the same characters and had a Scooby Doo feel to it. The only thing it had was the name Ghostbusters. Then they finally did The REAL Ghostbusters and it was awesome. Animated was like the crappy Ghostbusters which is why I think kids didn't like it. Kids that loved the movie probably saw the cartoon and were like "That's not Bumblebee" or Optimus...Hopefully, the next series will be The REAL Transformers.

This is kinda going to hurt sales for Animated a bit IMO but maybe the ROTF movie will help it limp on at least until we get Rodimus and Arcee. But this in my book officially make CN the culprit and a bunch of Beyotches.

I hate everything on cartoon network my kids are bored by it and adult swim is down right terrible now. Think I might block this channel just cause.

That's kinda harsh. 3 Seasons and upcoming new toys in 2009-2010 seem to suggest some measure of success. Hasbro could be giving us new Universe toys instead but they're not.

The first filmation ghostbusters wasn't related to the movie at all. Different scenario entirely.

TFA on the other hand, had fine ratings, better than some other CN flagship shows. And yet still died. Hasbro had already decided to move forward with something else, saying that CN could continue it if they wished. Honestly, I put the blame on it dying from the fan responses. If more of us actually watched the airings, or the legit stream of the episodes, maybe it would have been renewed by CN as profitable. As it is, CN has just had a gaping black hole for animated, it sucking money in, with no return, because everyone who's a 'fan' of it, goes off to get it their own way instead of supporting it.

I blame CN for their lack of quality cartoons as of late, but when it comes to animated, there's no one to blame but the fans/leeches who just assume people will make things for them because they like it, even though they've never supported it in any fashion other than a few toys. Which sure makes hasbro happy, but they aren't the ones footing the bill for animated's show. If this is how we the fans support shows, tell me, why should CN even bother?

Why the BLOODY HELL do Hasbro and CN hate TFA so damn much?

I'm more surprised that Animated was actually allowed to finish before Cartoon Network dumped it out of "the good time slot". IIRC, CN has a track record of dumping TF shows in horrible time slots, usually before they wrap up (the Unicron Trilogy).
