Nice review, Peaugh.
Yes, thank you for posting here, since I couldn't for the life of me remember who coined that term, and I haven't had time to search the boards today. I'm crediting you in the first post.

Heh. Did I say that? I just kinda go when I record these, I don't usually catch anything like that until I either watch the vid or someone points it out

Why don't you make a review instead of an overview? I'd be happy to hear a more detailed and personal commentary on the toys.

BTW, the underside of Lugnut's right wing looks a little worn/dirty. Is that normal?

u r a bigger man than I peaugh, kudos

he looks great! at least as bulkys opponent. I'm pleased to c the mace gimmick somewhat emulates his punch in the toon.

So Lugnut is his Weapon's minicon?

Nice trick. These TF:A gimmicks are so much more fun than all the useless accessories and paraphernalia we've been getting since... well, forever.
TCracker:
Nice review Peaugh.
Fort Max:
The mace works quite well but I'd rather have had a punch gimmick.

I don't really get how that would work,
Would it be just a normal "Extendo Fist" gimmick like Barricade and many other toys?

Well that big rod in his hand could have been a piston on a strong spring.
Push it in til it clicks, stand a victim in front of his open fist and push the release button. Et Voila and your lesser figure is now on the other side of the room.
ThomasMaximus2:
this guy is freakin sweet. definate buy for me (not gettin all the toys they dont look all that great)
Brandon:
Looks cool. Might end up having to get Voyager Bulkhead to have someone in scale to Lugnut.

Ahhh...kinda like Alt Rumbles pile drivers...just on a smaller scale....

UltraDevmodious:
I gave in and bought a screamer 2 weeks ago on ebay. I had to have at least 1 animated toy early the rest I will be patient about. I want this Lugnut now. Thanks a lot Peaugh!

Eh, like I've said, not the end of the world. It's not like I don;t already have enough animated to play with
Railguard:
Huh, pretty neat. I must say though I'm still not digging the whole animated thing. Oh well.

im not sure ive seen any animated toys stood alongside g1 stuff, I suppose they are quite a lot bigger (eg a delux vs a g1 ex diaclone toy). Id be interested to see how the large chunky forms compare to the diminutive ex diaclone G1 stuff.

any possibility of a mini photo set peaugh??

thanks.

microclone.

Doable. I only have knockoff Devastator, TM Hot Rod and Powermaster Op, available to do comparisons. I'll see what I can do.

Actually, here's a comparison shot of the first three I got with Hot Rod and Classics Cliffjumper:

Red Alert:

here are some shots next to prime and astrotrain prime is slightly taller than bb
Peaugh:
Damn, how many Bumblebees do you have?
Red Alert:
just 3 and one of them will become animated cliffjumper soon
BruticusMaximus:
I was wondering:

What colour does the original release Lugnut have for his arm?
Like Peughs grey version, or like that of http://cgi.ebay.de/Transformers-Anim...QQcmdZViewItem
this one...

The ebay auction is the final "official" color. Mine was a test shot.
BruticusMaximus:
Damn!

I like yours more then the official one. Yours is closer to the cartoon colouring...
UltraDevmodious:
I keep looking at the teal and then yours...i dig the figure i just don't like the release coloring.

I agree. I grabbed a Lugnut of ebay. it is not as teal in person, but i would still prefer a lighter version like Peaughs.
Optimus Scourge:
Gallery is up: Animated Voyager Lugnut
Paladin:
Lugnut is the exact opposite of Starscream in every way. He's short, stocky, and is completely devoted to the glorious Megatron. Every series has at least one character like Lugnut- a sycophantic yes-man who spends more time praising his leader's name than actually doing anything significant to help the Decepticon cause. Let's take a look at how this newest boot-licker's toy representative!

Lugnut's Vehicle Mode is a Cybertronian B-29 aircraft. It's kind of a small plane; he's smaller than Starscream but his real-world counterpart should dwarf Starscream's vehicle counterpart several times over. Aside from that minor scale problem, it's a cool design.

In Robot Mode, Lugnut suffers from the same type of problem as Bulkhead- he's unusually small for a Voyager-sized toy.

Lugnut's design has been described as "a bastardized love child of Shockwave & Omega Supreme," and I can kinda see how that works. The giant claw arms coupled with the single eye in his forehead blending together.

Articulation is decent, except for one point- the head cannot move at all. There's an automorph gimmick involving his chest which destroys any hope he had of neck movement.

Lugnut's main weapon is a gigantic lance. It's a bit heavy for the poor kiss-up and can mess with his stance if you don't pose him right.

Lugnut's my favorite Decepticon so far, despite his size issues. He's just really fun!
Torque:
Paladin: Lugnut should have no neck movement-he has no neck! also, try pushing the weapon into his hand all the way, and push that funky button on the bottom-itll finish transforming his Mace Weapon.
SPLIT LIP:
Heh, I must have extra-sensory powers, because I didn't even know hwy I clicked on this thread, but low and behold, (is that how you say it? lol) Sky-byte in the pic.

Sky-byte!

I really do like Like Lugnut, though. He looks to be a decent size to face-off against Bulkhead.
BuildKing:
Lugnut is a great figure. I like its retro/cartoon/ military look. And to have designed him as one-eye monster is just the chery on top. With those colors, especially the purple, he has that G1 Shockwave vibe... a little bit.

I also appreciate the extra effort the designers did for having the plane tail to transform into a decent weapon rather than just hanging on its back in robot mode( a la tf movie Blackout).
ElekTriC:
lugnut is nice personally i dont mind the "scale". it are toys.. if you want scale you should make it 1:1
BustaJesse:
I can't wait for Lugnut. He is one of my favourite characters on the show. Lugnut FTW!!!!

split lip i now u may want to kill me but i really didnt care for skybyte in toy or toon.but ive only ever seen dubbed so till i can see original might let me offf the hook but on topic. ratchet is cool but i consider him to be one of the lesser figs in the line
BruticusMaximus:
Don't know if it has been posted before:

Is the any way to strengthen up Lugnuts Club/Pike mechanism?
Transformed in Jet-Mode the engine part is a little loose.
I unscrewed the whole Part but did not know what to do there since it is a very complicated mechanism...

Not really. If you make it too tight that way, it'll only stay until you activate it, and then it won't lock closed again due to the way the gears are. I speak from experience
KA:
wants lugnut for the gloooooooory of the decepticons

ive grown quite fond of him since he 1st appeared. his schtick is quite endearing how he even annoys megs himself.
