 | | | Transformers Animated Activators Bumblebee out of package pictures | | Posted on 03-30-2008 at 03:55 AM by Sol Fury | | An auction has been listed on Ebay by TF08.net for the Animated Activators Bumblebee. The listing includes several out of package images of Activators Bumblebee. More images have also been posted on TF08.net's homepage, which show some of the poseability in Bumblebee's robot mode.

It blows my mind how sophisticated these are.

Ravenxl7:
Cool. I'm concidering getting Activators Bumblebee instead of the Deluxe version, but the obvious lack of articulation of the Activators version will probably be the reason I go with the Deluxe version instead (that and once the Animated line comes out, I'll be in need of a Transformers fix, as there's really only one TF in the remaining movie line that I currently plan to get).

Also, Bulkhead: http://cgi.ebay.com/TRANSFORMERS-ANI...QQcmdZViewItem Larkin Vain:
I wonder how he compares in size with the normal animated tfs. If he's smaller he might be more in scale with the normal line.
Feralstorm:
Most info has pointed to the Activators being around scout/basic size/price.
killahbuny:
it would be cool to see some sort of movie of the transformation to see how good it looks.
lastmaximal:
i seem to recall a youtube post around Toyfair time showing just that.

Type in 'toyfair-08' in search box, then scroll down list.
The video is still there. I just checked.
KA:
yay for in scale tfa bee!
Railguard:
Eh never was really into the whole action battler...er...whatever it's called.

SPLIT LIP:
That is very nice! I love how he looks! Him and Starscream are deffinate buys, but not Bulkhead, simply because I don't want three of him. (I'm already getting Voyager and Leader) Quote:

yeah, i remember all reports stating they were to be sold at the Scout price point [though given tyhat scale indication, inner mechanisms may have been the deciding factor over size]... but i hope he's at least Scout sized in robot mode, and between Legend and Scout in vehicle mode [Smart car, snrk].
still, i like having a little Bee more than a Deluxe Bee [TFTM is my Deluxe Bee of choice]... AND the yellow on this looks really nice, if the pics capture the color right.
SPLIT LIP:
I might, MIGHT, just get this guy in favour of the Deluxe 'Bee, but that's only because:
He's smaller.
He's a darker, warmer shade of yellow like the show.
He's pretty accurate for such a small size despite how inaccurate his Transformation is.
He can go great with Voyager Bulkhead and Deluxe Prime and hence, Voyager Starscream.
Deceptigtar:
hrmmm, " i dont say english, sorry, thanks for bid!"
the funny thing is the seller for starscream with the neg one has had engrish before, probably copied of heero or someone else. kind of scary incase somekind of a mix up happened or something not described.
Doctor Ingenious:
my animated line of choice
shroobmaster:
I still don't get why Activator Starscream is way more accurate than the movie version, but I don't care! The better the cheaper version is, the better for me!

j.a.f.o.:
I don't think my 3-year-old son would be a stickler for show accuracy, so I'll definitely get them all for him (actually these will be the only Animated toys I buy).
Any word on their release date?
microclone:
his yellow looks more solid than the delux BB version, more 'orangey'. hes cute for sure, has the feel of G1 BB with the black arms and simple design.
i'll never understand the whole scale fetish thing with TF fans, sure voyager bulkhead is way to small and BB's a bit oversize but why this minor issue tortures some and leads some to ignore toys entirely is beyond me.
G1 had massive scale issues and for good reason considering the different toy lines from which it was hotch potched together, you had the cars/jets/dinos that were mecha for 1 inch high pilots and then the 1:1 scale megatron gun, cassettes, 'real' penny racer toys (minibots), so although BB and say prowl were in scale from the catoons point of view the irony is you have a real size penny racer toys alongside a microsized police car.
to my mind people getting ate up on scale issues are taking their toys way to seriously.
microclone:
im not sure anybody will be buying from that seller, 1 feedback and its negative.

| During the months leading up to the movie, there was a huge discussion/argument spreading over many Transformers forums about the dislike for mass/size conversion (basically the act of large robots becoming tiny guns and cassettes) so I guess it stuck.

I don't think a lot of people are happy with the fact that Bulkhead, who's supposedly so massive and lumbering in the show is shorter than his peers.
It's the fact that scale is so evident in the show that when it's not present in the toys it bothers people.
Still, it's no reason to disregard the whole toyline, and Hasbro's releasing figures to go in scale with other figures and so-on. It all works out.
Bass X0:
well, i still buy Legends toys but I accept that say Legends Bumblebee is on a different scale than Legends Brawl. I don't pretend that they are the same height in fiction just because their toys are.

Also, if you looks at the main tf08.net page, he lists the same figures upcoming as the list I got from a different source last night.

When you have Deluxe Bumblebee (shortest in the show) looking down to Bulkhead, that throws things off. And remember, it's not great for display, either.
Activators BB is a great solution to this problem.
Bass X0:
Yeah. I think I'll probably buy the Animated toys that are closest to the size they are in the show. That does mean Leader Bulkhead since Voyager Bulkhead is still too small in comparison to the others.
I may buy some Activators but as additional extras.
SPLIT LIP:
Like I said, I'm getting as many figures as I can.
Voyager Starscream, Leader Megs, BA, Lockdown and possibly Blitzwing (depending) seem to fit in scale with Leader Bulkhead, Voyager Prime and deluxe BB, Ratchet and Prowl.
Whereas Voyager Bulkhead fits with Lugnut, Activators BB, Deluxe Prime (both of them) Grimlock and possibly Snarl and Sludge/Swoop. If they make an Activators Prowl than he could fit there, too.
jazz4ever:
dang those are fine might have to pick up all of them once they are officially released
butz:
They look nice, but I'm shooting for only getting the BB activator (just because he looks so damned cool, rather than any consideration of scale)... we'll see how strong my will power is when these are actually released though.

Show Bumblebee is smaller than Ratchet so Activators Bumblebee is the best to get for size accuracy (although the deluxe is the better toy).
Yeah, an Activators Prowl would be good for size accuracy but none has been announced so I'm going to get the deluxe version.
Paradigm-Shift Prime:
Well, these are probably too basic for me, but I like the idea a lot more than fast action battlers.
Sso02V:
I'll probably just get the deluxe one. I just can't get behind that arm design on the Activator.

There's a small pin inside each arm that doesn't seem to be linked to the wheel but rather the fender.
Dropshot:
Related to that pepsi can it looks pretty small. I'm definately getting both these and the deluxe version. Probably it will be the only activator I buy along with starscream and prime.
rattrap007:
I love the little bots. I've got to get them too when I buy all the big ones... I'll probably keep a little one or two in my car to play with.
Feralstorm:
Since Activators are a bit more gimmicky sort-of continuation of the Movie Fast Action Battlers line, I wonder if they are smaller/different price than the FABs to clear up confusion. I know I remember at the height of movie toy popularity seeing more than a couple confused parents asking each other what the difference was between two toys with the same character and same price, but different packaging.
Wonder if Activators will be THE 'scout' class for Animated, much like Real Gears were the movie scout class (except if you go to Target)

Wonder if Activators will be THE 'scout' class for Animated, much like Real Gears were the movie scout class (except if you go to Target) | I'd almost have to confirm that after seeing Activators BB next to the soda can. There's no way they can sell that at a deluxe pricepoint and not call it robbery.
butz:
I'm thinking it goes something like this-
Deluxe = definitive version of BB
Activator = little (and really fuggin cool) novelty figure of BB (sort of a fun little extra)
