According to TFW2005's own ChErikS, retailer Toys R Us has lifted the restriction on selling Animated deluxes, voyagers and the Battle Begins two-pack. You may not find them on shelves this morning, but they should be on store shelves very soon. No word yet which case assortments this includes, but perhaps this will include wave 2's voyager Optimus Prime, which has been yet unseen in the US!

For those of you yet to go ahead and pick up Animated figures at Wal Mart I thought I would give you a heads up that TRU has decided to break the street date also beginning today. Word to the wise that you may want to give it a few hours for the news to filter all the way down to stores, but the lock in our system that keeps the product from being sold has now been lifted.

Our item numbers for voyagers, deluxes and the two pack are:
493859
494440
975543
Don't expect to much, TRU is not as good as Target about getting product from the back based on item numbers.

Soundatron I know what you mean man.When I worked at Wal-Mart they were strict about dropping an item early.Though luckily I had some cool managers and was allowed to get what TFs I wanted early and put them on Lay-a-way,when we still had Lay-a-way.

the TRU by me had a few Animated toys yesterday. I guess your mileage will vary.

As of now our store hasnt had any, maybe i'll check back tomorrow to see what's up with thrm but yeah usually we cant break the street date.

I bet if Target sees the other major retailers breaking street date, they will be more likely to do so as well. BTW, are those $5 off coupons widely available?

Is this just for the US, because TRU in Canada has had Animated toys for a few weeks now.

Does this mean that Canadian TRUs might release some wave 2 stuff like BA, Ratchet and Grimlock?

Sure NOW they break the street date, but when I had the last remaining figure of Wave 1 in hand and ready to pay they were singing a different tune >< Damn you TRU

Well the information seems to be moving down to stores more slowly than I was originally indicated because the update didn't seem to take affect today. I have now been told tomorrow and that stores should have it on an endcap immediately. The store inventory I saw was nothing but wave 1 for those of you who asked.

Also, replying to the Target question, TRU only did this after ok'ing it with Hasbro so I assume that they would be in the process as well.

Eh. Wal-marts here have been selling these for a short while now. My Toys'R'Us has been kinda shite on TF selections since the Classics from a few years past.

As long as you have the DCPI number you can always try and ask the people at Target to get you stuff from the back.

The coupons are printable, expires in October coupons for $5 off $25 TOY purchase. I used a couple when the were clearing out the deluxes (4 deluxes = $28 - $5 = $23 = $6.21/deluxe after tax!!!!). Unfortunately, after I printed them out I just photocopied them. Let me see if I can find the link.

UPDATE: looks like the links to the coupon are dead. I found one site that still had it so I copied the coupon image. The barcode on the coupon still worked when I used it last week (for non-transformer toys, heresy, I know). Lemme know if ya need it.

Well I just called my toys r us. They said they're not recieving any new shipments til Friday...

Here's hoping it contains animated stuff I do want...

TRUs in Canada have already released wave 2 deluxes (BA, RAT) (see: www.cybertron.ca), they've been out for a few weeks. Still only wave 1 voyagers for now though, and by the way Prime is the only wave 2 voyager, Grimlock and Lugnut are wave 3 (but both appear scheduled to come out by the end of the month in Canada).

For this news, it's not a matter of TRUs now ordering Animated and having to get it in. The cases would already be in the backs of stores but with 'DO NOT OPEN BEFORE' dates on them.

Yeah, I doubt my local TRU will put Animated up, even if they have it. Their shelves are so flooded with Movie crap (including the exclusive Ultra class figs) that there's simply no space for Animated.

I recently saw a bunch of wave 1 Animated figures at a TRU store during my stay in the Gold Coast. I passed on all of them as they looked horrid in person. I picked up a Premium Starscream, Big Daddy and Divebomb.

Depends on what you want. TRU will have wave one in greater numbers but won't have BA, Ratchet, Lugnut or Grimlock. Walmart will, but BA and Ratchet are heavily weighted in the wave two case.

I've had deluxe BB, Prowl, Ratchet, Prime, Voyager Grimlock, Megs and Starscream for like 3 days now. My Walmart has had them out since Friday.

Good. Break that idiotic fucking street date; it's waaaaay past the time where the movie figures were selling like hotcakes (hell, they're barely selling at all any more). Too bad the retailers didn't wise up to this sooner.

Stopped by tru in jefferson valley NY... no luck, but it did look like they were in the process of resetting the area. There was also a green sticker on the tags that said 6/9 on it (todays the 10) so they may start putting them on the empty pegs...

I stopped by walmart in cortlandt manor and found a whole mess of animated figures. they had 10+ of prime, ratchet and blackarachnia. I took a prime and the last lockdown. There was also a prowl there i believe.

A green dot? If it was, that just means that's the date they put that sticker there because the product that goes there was out of stock.

What do you tell the store associates who insist that the official street date is the 22nd? Was there a memo or something that was sent out to the stores that we can refer to when asking them?

Didn't get a chance to head into town yet,but when I do I'm gonna check my TRU and Wal-Mart to see if we got them yet.I doubt it,FL seems to be one of the last states to get sh!t from Hasbro.

Yep, they've been that way for a few days now. Since it is so close to the release date, they will ship and end up on your door step on the stated release date. Don't hold your breath that HTS will get you TFA any earlier.

Weird thing is... my preorder for wave 3 was just filled at BBTS. They should be here by Monday.

Okay from the numbers that were given on the first post it appears to be just wave 1 stuff, No Ratchet, No BA, No Lugnut, or Grimlock waves.

Yeah, there's a revision down the action figure aisle for next week that will add ONE peg of Animated deluxes. The voyagers and 2-pack will be on an endcap with Deep Space Starscream that is supposed to set the week of the 22nd. At my store though, we only have Starscream in stock.

Same here. I even asked your old boss about it and she was clueless! Though, she useually is huh?

Anyways, me and Anthony have been keeping an eye out for them, but haven't seen them come down the line when the truck is unloaded (and he works on the unload now so he'd see them).
