Preview Images of Upcoming New Transformers Animated Cartoon Characters

Well I guess that might just kill the theory of Hasbro (or whoever) of only releasing certain toys in certain lines and not crossing them over. Yay, maybe I'll see the Dinobots in the Universe line with Jazz!!!!

I don't get it, how does this kill the theory? None of these guys are going to show up Universe any time soon from what we can tell. (With the possible exception of Swindle who isn't confirmed for classics/Universe yet and for all we know the visual Homage with G1 Swindle here could begin and end with the head)

Oh c'mon, buttcracks are funny as long as they're not elaborated on. (For instance, if every shot of Mixmaster was an ass-shot then it'd get old real fast) Besides, no one'll notice it after the initial "WTF LOL" and I doubt it'll be on the toy.

wow I really hope the seekers are in show characters, this series would get better it'd be the first cartoon since g1 to have them. I'm digging shockwave he looks evil!

Jetfire and Jetstorm are the most interesting to me right now, but they all look pretty sweet IMO

For those who saw a more detailed preview at BotCon: What exactly are we seeing here? A sneek preview of concept art or actual in-cartoon appearances? We've confirmed appearances for Blurr, Mixmaster, and Wreck-Gar; does this mean the others will also be making cartoon appearances?

I think that the Seeker art is just recolored Starscream art for repaint guides.

So why does Jetfire look like Charlie Chopper? I missed the Animated panels so I can't say anything about them myself, but to anyone who has, was it mentioned if any of these characters were slated for season 3?

And if the Skywarp and Thundercracker guys aren't used in the show, if made, they would make for great background characters for a direct market movie of the show. Cartoon Network likes to do one or two of those for their popular series. That would give Hasbro time to make/design even more Animated toys to sell. And there really needs to be an origin story told about how Ultra Magnus sent the Allspark away to save Cybertron from Megatron.

All I know is that Swindle is pure love.

Hrm? Not really sure where you're getting that one from. None of these characters are slated for Universe... and it's not a theory as it was confirmed twice by the Hasbro reps. Once at last year's Botcon and again at this year's Botcon... I really don't understand why people are having a hard time with this simple idea (no offence intended here).

So, now we have a TF with an ass-crack for no reason other than an incredibly stupid sight gag. When was TF:A moved to adult swim?

If that shot of Shockwave isn't his head tilted 90 degrees (or basically positioned that way for whatever reason), then I believe when it was reported that we would either 'love or hate' his new design, I was apparently supposed to realize that I would be in the 'hate' camp.

That shot of Jetstorm does look very similar to the BM version. I'm definitely liking that.

Swindle looks spot-on to his G1-self. Since Fred Willard is doing his voice, it'll probably be the smiling con-man routine that he's performed so well many times. "You're looking to buy a used Autobot? Then you've come to the right place my friend!" I'm almost looking forward to this one as much as the Blurr and Wreck-Gar episodes.

For those people who went to Botcon, I have a question for you! How close does Animated Jetfire look like the G1 version? Or is he based more on the designs of A/E/C Jetfire?

Thought: If Autobot eyes are blue and Decepticon eyes are red-what does that make Jetfire? I understand why Swindle has purple eyes, though-red and blue makes purple, and if he's a turncoat, that makes sense.

Jetfire is a pretty original design. At least compared to other Jetfires.,

Skockwave's head looks like it was flipped around to give t a more "animated" look to him.

As for Jetstorm and Jetfire, I think they'll be an autobot team because in the series, all autobots have blueish or green eyes. And why does everyone thinkthat Jetfire looks like girl?

All of these (except 'Warp and 'Cracker) are absolutely awesome. Gotta love that builder's crack on Mixmaster - if Scrapper has the helmet, why can't Mixmaster have the crack? And if there's a Scavenger, which has been rumoured, will he have a chest design that resembles a singlet?

Since Mixmaster has visible plumber's crack, will we be getting an Arcee with camel-toe?

Definitely will buy the seekers. That mold is worthy of multiple displays because it can be displayed in quite a few ways.

Now I know what the Botcon panel meant by "either you'll love him or hate him" - his head seems to be very narrow and very tall, pretty much as if the original G1 head was rotated 90 degrees... Hmm, I like the red eye with the cat-like pupil, will reserve judgement until I see more.

I'm surprised - I thought Skywarp and TC would be toy-only characters... At any rate, they BETTER get new heads, because the Screamer head only works for Screamer. Neither of them are smirking treacherous bastards...

Not sure about Jetfire and Jetstorm... I'm guessing instead of based on G1/BM characters they'll be entirely new like Lugnut, since those colors are not found on any of the original characters. I wonder what the "fire/ice" combiners concept is (and shouldn't that be fire/lightning? JetSTORM...)

I almost hope it doesn't cos then Hasbro UK won't release it on account of it encouraging a negative sterotype of builders etc.

But yeah, it's awesome, amazing how much character can be shown in an arse by this man.

If you take a look further down his page there's an assortment of made up heads, all very cool.

On a negative note, pity they just had to show both seekers, would have liked to have gotten even just a glimpse at this much talked about samurai armour for prowl.
Also, we've all seen Wreck Gar, he was in a YTV advert.

Giving Shockwave a touch of the Hal 9000 aesthetic is a great idea. Mixmaster's "builder's bum" disturbs me, yet I cannot turn away.

I never realised that Swindle looks like the Decepticon symbol. Jetstorm looks to be close to his Beast Machine look.

From what we know, Thundercracker and Skywarp are toy only characters.
They just used starscream's animation model to show off their color schemes.

Also Jetstorm's head seems to resemble the Beast Machines Jetstorm.
I think his element comes from something called a snowSTORM.

Since some people seem to need it spelled out...

Mixmaster is a constructicon. He's a Construction Worker. They're making a joke BASED around the fact he's a construction worker, hence the buttcrack. It's a visual gag. A joke. A funny. I doubt they'll focus on it much at all. Not everything has to be 'Transformers! Serious business!!'

You know... I've been trying to figure out what they'd call Jetfire & Jetstorm's combined mode (you know, kind of like they had a name for Dreadwind & Darkwing's combined jet form? The Dreadwing.) and it I keep hoping they call it Firestorm or something like that...

Wow. I've been tossing up whether to go down the Animated, Encore or Universe routes, but the Animated world is looking more and more fascinating and a lot more deja vu-ey. Far more characters in this series than I thought they'd do; it started off with just a few in the first episode, but they're really running with it.

Agreed. Some people need to lighten up. Animated is good stuff, but it's still a bit goofier in style than previous lines, so the sight gag works.

In fact, I was looking at the image wondering who the hell it could be, until I noticed that he had a plumber's crack, and then it was obvious it had to be one of the Constructicons! So I guess that proves the gag must work thematically.The cylinder on his back just confirmed it was Mixmaster.

I think I'm getting the vibe for Jetstorm & Jetfire. They seem like they're probably young hotshot flyboys... hence the "goggle" motif on Jetfire's helmet. Works for me.

Could be these guys will be the Sunstreaker & Sideswipe of TFA... 2 brothers who have different styles and motivations... one favours the Cons, the other the Autobots, so without being able to make a decision either way they stick by themselves rather than split up. Interesting idea if that's how it plays out... more potential for character development than solely "I'm hot tempered and 'fiery'!/I'm cold, calm and calculating."

... though it could also be a nod to HyoRyu & EnRyu from GaoGaiGar (who even combine). Or Mugen & Jin from Samurai Champloo. And nods to GGG and Champloo are always cool in my book.

Jetstorm looks very generic, although Shochwave is really menacing, I'm loving his design. Swindle oozes charisma.

It doesn't. Out of all the G1 characters brought back for Animated, I'd say Swindle is the closest to his original form. The only differences seem to be minor details.

The head isn't tilted. Oh, and the beginning of those silver antennae you see on the sides of his "face"? Those are the bottoms of his Armada Megatron antlers.

Thats too bad, because allegedly they won't combine. Something like "just because they combined in G1 doesn't mean that they'll combine now" was said at one of the panels.

actually, they said that characters that combined in the past might not combine anymore-unless im mistaken, Swindle used to be able to combine-coulda been talking about him

They said the odds of seeing the other Combaticons was pretty non-existent. I'm not sure if the Constructicons will combine - however, Jetfire and Jetstorm do something, as they were referred to as a "fire and ice themed combo". Could just be the jets link up, though, not the robots.

Ya Thundercracker and skywarp are back. Finally and hopefully they have bigger parts.
