Would be cool though. | How are they not seeker clones? It's the exact same toy as Starscream, just slightly different wing mold, and instead of folding the nosecone down behind the head, you leave it up (except on box art for the toys. heh.)

Still, he could introduce them as the elite fighters, though I doubt toys would be made. (I don't think Hasbro could sell two repaints and three remoulds of one TF in one line)
mattjy:
slightly off-topic question - where does the term 'seeker' come from? the toys were always referred to as 'decepticon jets' and I don't remember them being called seekers in the cartoon or the early comics.

Remold would still be hard considering the nosecone retracts instead of turning into his head, only way I see one of the coneheads getting a remolded toy would be if Hasbro took out the "kkk helms" and gave 'em something like chinese straw hats to mimic the heads or party-hats.
mirarage:
They'd have to pack the sidecar in with prowl.
Unless there's already connection points on the current prowl, they will have to add one for the side car in bike mode, and for the armor in robot mode.
Besides, this probably won't see stores until after the new year. 1st wave prowl will be long gone by then, and i can't see hasbro selling an accessory pack by itself.
And as for the "no cone army in animated", sounds like hasbro is taking lessions from michael bay.
Silent_Magnus:
I don't think they said there wouldn't be a clone army.
I think they said Tundercracker and Skywarp wouldn't be part of a clone army.
LimeWire:
who is the little white bot next to them?
knook:
I think that I will get the first Prowl, then I'm prepared if the sidecar is sold seperatly, prepared if the Prowl with Sidecar is a new mold and prepared to get two Prowls Darkspeed:
Lesse... Starscream clone army? Check... Samaurai Prowl? Check... Lockdown in a Poncho? Check...
Can safely say, this episode will be made of so much win!
Silent_Magnus:
I think I might buy the second lockdown also.
I'll display the original version of the characters with the rest of my animated stuff, and Put these two guys together on the top of my desk.
Although it all depends on how much money I have at the time.

It sounds like homage to Beast Machines drones with the Screamer clones (oh God, it rhymes!). The clones are just empty shells (no actual spark to power them).
I bet a million bucks that Skywarp and Thundercracker are going to be two Screamer clones that an Allspark fragment will bring to life (like the Dinobots, for example). Since they're clones of a Decepticon, they'll automatically take on personalities of Decepticons.
Ktulu:
Sounds like a cool episode
RedAlert Rescue:
I admit to being surprised that the only change to Prowl in the accessory piece. I was expecting him to color change with more white on him, or at least to have a white side car.
As for the Starscream question the initial one is already Thundercracker colors "pretty much", So I'd guess that the colors that would make sense for a Voyager class repaint is Skywarp and G1 / G2 Starscream colors on the Animated Voyager mold.
There seems to also be a developing tradition of Red Starscream mold toys - so maybe that mold might be made in a mainly red decration as a Thrust or Ramjet homage eventually.
If they did do Thundercracker I would state that a lighter shade would be needed to differentiate it from the Standard Voyager Starscream.
It's also possible that Hasbro might decide to use other color patterns on the other Starscream Molds eventually -much as the FAB and Legends movie toys typically have distinct colors for their repaints.
So perhaps Activators Starscream might become Ramjet/Thrust/Dirge and the Voyager one become Skywarp and G1 color Starscream - with the original one standing in as a surrogate Thundercracker in play terms.
Ravenxl7:
Sounds like a really cool episode. The wait for it is going to be a little tough. From what I can see of Prowl's armour, it looks pretty cool. Here's hoping the toy version of it looks just as cool in both armour and side-car modes. Too bad it's a one episode thing though. As for the clones of Starscream, it's not all that surprising. From what we've seen of Skywarp and Thundercracker, they are good homages to their origional color schemes, and T-cracker is different enough from Starscream to make sense.

Though like all things Hasbro says, it could change before the actual release of it, but hopefully it doesn't. Quote:

Personally I think of him as being a blue-ish grey color. Nothing againgst you, I just don't see anything purple about him. The more I look at the toy, the more I think I probably won't get him, as he just looks too blue compared to the animation model. It'll probably come down to an in-person decision.
Scourge_151:
I figured he'd get something samurai-esque. Let's hope this translates well to toy form.
AniProwl:
Looking forward to this ep. I find it a coincidence that this popped up on Lance Henrikson's b-day
Aaron:
Sweet. I'm loving Sidecar Prowl.
With my pants.
Hiro Prime:
Hmmmm...
This episode begs a question that I'm surprised that on one has asked yet. How did Starscream get escape from the Elite Guard? I hope it's explained at some point.
The armor does look good and so does the Clone so I await even more repaints that are used in the show.
DeceptiKreep:
Episode looks pretty sweet! Prowl looks wicked and nice to see G1 SS!
Thanks for posting!

So wait, this ep airs on May 31st? Sweet! Early B-Day present. I'm thinking I'm going to get both versions of Prowl, considering he's uber awesome and would like something to take to DC this summer

1. Megatron's double agent got him out - after all, he can't risk Starscream talking. Starscream was the number two guy - he probably knows a lot about Deceptivon logistics.
2. Sentimel Prime's incompetence. Which is what my gut tells me.
Fort Max:
I didn't read the thread because of the spoiler infestation, just wanted tos ay thanks again for the pics Magmatron. Julliant:
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Botcon people said that Thundercracker and Skywarp will not be part of the clone army, so I suppose if they ever do make an appearance, they will be actual Decepticons.

it doesnt make sense to sell just the sidecar. i call shenanigans.

In other words, I don't see how they could get away with selling Prowl with traffic light and Prowl with sidecar/armour at the same price.
Anyone who brought the first one without knowing that the armour is coming would feel juistifiably ripped off.
hutchprime:
Wow, great stuff. Thanks much for the pics AND the info.

transfan_seek:
as long as the toy will be made i dont care if i have to buy an extra prowl
just hope they can pull it off without makeing it look dodgy

Regardless, those are as far as I'm aware all just repaints except a ciuple of new parts here and there, which are swapped parts, not addtions.
We're talking about a whole new toy being packed in with a $10 figure here, I just don't see it happening.
