so wait is sunstorm a show character? i know all the screemer repaints are clones infused with a diferent personality trait of starscreams but was sunstorm one of them?

I hope to God these guys are released as Zellers exclusives for those of us who live in Canada. I need to get these guys!

i will buy every version of starscream. the shockwave, although I at first wanted to wait for the purple repaint, isn't doing it for me. I prefer the original now....odd.

The news of Target Exclusive Shockwave saved my days to hunt on Shockwave.

I haven't ordered / or started hunting like a madman for Shockwave ...

It's a pack of my favorite clone and one of Activators that I want the most vs. a pack of two toys I already own WITH colors that I do not like.

Sunstorm looks fantastic! Definitely going to get him. Having just one Seeker next to Starscream seems wrong, so this should straighten things out a bit.

I'm perfectly fine with Shockwave being the greyish colors he first shipped in. I don't see myself buying the purple repaint.

And yay for more pack-in figures to give away to my nieces! Too bad they don't do a two pack with the same figure. I'd be stoked for an Activators Sunstorm.

I think these are the best Animated exclusives thus far.
I'll be picking up Sunstorm if I decide to start getting the clones.
Shockwave I'll be passing for now. I might get him once I get more shelf space for my Animated collection.


He was the sycophant(suck up). The only non-show clone so far is the Dirge activator.

Okay, I have a plan now. I'll buy the Animated colors accurate Soundwave and keep him as Longarm and then buy the G1 colors accurate Soundwave and keep him as Soundwave. It's foolproof! >=D

As for Sunstorm, definately another buy for me. I don't have another Sunstorm figure. XP

Not extremely enthousiastic about Sunstorm but yellow never does look too good in online pics, so i'm not sure yet.
Shockwave, ehhh,no. It needs silver or yellow paint apps to break up the Decepticon-ness for Longarm mode, and i'm just not feeling it without his big yellow eye, so i'll just get graywave.

There is Ramjet and Female Starscream left.
Female Starscream isn't based on any previous seeker. Although her deco is slightly based on G1 Overlord.

And Activator Thundercracker's deco isn't that accurate to the show.

Shockwave is a maybe, need to open the one I have. Maybe its just my color-blindness but I don't see that dramatic of a redeco.

Sunstorm=hell yes, glad I've yet to pick up Activator Ratchet too, though a shame the Activators couldn't be repaints either.

Does it count as buying a repaint if I am gonna display Purple Shockwave as Shockwave, and the original grey as Longarm? haha.

I just realized that it'll be a lot easier tell whether or not Sunstorm has a head compared to the previous two releases of the mold.

AAAARGH! GodDAMNit, that purple Shockwave is tearing me up inside! My toy collection policy is and always has been entirely fiction-oriented; I'll only buy characters who appear on the show, and I'll only buy the most show-accurate version of that character available. The original Voyager Shockwave fitted perfectly into that pattern...until THIS sucker came along, with his utterly beautiful G1-homage paint scheme, and created a bizarre paradox whereby the original is more show-accurate, but the repaint looks more like Shockwave!

So what do I do? Do I buy the original, and lose out on the awesome nostalgia factor of the repaint's classic look? Do I ignore my primary toy-buying instinct for show accuracy and buy the repaint, and put up with a totally compromised and useless Longarm mode to boot? Do I take a massive hit to my wallet and buy both to display as different characters, thereby sacrificing the sense of Punch/Counterpunch duality that made this toy so appealing in the first place? It's a lose-lose-lose situation...



...of course, if Hasbro REALLY cared about what people (that is to say, me) wanted, then they'd do the honourable thing and recolour Shockwave purple in Season Three, and then release a new version of the figure with magical paint that changes colour when you transform him. But we all know they won't do that, will they? That's because Hasbro hates the fans. Curse you Hasbro!

i am sold on that shockwave. at least i dont have him already! but a purple longarm is creepy though.

How'd you handle the movie?
There were a number of G1 homage redecos.

And yeah this makes him loo more like G1 Shockwave, but he's not G1 Shockwave.

Sunstorm: I was sold the moment I read he was a voyager, Activators Ratchet is just a Bonus. He's probably the suck-up clone, but like I care if he's not (he'll be a religious-crap spewing generic seeker clone-brother of Screamer in my eyes anyways) Glad I held out for him, now I just need Femscream as well.

Shockwave: I might get him, depends if I like the purple enough or not to justify an extra $5. Otherwise, I'll go with the gray.

Best part: both are Target Exclusives! I love Target, always the closest and best prices for me.

Ill buy both, but still buy the regular shockwave.

Yeah i think i am going to get Long Arm as he is in the show and then have Shockwave in regular colors. Also Will be getting sunstrom i dont even have starscream yet but i do what it!!!!!

The movie G1 repaints didn't really convince me; they kind looked like the movie characters cosplaying as the G1 characters or something. This, though...I know he's not G1 Shockwave, and I love Animated Shockwave on his own terms, but the purple on this guy just looks...right. I guess it isn't helping that I know that this was probably the colour he would have been anyway, if not for that pesky plot twist that needed obscuring...

Important Question. I live 40 miles from the closest Target. And even when I go there, I never seem to find exclusives. Shockwave isn't so important to me (but I do prefer it to the normal one), but I MUST own that Sunstorm. Is there going to be ANYWHERE online that will have this?

Definitely holding out on buying shockwave for the time being. I love the purple deco.

But the female with the purple and greenish is a good match for the G2 scheme of Ramjet to me, dunno if its what they were going for or not but the name would still be beyond me.
