Soundwave looks nice. I was planning to pick it up for Ratbat, but at least the accompanying toy looks really solid, too.
Freeway Jazz is an incredibly bland repaint and I have no idea why Hasbro is wasting our time with this when Arcee, Cybertron Ratchet and Rodimus Prime are sitting around waiting for release.

What's with the hole in Ratbat's forehead? Not really a fan of the Ratbat figure. It's the head on the end of the keytar that bothers me. I know that Hasbro couldn't really do anything about it, but man, I wish the face could be flattened and "closed" up in its keytar mode.

We did get that horrendous, yellow Ratchet redeco entitled Rescue Ratchet. Remember, only movie Ratchet's toys are green, he's really supposed to be yellow.

You do know repaints make it possible for new moulds in the future, right?
They have to repaint some figures so they get the money out of the mould, then they can afford to make more new figures for either future waves or future lines.

Soundblasterwave is bought. If I remember correctly he did take on that color at some point during the show, even though it may have technically been a lighting issue with the dark room he was in. Still.. I need a better excuse to buy Ratbat for $12.
Freeway Jazz is still a pass.

This Soundwave is sweet! Love the colors and Ratbat as Keytar is a thing of awesomeness. I will get these if I see them. Kind of funny how the peg hole in RatBats head looks like he got some kind of robolotomy.
That said, no interest in FW Jazz. Don't really get what it's supposed to be. The first Jazz is such a fantastic toy, this is a cup full of why bother.

The way I see it, each 'pointless repaint' is one more Animated toy than we thought we were getting earlier this year, which is good because there is always someone who likes/wants it even if the majority doesn't.
I'll get both when I see them. They both look nice, I want Ratbat, and I want my money to say "thanks Hasbro for not ditching the line when it would have been easy to do."

IIRC, he appeared in the Soundblaster colour scheme during some/all of his appearances in the VR simulation in "Human Error".

... yet you don't question how we're getting these two redecoes and the recent news about the two Activators redecoes?
As for the ROTF styled Lockdown, we are getting him... the ROTF line isn't ending anytime soon... Also, how did you not know that we're getting Rodimus and Arcee when they were shown in the slideshow and talked about at the same time, granted that BotCon '09 wasn't the first time that we've heard that Hasbro will still be releasing the two Animated figures. We've also even seen photos of the actual figures (at least in some sort of finalized stage) on display.

I'm guessing hasbro is holding back on the season 3 dvd until these are out.
Hisstank.com did get a tidbit of information from their last hasbro q & a. Saying that the gijoe resolute movie on dvd will be released in the fall or third quarter.
If their making that push into the entertainment section I speculate the Animated dvd is coming as well.
This dvd release is probably the justification they fed retailers to even continue stocking animated toys.
Can't wait to expand the lineup. I want them both. Jazz is a double g1 ricochet/ movie jazz deco!
