So I'm thinking, chances are Overload is just the Armada mold recolored/repackaged/whatever. Which is a bummer.
However, what if... and I realize this is a long shot... it is actually a blue Classics Voyager Prime? With all the Micromaster homages being tossed out lately, could it be a Classics Prime repainted as G1 Overload? He always looked like a mini Prime. It would be a good dual homage to both Overload and Powered Convoy, while also giving newer collectors who might have missed it another shot at the Prime mold.
I know, it's highly unlikely. Even if Hasbro did decide to release a blue Classics Prime, he would probably just be given the "Nightwatch" designation or some such. And it would be, sheesh, the EIGHTH version of that mold. I guess I'm just grasping for other possibilities, while hoping very much that it's not the Armada mold. Excluding perhaps Minicons, no Armada toy should ever see mass-release shelf space again in my opinion.
Astrotrain52:
Roadbuster Magnus: Pass
Universe Vector Prime, unless it looks uber, pass.
Leo Prime/Lio Convoy: Better not be a recolor of Leobreaker (the toy isn't that great to begin with). I really want it to be a recolor of BW2 Lio Convoy.
vincheng2k5:
Ooh. I want to see the new Vector Prime. I never got him so if I like the color scheme I may finally get him.

BB Shockwave:
How come Leaders cost 39,67$? I always see them for 60$ on Ebay... and Voyagers for 30$... is this value Hasbro's price for the toyshops?
I guess after the Legends toy, we'll get a Lio Convoy repaint of the Voyager toy too... now if they'd repaint Ultra Scourge into the Legends Hun-Grrr colors, that'd be swell!

Thundershot:
What do I WANT?
Vector Prime: Um... I don't know at all. Unless they want to add a Vector Prime character to the Classics mythos, he'll probably be a "Cybertron Series".
Overload: As much as I WANT it to be another Micromaster homage, it's probably the Armada Overload as a repaint.

(i've been kinda surprised they didn't fire off the U. Voyager line with reissues of Prime and Megs) Quote:

I would love it if Ultra Magnus would have his G1 color scheme. I think it would be a neat idea.
I mean, we already have Roadbuster, in Roadbuster colors coming. Target 2-Pack.
ORIO:
Pass on all the animated stuff.
I hope that Overload and Vector are new molds. An articulated Overload would kick ass.

Glad I'm not the only one who feels that way. And yeah, like you said, I'm surprised that Optimus and Megatron haven't been re-packaged and sold in Universe 2. I guess it could still happen, though...

I don't think it's too crazy to think Hasbro would do it, since we've been getting repaints with micromaster names recently anyway
Otispq:
repaints galore. hope any of them look good enough to actually get.

G.a.P.

Would help me catch up without paying ebay prices. | Lumpy:
a vector prime repaint would be cool, cuz i really dig that mold...and if its armada overload i am so in, cuz i LOVE that mold...its so bricktastic...and if leo prime is a japanese release, i'd pass, since i already own that mold...but if its a leobreaker repaint, i might be interested...but we'll see...the animated repaints are all passes though...
Synthetic Breed:
I can't fucking believe they're doing repaints of a figure (Magnus) who isn't out until September. Bullshit if you ask me man.
Uncrazimatic:
how nasty would it be if roadbuster ultra magnus was in the diaclone colors???
mordecai6:
Unless leo/vector prime are new molds i'm not gonna be getting anything from this list, there's repaints and there's cheap ways of making money, plus I told myself none of the voyager repaints were worth geting. And whoever said that they're whoring out bumblebee too much is right on the money, I think as of late he's had more toys than prime.
Fort Max:
Man Hasbro do like to shoot them selves in the foot, here are we all waiting for the boss to be released so we can buy him and exercise our nerdiness (or OCD if you prefer not being labelled) by painting his cab white and now we know there's a repaint coming before not very long at all.
Sure, you could say it should have been obvious that he would be repainted but not every toy gets repainted and not usually so rapidly.
So yeah, Magnus could turn up in shops tomorrow but now I'd be reticent to pick him up untill I've seen the repaint's colours. Speaking of which, Roadbuster is being used as a descriptor in this case (like nightwatch or shadow blade) and not a name. Given that both of those figures had completely new and unexpected paint schemes I'm not expecting to see Ultra Magnus in any kind of familiar deco but perhaps something new and maybe even attractive.
A good solid dark green military deco with some cool emblems, weatheirng and stuff would be very nice but weathering doesn't seem likley on an animated figure.
As for the rest, electronic bumblebee and his seemingly immeadiate repaint are of no interest to me. The rest could be new moulds but repaints seem more likley. Vector Prime and Leo Prime I'd probably have no interest in and I really hope Hasbro are not crazy enough to put out that rubbish Armada overload toy again.
Get the Euro exclusive Turbomasters Pyro and Clench out of the vaults and call one of them Overload rather then try and sell us that brick of a toy again.

Along with Primus and Unicron, Vector Prime, The Fallen and the other 10 first Transformers are canonically multiversial beings who either exist in all universes or can traverse them at will. Quote:

AutobotMarine:
AWESOME! I'm really interested in getting universe Vector Prime, he'll more than likely be the original... or the Japanese version packed in Universe packaging. Plus I'd love to see what Leo Prime looks like, is he a repaint of Cybertron Leobreaker or a repaint of Beast Wars II Lio Convoy? Something tells me he is.
Plus I'm stoked for the black Megatron repaint.

So, 2 of the 3 leaders are getting repaints? I assume that means Bulkhead will eventually get a repaint too... wonder what they would do with him? They could always do the blue color he was "supposed" to be (ie, the real color of the vehicle scanned for his Earth mode), but that doesn't seem crazy enough for Hasbro. Hmmm...
Afterburner:
I hope the Ultra Magnus repaint is in Powered Convoy colors...that would be pretty slick.
If Leo Prime is Lio Convoy, that would also be pretty slick but I'm not counting on it. I don't think I'll buy a Leobreaker repaint. That mold was OK at best and I already bought Nemesis Breaker.
Overload done up more like G1 could be cool. Not sure what else they can do with Vector Prime.
nemisispringer:
well i hope overload is a substitute name for overlord cos they cant get the copyright (a la tankor) which would kind of fit in with the leo prime thing but im not holding my breath really want to see these figures so i can know who the hell they are
Nevermore: Quote:
Originally Posted by nemisispringer well i hope overload is a substitute name for overlord cos they cant get the copyright (a la tankor) | TRADEMARK, not copyright.
Plus, the last time they released a toy based on Overlord (the Heroes of Cybertron PVC), Hasbro called him "Powermaster Gigatron". Quote: |
which would kind of fit in with the leo prime thing
| I doubt the reason they're calling him "Leo Prime" is because they couldn't get the name "Lio Convoy". That name simply sounds retarded. What's that, "Lion Truck"? The hell?
Trailbreaker77:
The only thing I would buy from this list is Inferno. Weird repaints are not my bag.
Destron23:
I hope Vector Prime at least has better colours, a remold would be nice.
Leo Prime sounds good, just hope it's not a leobreaker repaint.
Overload could possibly be good, a remold would be good but I wouldn't mind a repaint since I never had the chance to buy the original mold.

*TF Universe Voyager Overload - $19.96
*TF: Universe Vector Prime - $19.96
*TF: Universe Leo Prime - $19.96
| Awesome; Here's hoping they aren't reissues
Leo Prime sounds promising because Leobreaker was the Western name for him. Leo Prime will hopefully be a Beast Wars II Homage, Cheetor is the 25th Beast Wars maybe Leo Prime is the 25th Beast Wars II release. Vector Prime has a lot of potential for awesomeness cuz I love Ancient Cybertronian vehicles and I hope Overload is a type and its really Overlord; Failing that its would be good if he become armour for Classics Prime
aey103:
Hmmmm...if wll these Universe voyagers are repaints, is Universe 2.0 going the way of Universe 1.0 and becoming a line of all repaints? Granted there are new molds, but the repaints are almost starting to out number the new ones. That said if Leoprime is a repaint of Cybertron Leobreaker in Leoprime colors I might bite. That may look better in my display combined with Cybertron Prime. Otherwise it is an easy pass. And if Overload and Vector Prime are straight up repaints of Armada Overload/Energon Ultra Magnus and Cybertron VP respectively, again easy pass. Although I don't think it would be that bad of an idea for Hasbro to repackage the Energon Ultra Magnus figure as Universe Overload due to the rarity of that figure state side. Hasbro keeps the Overload trademark and US transfans who wanted Energon UM and couldn't find it get a second crack at it.

I know, there haven't really been seven mass releases of him, just seven versions of the mold:
Classics Prime
Classics Magnus
Shattered Glass Prime
Henkei Convoy
Nemesis Prime
Henkei Crystal Convoy
Henkei Black Convoy (upcoming)
But really, since only three of those have been readily available on store shelves (2 in the U.S., 1 in Japan) another release of some sort is probably not out of the question.

Its a good idea and mold for Trypticon. Scourge will probably be a new mold to go along with Cyclonus
Nevermind. I understand what you meant by "that's Scourge" Takara_destron:
Leo Prime and Vector Prime? WIN!
I won't even mind if Vector Prime is a re-release as I never got the Cybertron one.
LXL_Guy:
Too many new listings. I'm happy about it but my pockets tremble at thoughts of these figures.
Thundershot:
Personally, I'd like to see all of the Classics Legends characters put into full-size bodies.
Trypticon - Ultra Cybertron Scourge
Menasor - Leader Cybertron Optimus Prime (that's a tough one)
Aubotot Whirl - Voyager Cybertron Evac
Perceptor - Ultra Cybertron Defense Red Alert
Fireflight - Ultra Cybertron Jetfire
Leo Prime - Voyager Cybertron Leobreaker
That would definitely beef up the bigger price points, and pull in some extra revenue that they can use to make more NEW MOLDS like... oh... Supreme Fortress Maximus.
Chris
Laser_Optimus:
My take on all of this: Shadow Blade Megatron: Well, we just saw him at SDCC so no suprise there. Totally uninterested even though it is a nice re-deco of the mold. However, I already promised myself that I wouldn't buy repaints from this line that aren't brand new characters. Roadbuster Ultra Magnus: Again, not really interested in any repaints that don't represent an all new character... too many same character repaints coming pointlessly in this line IMPO. Inferno: Saw this guy already. Looks like he's the only new mold Voyager coming up. I need to see more pics than what we saw at SDCC before I can make up my mind on him, but he does look good to me. Overload: Well, if this is a re-release/repaint of Armada Overload than I'll more than likely pass on him. He looks awesomely powerful, but his lack of knees and elbows really kills the mold for me. So, probably a pass as I already own the original and the OTFCC Sentinel Maximus repaints. Only way I'd buy a new version of Armada Overload is if they repainted him as The Fallen (which was rumored awhile back) as I think that, even with the articulation issues, it would make a really good Fallen with the right paint scheme.
On a side note I'm kind of hoping for this to be an all new mold of Armada Overload as they are giving us a new Hot Shot in Universe. Still, I won't hold my breath for it. Vector Prime: I'll probably be skipping this. I already have the original and for a short time I had the GF repaint (in the gold colors... which were supposed to be his 'golden age of Cybertron' colors) and I just can't fathom what they could repaint him into now. Unless the Vector Prime name is just an early place holder for someone else that he's being repainted into based on the mold being used (we've seen this a couple times before, but it's not very common). More than likely I'll be passing unless it's really good. Leo Prime: If this is a redeco of Leobreaker in Lio Convoy colors I'll be all over it. That Legends figure was awesome and I'd love to get my hands on a much larger version. Only thing I'd like better is a domestic release of Lio Convoy as Leo Prime... though I just don't see that happening for some reason unless they made him another Nemesis ala Big Convoy to Nemesis Prime.
Also, sense we seem to be getting one of the Legends to larger repaints that everyone was clamoring for during the first wave of Classics... bring on Ultra Trypticon from Cybertron Scourge and Ultra Perceptor from Cybertron Defense Red Alert. Quote:
Originally Posted by BB Shockwave How come Leaders cost 39,67$? Anything you see on eBay would never even be remotely indicative of the actual retail price of the item as the guys whom buy to put on eBay are attempting to make a profit off the toy. Quote:

There's a possibility that Leo Prime is a new mold for Lio Convoy. After all, weren't we told we might be getting some Japanese characters for the 25th anniversary line?
