New Pre-Orders Confirm Upcoming Animated and Universe Figures

Too many repaints dragged this news post down a few notches.

I am already wrestling with the thought of buying EG BumbleBee. Repainting so many other figs is kinda of a bummer. I guess they have to fill the waves somehow.

At least we've had a dozen or so really cool molds in the line already.

We don't really know for sure how many of those are repaints.

How boring. It just shows that they have (or had) no name for it yet, you can shove "Mega" in front of anything that's big. Besides, that was A. written before the P.O.K.E. was created and B. not written by Marty Isenberg. So, nyaaah.

I feel the same way. Most of characters have repaints already and Arcee still has no toy!

Uhh... no. Not at all. Micromaster Roddy looks more like Roddy than the upcoming Legends does. Seriously, it really looks to me like it was designed to be a totally different character and than someone at Hasbro thought it would sell better the first time out as a more popular character.

You know... I really don't get why people are so worried about this. Hasbro's said they're working on it (I believe some concept sketches for the toy were shown off at Botcon at one of the panels) and we've got a Wal-Mart computer listing for her (which only ever end up being wrong if the name is a place holder -doubt it- or the line gets canceled -ala Titanium Arcee listing-). So, seriously guys, relax and wait... I figure the next wave will be her and Electrostatic S(oundwave) as those were the other two deluxes that we saw in the computer listing with Wasp (I'm honestly not sure where the 'inator' came from as the listing was only as Wasp and the character's name on the show is *gasp* Wasp), Blurr, Swindle, etc.

That is kind of my thinking. With many micromaster repaints already out there, I was going to guess that Overload may actually be Voyager Prime repainted again. We have seen a lot of that mold, but retail hasn't seen a mass released repaint yet.

i would actually dig that ~ it'd be a double homage to the micromaster (who was awesome) and powered Convoy aka Blue Magnus.

as you said, sure that molds been used a lot, but it hasn't actually been re-released at US Retail since the OG and Magnus (i'm kinda surprsied we haven't seen it re-released with the Takara paint ~ or close to it ~ with all the voyagers they are cramming out).

You answered your own question. Arcee always makes it to the planning stage and rarely do we see a real figure released.

So that Atomic Lugnut bio isn't the official Hasbro one.
That's kinda what I thought, because it and the Wreck-Garr one didn't sound like the normal Hasbro-speak.

You're half-right. All of wave 05 and 06 were added together. Arcee Sleek Car and Electrostatic S were added together later. Here's the only complete listing I could find: (Shockwave is mysteriously missing for some reason)
As you can see, Atomic Lugnut, Rescue Rachet, (and either Stealth Lockdown or Blazing Lockdown) were all confirmed back in Feburary, but only one source actually bothered to report them, because they have the same names as the normal ones. (but the UPC code is different)

I bet ALL of wave 07 (Voyager and Deluxes) are already in Walmart's computer, but the guy who reported Arcee and Electrostatic E ignored them because the rest were all repaints with the same names as older figures. Someone who has access to Walmarts computer needs to go back and see what else was added that day.

Might be. Who knows... hopefully it's more likely to be a trademark issue, because he currently doesn't have a beast mode and I'd like to see a release of him in his Cybertronian form.

Well, the way the line is going I wouldn't be surprised if all of the main cast get a repaint in the mainline... which is a bit much IMPO, but whatever. After all, Lockdown is getting both his Blazing redeco in the mainline and the Stealth redeco (if one can really call it that) as a Target exclusive.

I hope leo prime is just BW Lio Convoy I have him and would love to get another. The Leobreaker mold is just lame. Hey we already got big convoy so why not.

I have a feeling that Leo Prime will be Leobreaker in Lio Convoy's colour scheme, since repaints of Cybertron molds appear to be the norm.

on other forums some people suggested Enola Gay Silver, but that wouldn't be so appropiate for a kids toy I guess...

That'd be my guess. His small size compared to other figs probably makes him a no sale. There's always at least one dud in a line. But some kids at least are digging him. We had dinner at Friday's a couple weeks back and I saw a little boy playing with one a few tables over. Though I couldn't help but cringe when I saw him drop poor Lugz into his mac & cheese.
