i think there awsome. everyone complains they don't have hands but if they don't have a handheld weapon, then why give them proper hands. people also complain that they look little like jets but i bet tose things on there legs fold out. i think the combined mode "safeguard" is awsome.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! thes r lik if my puke Itsef had sumhow pukd than sumhow took a crape on it anthan sumhow put a boger on Top!!!!1! FAIL1111!!!!!

...

You gotta' love the exaggerated haters. Although, the homophobic comments are quite disturbing.

In any case, I like them. They're obviously not going to be as great as an idividual figure because of the combining aspect, which I think is pulled off decently at least for the Safeguard form. I'll agree that the combined jet form leaves me wanting. All in all, the fire and ice gimmick is neat, the "cloneness" of the individual robots is charming, the vehicle forms are passable (once they have their wings) and the symmetrical docking of Safeguard is awesome.

Furthermore, I think people getting up-in-arms about the lack of hands need to have a little bit more faith in the design team. Really? I mean, really? About official photos?

I asked Limabean (color artist for the included comic) the following:

You´ve had the chance to see Jetfire and Jetstorm in detail right?
Could you give a description of the hands?
And if you`ve been able to toy with them for a bit: How solid do they feel?
This was his response:

i'll have to check when i get home and i aint looked at them since like April or something, but if memory serves they have the standard flat animated hands and combined mode has like fists... i think. i guess they have the feel of like oilslick sturdyness wise
As i predicted, i'm starting to get excited about these toys. I unfortunately do not have Oil Slick yet but i hear good reviews about him, so no worries there.
hutchprime:
IMO, there's no question these figures are mistransformed in the pictures.

if you look at the close pics of the combo jet you can see what appear to be finger details on the 'heel' of the robo legs.
LightningZERO:
Wait till someone reviews Jetfire and Jetstorm...they will turn into BEST TOY EVA!!!!!111!11!!!
Lightlaser08:
Anyone still notice that.... They have Autobot Elite Guard Symbols!
Fosterlager:
About a dozen people have mentioned it and more of us noticed but don't find that enough of a redeeming feature. Please read the thread.

Yeah, seen it... not sure if I care... I mean... that's not enough to get these guys if they don't look much much better trasnformed properly. They just look really bland compared to most Animated stuff.

All 41 pages? You serious?

I hate these figures. First animated ones I think I will take a pass on.
