Tekkaman Blade:
do they have hands in either mode?
Rhinox555:
Hmm, they look like total vomit, the combined mode's color scheme is unbalanced, and they should have given it a different head. looks more like a failed cloning experiment than a combiner.
Though like all vomit-looking transformers (Movie Bonecrusher and Scorponok anyone?), he'll probably grow on me once i buy it. Too bad about the skinny arms and lack of hands though. DVD however, should be nice.
EDIT:No DVD included, just a comic. Meh, still neat.
Digilaut:
Blegh...total crap! The only thing I like about these figures is the fact the alt mode's nose is very G1-Jetfire - pretty much the one thing that made him stand out (next to his cool head).
I'm really hoping the characters in the cartoon look better than this, and the crappiness is because of Deluxe limitations.
Finally an Animated toy I can pass on..things were getting crowded here.
docbenspock:
that's bad
....that's bad
......that's bad
TinManA.H.:
I like them - the combiner element looks cool/fun. The head sculpts look cool. The apparent lack of hands is disappointing, but they could be mistransformed slightly - like rotate the individual arms and they have sculpted hand on them....and maybe something flips out from under the feet to look like a hand in the combined mode.....hopefully, if not - that'd be a quick and easy mod to do, right? ;-)
Lazerwave:
Uh Ok, It looks kind of dumb. the figure looks like two legends instead of... What ever, and I thought Jetstorm was a Decepticon.

I'll wait for better pics, but these can't dissapoint me anymore than Animated Ultra Magnus. I'll prolly get em if or when I see them in the store.
Gryph:
You could totally make Sonic Bomber out of one of those.
ShadowStitch:
Jeez, these look terrible in every respect, in every mold, and every form.
Individual bots? No hands, just stumps.
Combined bots? No hands, just stumps.
Vehicle mode? Cruddy, wedge shaped not-jets.
Combined Alt mode? TWO cruddy, wedge-shaped not-jets back to back, forming one bigger wedge-shaped not-jet.
What a joke. Another animated figure I can't wait to never own.
SPLIT LIP:
Combined mode is freaky. Like seriously messed. The individual robots are kinda cool, but no hands? (I assume they may be moulded on the inside of the arms, like arm guards, but I can't see any on the combined... thing) I like it's demented two-face, though. Should be fun to TF but the final product is weak.
The vehicle modes look more like nifty hover-cars, but it looks like the fire/ice bits fold out as wings.
Symetrical docking, FTW. Horrid robot mode, FTL. Though I won't call it vomit. That's just silly.
shroobmaster:
They look more like Deluxe Marvel Crossovers than anything.
Torque:
hands definately flip out in their individual bot modes, cant tell about the other one
caitlindevi:
so then...someone else has taken over the character and toy design from the rest of the animated range, cos those are so mismatched to the others.
and lame altmodes too
I'd rather have a jumpstarter!
slugslinger2004:
Not much I can say that hasn't already been said. I'm a bit disappointed in their designs, but it's a cool concept.
Bluestreak:
Wow, those look like utter dung.
First figures in Animated that I've disliked. Ugh. Not cool.
Code:

The weird thing is it looks like this character design looks to be based around repainting and reusing the same mold. I hope that wasn't a Hasbro condition placed on the character designer.
Smasher:
I have not really been keeping up on this one, but this is not at all what I expected.
Interesting design.
Constructicon_BC:
They don't look like anything...how can that be Jetfire??!! Although good concept, need more attention to detail and design.
Incepticon:
Yikes, those are not at all what I was expecting. Most surprising is that they don't even look like Animated figures in terms of aesthetic... they almost look like repaints from another non-TF series altogether (don't worry, I know they're not). The alt & robot modes are extremely weak, and the combined modes are just ridiculous.
Too bad... I was looking forward to adding some Autobot jets into the mix, but not when they look like this.
daelite20:
i would like to see kitbashers improved this animated
Bahamut Prime:
COOL! Though for some reason Jetfire reminds me of G2 Hooligan in a way - probably the orange.
Other than that, they two look promising, though they seriously need some hands and possibly some other visable weaponry besides what look like wrist blades.

it can be jetfire cause its not the dude from G1, but his own seperate character.
im beginning to like these 2, but Safeguard? come on! =/

I don't understand the choice of Safeguard for the combined mode.
I think I'm going to call the combined mode Firestorm.
I thing the hands can twist around in the individual robots modes. Also the fire/ice on the legs look like they can fold out and form narrow wings, making them look like Wing Zero's flight mode.
GAUGE0001:
I had such high hopes for these 2 judging by all the other Animated toys I figured these would turn out great.
But alas I was wrong, we were all fooled it would seem.
These 2 are the worst TF molds I have seen in a very long time, no hands, alt modes look absolutely terrible with no redeeming qualities what-so-ever.
The combined alt. modes look like 2 birds mating while in flight.
The combined "SAFEGUARD MODE" looks terrible I've seen so many better combiners it seems they were trying to go for the direction from a couple energon(wingsaber, omega supreme, omega sentinel) ideas w/ this one.
the colors are okay i guess but that's all.
I've always loved the concept of fire and ice characters combining but I feel they could have went in a much better direction w/ these particular characters.
What a disappointment HASBRO, you've blundered many times before so I'm not surprised you blundered again as usual.
Optimus747:
I was kind of looking forward to these but...they just aren't good. Jet modes are decent, but nothing too cool. Robot modes are lame; they look like knock-offs or something from a non-Transformers Japanese mecha series. The combined modes are equally lame. These are Transformers, but don't have that "Transformers feel" to them. $$ saved.
Bogatan:
The individual heads look great. Assuming there are hands on at least the individual robots I think they look pretty good.
Jet modes are a bit simple but so are all three versions of Megatron that I own. Again assuming till confirmed otherwise there are some kind of wings missing then I like them. Actually even without the wings I like the look. Combined robot form is odd but I dont dislike.
Another plus is the custom possibilities.
Torque:
and they do have wings, they just arent attatched in the picture-you can see it in the art and partially in the box next to Jetstorm's head-thin, futuristic wings. depending on where the wings go will help tell me if they are awesome. i hope they are like Hot Rod's spoiler, cause that would be aWESOME
tony77tony77:
WOW, whats CRAP!!!! What the hell is that S***T.
tusko:
Call the red one Ratchet, call the blue one Megatron. Put the two together you get the merger story from the end of the Marvel comics run (issue #70 ish?).
Kimmer:
very bummed out by these. kinda shocked at how horrible they look in both modes and the "combining" is a total travesty. is that what they call two ships getting it on? combining?
Dinobot Nuva:
Well these are the first toys we've seen before the Animation design for said character so far as I can remember, so I'll wait and see how they look in the show.
Digging the F-Zero vibe from the vehicle modes.
DN
Lightlaser08:
Has anyone else noticed that hey both have Autobot Elite Guard symbols?
Lion:
For some of the line, I could be in the middle, and if someone got them for me as a gift, I'd keep em (UM, SP, Jazz), but wouldn't buy them...
For some, I bought asap, some from ebay before hand (Grimlock, Swoop, Blitzwing)...
If someone got me these *jet things* for my birthday, i'd go into a 3 year olds rant, drop it on the ground, jump all over it, and then kick em in the knee!

dude i nearly choked on a Cheeto-NICE ONE
Switchblade:
Okay, it gets points for the symmetrical docking mode, but there really isn't much going for this guys otherwise. The vehicle modes look very bare bones, even if they're meant to be spaceships instead of jets. Individual bot modes aren't holding up much better - they look very flimsy and small, almost like basics. And combined jet mode is... I'm sorry, but I'm not going to call a spaceship stacked on top of another spaceship a "combined mode." It's just too laughably bad.
Paradigm-Shift Prime:
Glad to finally see these guys but ouch those guys look kinda ghetto. 'Hmm, where'd the feet go in jet modes? Oh wait, there they are'.
edit: Switchblade ^ above me here covers the main points.
Josh:
eh...how...dissapointing :\
Fort Max:
WTF, seriously not impressed.
These just fell to the very bottom of the want list.
Dremare:
Symmetrical Docking!!!!!!!!!!
Can't wait for the release!
ErechOveraker:
Major pass.
Hopefully Omega Supreme can revive my interest in animated, because it's about gone as far as the toys go.
Torque:
heres a thought-put Hotrod's Spoiler on Jetfire-that would be cool of the wings that are left out of the pic looked like that
chachi:
How are suppose to be jets? I sure hope they are mistransformed. They don't even have hands. They just took a step back towards Armada with this one.
The combined form reminds me of the final boss in Street Fighter 3.
Dark Magnus:
Wow... words can't describe how dissapointingly bad they look in both their combined modes.
ad0nis01:
I think I'll pass on these guys.
GW_Freak:
I must be a huge weirdo, I LIKE them.
kllrwlf:
That looks like some awful knockoff.
tony77tony77:
wow very disappointed in Hasbro right now. look like some thing they just slap together really fast to make a fast buck. thats a pass for me BIG time.
Silent_Magnus:
Now that some time has passed.
I do like them more, especially with the evidence of how they're suppose to transform.
Still a bit disappointed and still hope they get other toys.
