Somehow reminds me of Magnokor from Inhumanoids. Very, very unusual stuff - I wonder how the 'combining in robot mode' gimmick works.

I have to admit, they're slightly disapponting, mainly because they look so different in the show, so I'm disappointed to see they're repaints of the same sculpt but with different heads.
Still, they do look cool. Except for the back ends of their jet modes-- do they have any thrusters at all?

The alt modes are pretty bad. the rear area is pretty much untransformed legs. Wings would help.
Bot mode for the singles are fine, albeit skinny, but the proportions of the combiners are just wtf.

looks like lots of back kibble too...and the heads dont split, so they must tuck somewhere and have a half head that pops out...

Interesting, definitely interesting. They look a bit odd, but not too bad. They look a little misstransformed in places, and I hope that they have hands. Their combined modes are pretty cool too. Especially their new head in combined bot-mode. I wasn't expecting them to be Elite Guard members, or pretty much the same mold. I might get them, I might not. They are currently on my to-get list. Is it just me, or is anybody else getting a Technobot vibe from Jetfire? That's not a bad thing, just not something I was expecting.

Wow.......that just saved me $20. They look like crap. The vehicles look fine individually, but the combining doesn't even count. It's just one jet lying on top of the other. As for the robots, WTF? They don't even have hands and the symmetrical combining makes them look even worse. The robot having two different colored halves is one of the dumbest ideas I've ever heard. I think this is the first complete failure of a toy we've had in animated. Every other toy had some redeeming quality, this has none.

Well, this is a slight disappointment.
I was hoping for Beast Machines Jetstorm style legs - that is, the flying V-shape.
And the vehicle modes look more like F-Zero cars than jets.

I was REALLY hoping that the Constructicons would do symmetrical docking. This, at the very least, leaves me with hope that someone at Hasbro is at least thinking about the concept.

These would look average if their arms were better, but as-is I'm also unimpressed. Of course i will wait unti I see better pics before I really judge them. Still, even if they do turn out average, it was missed opportunity to have some really great toys.

These are some of the strangest TFs I've ever seen and I think I have to own them on sheer freak factor alone. I can usually forgive a toy looking awful if it has decent enough play value.

I don't know which is which, but the one in Blue Angels deco looks nice, a maybe if he was sold seperatley for me. The orange one just looks like a really cheap retooled head to me. And combined robot mode? It looks like either the fusion technique from DBZ gone horribly wrong, or better yet, like that Orange and blue Striker base evil robot from Custom Robo 2 (Japan only release, but there's a trophy of it in Super Smash Bros. Melee).
Maybe I'll get the set if it goes for $15, but this is a no for me otherwise.

They really look more like Sentai/Power Rangers than Transformer robots to me. The 'bot modes look to be lacking in the articulation department and they don't scream "Animated". Those Pretender-esque "alt-modes" I'm just not feeling, either.

I like both bot modes and the individual alt-modes but the combined alt-mode doesn't do much for me. Still, like the rest of Animated these are easy purchases.
