New Images Of Animated Rodimus Minor And Oil Slick Repaint

Is Hasbro trying to burn down every toy store in the country? They might pull it off with how much peg warming the first Oil Slick has been doing. Adding another could be too much.

Rodimus as AWESOME! Too bad he is going to have shoulders like Sentinel Prime.

Oil Slick was not shown at BotCon. I really doubt this repaint will see the llight of day.

Not half as good as Classics Hot Rod but for an Animated toy it doesn't look awful.

Easy pass on both unless reviews on Rodimus really impress me. The spoiler is way too high up on his back and I don't like the bow.

The first Oil Slick didn't sell and this one would sell even worse. It may be for the best that it never comes out.

Well, when you post 3 times in a row like this, that tends to happen....

The "official" pics are always photoshopped and sprused up to look super-fantastic. Still, it's easy to draw opinions about how people will feel about the actual releases based on these pics.

New Dark chocolate Rodimus Minor and Lemon-Lime Oil Slick. Each with a delicious crunchy outside with a plastic crack filling.

I don't know if it's just me, but I was expecting more from the "and more" part of the title. Was it that tough to say "Rodimus and Oil Slick"? It seems to imply way more pictures than delivered.

Rodimus Minor looks good, though he's also a very good example of how extreme photoshoping can go horribly wrong. Oil Slick looks good too. I'll definitely be getting RM, and most likely OS too (since I never got the first one). I really like RM's bow weapon. Looks a bit big in alt-mode, but it's pretty much perfect in bot-mode. Too bad there aren't any pictures of Blackout and Wingblade Prime yet.

I love Rodimus, although something does look off in his face sculpt.

i would buy that rodimus if it wasn't for the head. the animated style heads always throw me off.

Anyways, Oil Slick looks like a pretty nifty repaint, I had a feeling they would have done a more show-accurate paint job on him if the line had continued. As it is, though, if they had to drop one planned repaint from the line, I'm glad it is/was this one.

I like to see these sold as a twin pack with a more general release red Rodimus as a single carded item.

I think the world can do with out another Oilslick as a single carded item he was to much of a shelf hugger to sell again one of my local stores has 11 of them.

He looks like he spent some time at the Oil House before going hunting.

Nice stuff. I suppose if the Oil Slick repaint is not to be released, I can live with it. (I might feel worse about it if the repaint was closer to the animation colors.)

Rodimus is not that dark at all. It's the photoshopping.

I'm prepared to dodge the stones and boulders that get thrown at me for this, but honestly..IMO, with or without photoshop, Rodimus looks like a biig thumbs down >_>;; I'd buy Energon Rodimus over him.

Oil Slick however, may have just won me over along with Electrostatic Soundwave..

I think Hasbro forgot to add a freaking nose on Rodimus Prime's face.

Oil Slick has excactly the same colors in a different layout. I don't really qualify that as a redeco unless it has a damn good reason, which it doesn't seem to have.
Rodimus looks good, although the difference in width between his waist and torso is a bit yikes. Face is also a bit messed up but that will be easy to fix.

Anyone care to explain why he is called Rodimus Minor? And I want to see Blackout now damnit!

It seems to be a rank thing: Minor, Prime & Magnus. My guess is that Rodimus outranks a lot of the other bots, which is why he is leading his own little platoon, but hasn't quite hit Prime status yet. But I'm sure I'm wrong.

If it IS a rank thing, then I'm really confused about the Magnus title since it would mean that Ultra Magnus' normal name is... well... Ultra. Or who knows, maybe the whole rank title is Ultra Magnus and his real name is Dion... which could mean there were other Ultra Magnus' before and there will be after.

I don't claim to know what I'm talking about Just speculating.

To add to what's been said already, Hasbro doesn't want to generalise the 'Prime' suffix. SO they called him Minor. Frankly if they're had just stuck with the three primes I don't think that'd have been too bad. Rodimus, Sentinel and Optimus are all a bit hollow without their proper titles, IMHO. I guess 2 out of 3 isn't bad.

Im loving these especially Rodimus at Botcon they did say there could be a couple of animated exclusives released throughout 2009 and '10. This could be one of them possibly another battle set or single release. Im saying they will be released at target right around black friday, target does get the better run of animated figures. I say bring on the animated exclusives long live animated. I need a new wave of animated =)

At first glance that Oilslick hardly looks any different from the first one...If they're really going to do a repaint of that guy, I think they could have done something better then that.

Rodimus looks awesome. Though I am kinda disappointed that his bow sticks out so much in his alt-mode. I was kinda hoping it folded back behind his spoiler a bit more then that...Eh well, he still looks like a great figure.

You know, I wouldn't be surprise if this turns out to be a two pack of Rodimus and Oilslick together. Slick's paint does kinda look like his deco did in the show, now that I think of it. Maybe they're doing this up as a representation of that scene.
I'd be a little bummed out though, because I really would rather not have to buy another Oilslick just to get Rodimus.

I would too i just want a rodimus but if there is any chance of getting him even if they might be a battle set im down. they could possibly be released a bit earlier as a target exclusive. i might be wrong but i think they might be holding off on animated figs so they could be tied in with the release of the season 3 dvd, just a massive release of what could be the last of animated.

Look great, but man they need to cut it out with the overkill 'doesn't look anything whatsoever like the actual physical toy' photoshopping already. It's just getting worse and worse with the false representation.
