Wow. It just keeps getting better and better. Hurry up and release the line already. I dont think I can last much longer.
Silent_Magnus:
I love his Jaw in both modes,
it just gives him so much personality.
nkelsch:
I dunno... Figure Size doesn't seem to be bothering me much at all. He is on average pretty large compared to the rest of the figs... I think the only one that was glaring was Bulkhead, so we got a leader fig of him. I mean we are going to have at least 6-7 characters that are LARGER THAN LIFE and they all don't deserve leader-class figures and it would be suicide to make them.
We are going to have to live with mini Grim, Lugnut, Ultramagnus...
And Grimlock's toy has always been small and he has always been overly exaggerated in size in medium. Look at what IDW did with BW grim and look how tiny Energon Grim's Figure is... And Classics grim? At least this line he stands taller than prime and has some girth to him.
Turcicus:
That's certified bad @$$ right there, my friends.
doomtron:
grimlock rules!
microclone:
one thing the designers have got very right here is the rather simple detail level, theres little about this toys thats 'wrong', sure, some wont like the jaw but thats what the line is about, its exaggetates stuff without it becoming ridiculous. overall the character is there, the shapes flow well together, the actaul TF looks like it will again be simple, intuitive and satisfying. theres just the right amount of kibble, and alt parts forming robo parts, to my mind this is so much better than the classics version. I bet this is at the top of many fans most wanted list.
Destron23:
Does his flame sword fit in somewhere in his Beast mode?

I'm with you on seriously doubting the likelihood of Leader Grimmy and Lugnut, though.
microclone:
im still thinking that the orange claws, dino arms and tail end will be in the metallic paint.
In the G1 toy these were all metallic (chromed) which suggests they could be painted gold, however what i see is that the parts in metallic paint are those where the paint is part of the detail over another plastic colour, the orange parts are peices that in their entirety would? be metallic so for the puroposes of this testpiece? the unpainted orange parts were adequate to demonstrate the toy. whereas the metallic details on the legs, or large ches area were needed to show the effect of the application. if you see what i mean. edit, actually the chest front half could disprove my idea, maybe that was moulded in the dark plastic like the back half?? anyway, im not going to waste any more speculation, time will tell....

"Ooh! Will they make a Leader version of Grimlock?"
If it were up to you, EVERY figure would be a Leader. Frankly, you should be happy with the Voyager class as it is. Remember, smaller figures are cheaper, and some of us are more concerned with money than a few extra inches. mirarage: Quote:

Thanks for the pics, peaugh. I'm looking forward to the video review. I hope you're doing one.
About the arms, maybe if you extend the arms all the out first, then maybe the forearm and elbow piece slide into the upper arm/shoulder section; it looks like there's room. Just a thought.
Soundwave84:
yeah this is a must buy for me when it comes out
Fort Max:
There's currently only 3 leader figures scheduled for this fiscal year.
There could be more later on but I strongly suspect that Animated will take a backseat to the 2nd movie in the majority of 09.
Personally I hope that animated picks back up after the movie sequel has done it's stuff and perhaps this time, not overstayed it's welcome...

SPLIT LIP:
Awesome figure. Deffinately Voyager sized. Deffinately awesome.
shroobmaster:
God do I HATE Hasbro! They want to make me poor already! There's only 3 figures that I DON'T want so far!

Secondly, when it comes to a person's creativity, such as reviews, fan art or fan fics, I prefer to be critical and offer advice rather than dish out generic, mindless praise like everyone else, which does zippo to help that person improve. As a matter of fact, I've just written a few tips for Peaugh on the feedback forum. Now unless you have something worthwhile to contribute to this thread, get off my back, Smog.

Peaugh, I just wanted to thank you for taking all of these pictures and making your reviews of these toys. You have been the most informative source of information about these toys so far and I plan on getting one of each as a result. Thanks again, grayman.

Well, yeah, but even I took issue with the feedback post. One, that past was made a while back, and I'm not going back and redoing every feedback post to suit your whim, and two, seriously, it really is getting annoying. I'm doing this for fun, not to be every other freaking review site out there.
Optimus Scourge:
I like the reviews, myself. Keep 'em coming!
And arguing about someones' style is just not cool at all.
On topic, Grimmy looks hawt! he is so bought!
Darkspeed:
Thanks for posting such brilliant pics... I was already sold on Grimlock, but now the itch to buy him is WAY greater! ^^; Really loving the colour scheme used, this one's going to have pride of place on my shelf!
DINOBOTT:
That is AWESOME! I'll put in a vote for leader class grimmy.

As for a leader Grimlock NO STFU! He is as tall is voyager Prime . If i remeber in the show they are probably the same size. But I hope there is a leader class lugnut to match up with bulkhead.
Dinobot Snarl:
I wish the owner would take to the time to get his arms right in robot mode and legs right in dino mode, very off putting after seeing the protos done correctly. I like how they managed to cover the back of his legs, unlike the original G1. The transparent chest is a nice touch, I approve. The trapjaw...hhh, I mean, its Grimlock..he looks more like his name now. I'm looking forward to this guy, but I'm looking more forward to Snarl and Swoop.

Really?! I don't?! Seriously? Me taking issue with the fact that you jump into EVERY feedback thread I've started to point out "that's not a review, that's an overview" is me not being open minded? All I said was I wasn't going back and redoing every feedback post to your satisfaction. I've actually incorporated a lot of people's feedback into video reviews, like Fort Max's "I'd like to see how the joints work."
Dinobot Snarl:
One more thing, as to the weapons not fitting in beast mode, I actually like that a lot. How many times do you see a combatant lose his weapon in a fight, if it were an integral part...like Classics Grimlock's UGLY sword, or Mirage's gun, the alt mode is affected if its lost or destroyed. Of course the Dinobots have energy based weapons, so I don't care if they show up out of nowhere. Heck, Optimus pulled this (the gun from nowhere all) move all through G1.
Lugnut is a perfect example, if he loses that mace of doom he can't transform properly. But it seems to be a weapon of last resort, so I'm not all that upset about that.

Now unless you have something worthwhile to contribute to this thread, get off my back, Smog. | Glitcher, the fact is, you're kind of being a dick with all these posts. If we didn't know better, it's almost as if your trying to instigate a fight with Peaugh considering how you have to drop your one-liner quips and rolling eyes emoticons in every thread he starts. You want a full blown review? Either wait to get the figures yourself or sit tight for a toy mag to walk you through it step by step.
You can split hairs all you want of "review" vs. "overview" - it doesn't matter - the rest of us with common sense appreciate Peaugh's efforts nonetheless and have MORE than enough to go on in way of what these figures offer and/or lack. It's just a toy man. We're not talking about movies, books or CD's here - we're being shown what 2 different alt modes look like, the transformation process of getting from one mode to the other, and finding out along the way little tips & tricks. What more do you want? A scale rating of 1 out 10? A grade rating of A- to F? With the attitude you've been displaying, it wouldn't matter anyway. Either you're going to buy it or you're not - Peaugh's reviews aren't going to sway your decision one way or another.
So unless YOU have something worthwhile to contribute to ANY of these threads, get off Peaugh's back with your constant stream of snarky comments and save the rest of us the attitude problem.

At the very least, the responses you've gotten from others right here in this thread should be reason enough to reflect on your approach in matters like this. Sometimes the problem isn't other people. Sometimes the problem is on your side.
Perhaps my critique of your netiquette (otherwise known as me "getting on your back") might be unsolicited and out of place, but I prefer to be critical and offer advice rather than dish out generic tolerance and mindless emoticons like others... which does zippo to help someone improve their manners.

I want to see Grimlock next to Slag and Swoop.
I have a feeling when we See those toys the first thing people are going to say is "I hope we get a leader class."

Thanks, Peaugh, for again giving us more great TFA news!

His mouth can open. I'm fairly certain that the little button on the back of his neck activates a chomping gimmick. I'm willing to bet that you can use the sword to simulate fire breath, although whether that's an "official" gimmick or not, I won't know until next week.
REDLINE:
I wonder why they decided to go with such a washed-out maroon for his red color.

| I think he may have a slot to slide the peg on the sword handle into the mouth to secure it.

hey guys i think the arms are mistransformed!

I never intended to impose on Peaugh. I never said or implied anything along the lines of "Do it my way... or else!" If he disagrees with my advice, that's fine, he's entitled to that. But the snash I've been getting from everyone so far makes me believe that people aren't opposed to my criticism, but the fact that I'm giving criticism in the first place!
In forums like this, dissonant voices towards another member's work, justified or not, are severely chastised. Of course, it's easier to offer and listen to praise than criticism. It's easier to say, "Boy, I did something really good!" than say, "How can I do it better?" But it's the people who see faults in their work and look for ways to fix it that improve the quickest. Ultimately, the choice is yours whether or not you wish to follow advice, but don't chew out the person who gave it, okay?
Back on topic about Grimlock, I'm getting more concerned about his arms. This is the second time we've seen them 'mistransformed', but I'm wondering if that's really the case. There doesn't seem to be any slot on the back of the elbows for the black section to slide in. For all we know, Grimlock's forearms are meant to dangle out in front like that. I just hope that isn't the case. | | Tools and Information | | | | | | | New Animated Grimlock Images with Comparison Reference - Transformers News.
