I can't even find the words to describe how dumb that Laserbeak looks. A giant electric guitar... as big as an SUV... just sitting on top of it.

Would have been nice if he came with some sort of weapon instead.

i knew i'd be buying him a long time ago. finally a shot of his back - i quite like that "power" symbol on his deco. yknow, the symbol on all of our electronics to turn them on. very cool!

Because there's nothing keeping you from transforming Laserbeak separate of Soundwave.

I was going to say there isn't enough cassette tape player homages in his vehicle mode.

He should be out long before Christmas as Sentinel and Swoop are coming after Soundwave and they're due in sept.

I know what you mean. Im not going to put LB on top. Looks stupid. But I do like LB as a guitar. SW is my favorate TF of all times but this one is the far least that I like. LB kicks ass tho. Hoping for Soundblaster w/Buzzsaw.

im hoping since they made Laserbeak as a guitar, they make an entire mini-group of his "casettes" like retooling the electric guitar into a bass guitar for buzzsaw, rumble/frenzy as amps, and Ravage as a keyboard-if Ratbat is in it, how about him like a soundtable/mix thingy, maybe switching Raage and Ratbat, but i like it the other way-now sell them as like minicon pack, like 2 or 3 in each one at a deluxe pricepoint...

So sorry if I slept on this info, but so is he deluxe then?

Really though, I want this figure a lot, he's in my to-buy list. I wonder if the Deco glows in the dark..

this is probably my 2nd fave animated toy after lugnut.

theres lots I love about this toy: the bizarrely incorporated homage to g1, the strong colours, the actual alt and bot modes themselves, the use of car parts for the bot, the rather comical feel of the whole thing inclding the laserbeak guitar. edith and it oozes character too despite the robotic face.

it reminds me a lot of a diaclone type toy with its chunkyness. the Tf sequence appears to be simplistic though involved enough to be fun but of course that is yet to be seen. An awesome update to a toy close not far off 30 years old. one of the few Tf where i will likely buy more than 1.

further, when i compare this toy with its homage, comic quirkyness and good looks anyway it makes cybertron and movie toys seem so utterly stale and one dimensional.

Not bad lookin', my favorite thing about him is that bright greenish-blue paint.

Well I was going to say a lot of glowing things about the figure but Microclone beat me to all the good stuff.

Lots of cool looking toys for the Animated line but Soundwave is at the top of my must have list.

Very cool pics. Can't wait to own Soundwave. Laserbeak's a little on the big side, especially for a guitar, but I can live with it.

I loved seeing Soundwave at BotCon. So far virtually everything Animated I've seen I want to buy.

Soundwave is definetly on my to-get list. He's one that I wouldn't mind seeing repainted for this line, as he could easily be repainted as Soundblaster, and Laserbeak as Buzzsaw. If Hasbro doesn't do it, it probably wouldn't be that hard for FP to do it for next years Botcon. An Animated set would be pretty cool, imo, though I can imagine them doing another "Classics" set because of the 25th Ann..

I could see this being slightly remolded into Optimus Primal, different head and maybe a surfboard or something (for a hoverboard) on its roof. Maybe even a "woody" deco.

A new Soundwave toy of any sort is always cause for celebration. The fact that this one has so much character and comic charm to it is just icing. Delicious, delicious icing.

I could not agree more. It's like they forced the tape player look into him. The play/stop/forward/bak buttons look out of place on the bumper. Will still get him though

I don't know what go-bots you guys had where you live, but this is a fairly good ways away from anything I ever saw labeled as one at retail.

man, the neon green/blue on his sides is making me think of tron. another 80's flashback! however, I really dislike the head for this one, and if you take away the paint apps there's nothing that really makes this scream soundwave anymore. I may end up with one and switch it with a different head or something...

I like this figure a lot... an easy buy for me. BUT I agree with the earlier comments. He does owe a strong aesthetic debt to those Hasbro Go-Bots (the kiddie TFs from a few years back). He totally fits with them visually.
