Higekumatoytoy Blog has posted Japanese language reviews of the Autobot Junior Officers, Jetfire and Jetstorm, as well as their combined form Safeguard. Unlike their US release, this pair are available both as a set (boxed set “G”) and as individual carded releases. Their main differences from their US versions are shiny finishes on their chest and leg parts. Check out the reviews by clicking on the links above, or our choice of the best images by clicking on the title of this story. Jetfire and Jetstorm, along with Thundercracker, Skywarp, Soundblaster and the Safeguard two pack, are a part of the latest wave of Animated toys to be released in Japan by Takara-Tomy and are due to hit retail any day now.

They don't have a japanese version of the comic they were sold with in the US version?

The Chrome aps do look good, though I do like the Hasbro Color model quite well. It fits the show. Would like to own both ;D
Personally I don't get how often these toys are bashed by TFA fans. I'm guessing it's mostly by those who don't own them. They're so fun to transform back and forth. My only complaints are the hands could be more articulated (but most TFs have sucky hands, lets be honest). Also the hip skirts pop off, but that's okay).

^So awesome!
Thanks for the link!

I remember I was pretty "meh" at the first images of the twins, but after looking at them a while found them acceptable enough to buy them (plus they were cheap here). Once bought I couldn't put them down, i fiddled and played with them for days, and it's still fun to change them back and forth through all forms. Even the combined starfighter mode is fun and customizable, they're just that fun. I still sometimes pick them up, like I do with so many of my other animated figs.

Ditto. Now I just wish Hasbro wasn't afraid of chrome…

I've never gotten around to opening my Jet Twins pack from ages back. I'm just not that excited about them. I think it's the blocky arms. And the iffy alt modes. And that both figures are pretty much the same. Certainly a couple of the lesser figures from the Animated line.
So, point to my post, they still don't look anything special here. Even with shiny disco trousers.
Maybe one day I'll open mine and change my mind though. Regardless, one set is enough for me.

Apparently the distribution of metallic paint is for the benefit of the combined form, cause seperately, it's lower legs, chest, and that's it, in best 'Henkei random chrome' fashion.

Nice Box
If you play with these toys, you may realize, as I did that they are…
SUPER FUN AND AWESOME.
They are among my favorite unique toys in a great line. Just sayin'.

Rotorstorm
Nice, shame the toys are the most disappointing of the animated line
MrByatis
They got some nice sparkly calves

ooooooohhhhhhh!!!!!!! I knew it couldn't be true! lol
Sol Fury
Nice
The shinier plastic looks a lot more balanced in the combined mode since it's both arms, legs and the chest.

They are available both individually and as a boxed set. A bit like how Magnaboss and Tripredacus were released as a part of the Beast Wars Second series.

Thats weird, Takara didn't go for the box set?
