eToys Catalog Reveals Animated Ultra Magnus and Megatron Repaints

Okay, this is my first time posting outside the Toy Sightings section, so I hope I’m not posting old news. I searched for “eToys Catalog” and didn’t come up with anything so here goes.

I received my 2008 Holiday eToys Catalog in the mail today, and page 105 is entirely dedicated to Transformers.

It shows the following:

Those redecos were named here but these are the first photos I've seen.

That Roadbuster-coloured Magnus is really nice.

Yep, first image of Roadbuster Magnus. Doesn't look half bad, although it looks like the head is still blue a la early Eliute Guard Bumblebee pics. I hope they fix that for release, and maybe change the color on the clear plastic on the shoulder cannons and hammer. Probably won't pick it up unless there's a show specific reason for him to be that color, but it looks alright.

If that 25th Anniv. Prime has long smokestacks.... and a Roller that actually launches.... I might consider buying it.

Magnus' redeco is kinda nice. The angle of the photo makes him look like a God, though.

I'm pretty sure he's already been confirmed to have the short stacks.

Pretty much what I expected.

hmmmm megs chest makes me think of the cobra logo, and magnus looks cool, though a rather odd choice of colours imo.

the two leader repaints are hideous and i find it funny that the two kids are playing with the worst toys shown. worst by far!!! i almost forgot how much of a tragedy movie "megs" was and is.

A little bit less bulkhead-ish than I was expecting.
Don't like this re-paint. Shadow blade megatron on the other hand....

Probably gonna get the original Magnus too...not that big fan of Roadbuster

If it were a new character I'd be sold, as it stands, it looks nice, but I doubt I'll pick it up.

Oh HELL yes, I knew Roadbuster was coming but I forgot about him until this picture surfaced. There's no way I'm getting UM when this guy is coming down the pipe. I'm a sucker for green.

Seeing the Roadbuster Magnus, is there any doubt he wouldn't make an awesome TFA Onslaught kitbash! I think not!

They look pretty neat in my opinion.

Camo colors are somethin' different for Ultra Magnus (he's always been white and blue (occasionally with red), and I'm always open for new stuff. Shadow Blade Megs actually looks pretty neat.

So neat, but I'm gonna pass to get the regulars.

Come to think of it, it does. It even has the Con logo in the center like the cross-over logo. Good eye.

I just knew he'd be a Roadbuster homage, I wonder if they have new voice clips though, that would be sweet.

from that photo I prefer the roadbuster magnus, the blue/grey scheme looks a bit bland in comparison.

My only issue with Shadow Blade Megs is that the bright silver they're using for the propellors and cannon really takes away from the "shadow" aspect.

As for Ultra Magnus; he reminds me of a tan-pants'd Hulk.

Hideous? No. Could be better? Yes. As for the movie leaders; PS Prime is just great, and Megs is a lot better if you think of that alt mode as some sort of dreadnought/star-destroyer type ship rather than a "jet".

Wow Today We Talked About Bad Repaints with Animated Rescue Ratchet and How Pointless a lot of the repaints are and they took ANOTHER Amazing Toy and Gave Him Ugly Colors. It make more Sense to have a all White Ultra Magnus but wow they like to choose Ugly Colors.

Shadow Blade Megatron looks pretty cool but it's a pointless repaint. Only repaints into a character of the same mold or a G1 Accurate Color Scheme Repaints are worth buying.

I would rather have,

Nightwatch Magnus

and

Stealth Megatron

Hell even Elite guard Bulkhead would be better.

The one bonus with Megs though is he looks like skywarp

Roadbuster Magnus looks really nice in vehicle mode.

Robot mode isn't winning me over so much. He totally need the green hammer of g-stone power.

Delicious! Galvy looks better than I anticipated.

I already saw megs when I went to comic con sooo... But the ultra magnus is tight!

Oh thank god I saw this roadbuster magnus pic before I found the first one as I can now buy the show colours without the slightest worry of a better version later on.

I just hope Hasbro realize in advance that the all but certain shitty sales of those TFA Leader repaints in no way reflects people's lack of interest in that size class, and therefore don't use them as excuses not to do more of NEW MOLDS that actually make some sense to the series.

Boring. I was expecting something like Blurr, or Swindle, at the very least.

Geez Hasbro, step it up. At least give us some nice pictures to look at.

I will be avoiding these Leader repaints. I very much prefer the original color schemes.

Of course I prefere the originals, but the repaints ain;t all that bad. Roadbuster Magnus especially, the camo colours looks sweet!

I'm looking forward to Shadow Blade Megatron, personally, I like it, but RB Magnus, no thanks.

I didn't expect to, but I actually like these repaints.

I won't buy them though, as I do not buy repaints of $40 figures. But I do like them.

I actually like the repaints of Mega and UM! May have to get them!

hey nice to see u posting here linear ranger havent talked to you since the ultimate daiboken dealings. and loving the roadbuster magnus thats one repaint i will definetly go for. i love g1 roadbuster i just wish i had one

I would like to wish for the animated leader megs to be retooled and repainted into animated galvatron.

I would like to wish for the animated ultra magnus to be retooled (head with face plate) and repainted into elite guard optimus prime (powerd convoy).

i'd buy those.

The Megs and UM redecos do look quite nice. The orange and green looks surprisingly good on Magnus, but I doubt I'll bite again at $40.

The Leader repaints are interesting looking, but not something I plan on getting. I personally hope that we somehow get Voyager molds for Earth Megs and Ultra Magnus.

... Okay now I'm glad I DIDN'T get the original Magnus yet.

I kind of glad so many people dislike the Roadbuster UM because it means I'll have a better chance actually finding him.

Looking closely at the UM repaint, it almost looks like he's got a silver-ish head.
I don't think "Roadbuster" I totally think "Brawn" when I look at that picture close-up.

Haha, maybe Animated Brawn finally got some... well... brawn to go with his attitude of itching to beat some Decepticons... made me laugh @ least.

Magnus looks really Roadbuster-y.

Doubt I'll get a second paint scheme on any of the leader molds (a little surprised they didn't go with Bulky for the repaint instead, but maybe that's saved for voyager class.), but damn, that is an unusually sweet-looking product photo for the Magnus repaint.

im going to have to stick with the original magnus and megs i think
