We have even more news coming out of Japan’s C3 X Hobby for you today! This time it’s a full run down of the Transformers Animated display, showing many of the mass retail release items (as well as the Lucky Draw Silver Animated Bumblebee).
On show were next month’s releases, Wingblade Optimus Prime (now confirmed to be a crystal version of the regular Voyager Class toy, with solid colored armor parts) Jet Pack Bumblebee (with shiny gold finish to his robot mode) and Cybertron Mode Ratchet (who features metallic red in similar places to his Earth mode toy).
Also on show were the October releases, Lights and Sounds Optimus Prime (with full metallic finish), Lights and Sounds Ironhide (with very nice weathering once again evident), Decepticon Shockwave Original Version (who sports a very nice metallic purple finish), Oil Slick (with metallic finish on his green parts) and Armorhide (who has some metallic red particularly on his chest and shoulders. The rest looks the same as the US Toys R Us Exclusive Ironhide release). Also on show were the Animated Super Collection, these look more or less identical to the Animated Activators other than full color faction symbols.
The coverage of the display is rounded out with the next four releases in the Movie Series Autobot Alliance line. These will be:
– AA-11 Highbrow
– AA-12 Tomahawk
– AA-13 Hailstorm
– AA-14 Terradive
No variations were evident, but it is possible like the different versions of the initial Autobot Alliance releases we reported on earlier today, that we might find out all four have differences compared to their US releases nearer the time these four are planned for release.
Also be sure to check out these videos showing some of the highlights of the event, including a large display of Transformers lines from years past:

Mp-RODIMUS CONVOY(PRIME) and HOT RODIMUS
Good evening. A photograph of RODIMUS CONVOY became slow.
Others have already shown a photograph from the front,; but I from the side and the back took a picture. This may be useful for the confirmation of the shape.

wing blade optimus!
MUST GET!

Not digging opaque parts on a clear toy.
Highbrow's hands & feet are terrible, will be staying well clear.
Tomahawk's deco looks underwhelming in these pics, which is odd as I liked it before. Hmm :S
There are several other factions… my favourite being the denizens of the 'Dead Universe' in the IDW comics.

Nah, the armor looks completely opaque. The shiny paint does make it look transparent in some of the photos.
brr-icy
even parts of the armor are clear? that sucks

No. New mold Deluxe Sideswipe… with guns.

So is that Rodimus Convoy video…

Not feeling the clear Wingblade Prime. I'll just keep the armor parts and sell the figure if someone wants it.

Several months later?

I never said I was surprised, just disappointed.
The fact that they're changing the final product -one more time- just lead me to tell my appreciation on the whole fiasco about this figure.

A toyline which ,perhaps more than any other TF line so far, is sold on the basis of show accuracy, yet Takara have managed to 'improve' a large chunk of the line.
More cost. Less accuracy.
The fact that Takara are putting the Wingblade accessories on the Voyager mold, and that the toy is "shiny" shouldn't be a surprise to anyone who was paying attention.
Detroa
I'm pretty disappointed with Wingblade Prime.
The one we saw in the first place (mat paint, Deluxe version) was really amazing but now, the jetpack is all shiny, the figure sold with is a Voyager (I think the jetpack looks way too small on him) and we don't even have a Deluxe Prime with mat paint and no battle damage (I'm not counting the japanese exclusve we saw yesterday).
I guess I could still sell the clear Voyager OP and repaint a Deluxe Prime with the jetpack but since the first version was exactly what I wanted, I'm REALLY disappointed by this.

HA sideswipe…..with guns?

Ahh you're all right, my memory is playing tricks on me.
I only have the Cybertron OP Deluxe not Earth mode, but I was really expecting the parts to look silly on the Deluxe size toy. Doesn't appear to be the case though:

Yep, back when WB Prime was still slated for a stateside release the set was supposed to be comprised of deluxe Prime and the armor (to be sold at the voyager price point).
Hasbro mentioned at BotCon the armor was also compatible with the voyager mold.
Takara releasing it with the voyager mold doesn't mean it shouldn't fit on the deluxe figure.
wgoodman
Not at all. They offer all of these figures in regular colors if you want them. I like having the option to pick up a clear one too.

Yes, also, the first images we saw of Wingblade Prime back… I want to say Botcon 09, showed the armor on the deluxe Earth mode Optimus mold. I can't be 100% sure, but it's likely the armor is compatible.
