Members who pre-ordered the Transformers: Animated voyager figures of Hydrodive Bumblebee & Golfire Grimlock received the following email from BBTS:
Hi – Hasbro has just informed us that this item has been cancelled, and as a result they will not be able to fill our orders. We apologize for the inconvenience. We have cancelled all preorders and removed the item from our site. Thanks

Could these figures just be postponed and pushed back to a later assortment? At this point no one knows, but we hope to eventually see these figures in the future.

The only thing I have to say about the animated line is that I think, for a mainline based off a cartoon, it lacked variety. It could just be my personal experience, but the first few waves came out, I bought what I wanted, and then rarely did I ever come back to the store to find something new I wanted. I could count on one hand how many deluxes I bought after the initial first month of releases and I still see that first month of releases on shelves. They all sold, at some point or another, but somehow that first group of toys gets restocked, or there would be 20 Ratchets and Blackarachnias or 20 Oilslicks. For some reason, I just didn't feel compelled to hunt for animated because it just wasn't keeping things coming at a steady pace.
Anyways, there could be a million reasons things got messed up, but I know for me, who cares first and foremost for the actual toys, it failed at holding my interest and making me spend money on it. Canceling a repaint and a flashy update of an already released character woudn't have salvaged the line.

Why? We'd finally have a Bumblebee in a decent scale with the rest of the Autobots..
Zaraxion1021
Oh well. I thought voyageur Bumblebee was a bad idea anyways…

This would make more sense, but im still sure we would have seen leaked stuff by now. If we don`t see anything in the next couple of weeks it either means security got better, or we will still be waiting.
Tash
That was just heresay, and all of the information we've gotten since then is pointing toward it not being the case.

I'm confused by this. If Animated is indeed being "pushed back" so that Animated toys due out in March come out in May and then the line continues as planned, why? You'd think Hasbro would want to get as many Animated toys out as possible BEFORE ROTF hits, since ROTF buys and shelf space would take away from new Animated purchases, not to mention stores wouldn't be as interested in stocking something that isn't from a huge movie, especially when the looks are so drastically different.
No matter how this whole thing turns out with Animated– cancelled or postponed– it makes no sense in some way or another.
dark69
we don't know that 100%

I don't know where you're getting this. Retailers are PULLING ANIMATED TOYS from the shelves on May 29th, the day that the new movie figs come out.
After that day, there will be no animated figs on Target or WM shelves.
Gryph
Animated is being pushed back to May. We already know this.

Someone cited something very early in this topic that a lot of people ignored because they were too busy mourning over the apparent loss of Animated. When a release date changes, online sellers get a notice that "This toy is no longer being released on March 15", so it registers as canceled. This same thing happened with Animated wave 4 in the UK.
Given that, I think it's safe to say that everyone claiming they had confirmation from someplace that the line was ending either got their information from someone who didn't know what they were talking about, or were just spreading rumors.

I just checked TFCC's store, and HD BB and Golfire Grimlock are now listed as a pre-order that will ship within 4 weeks of May 31st as opposed to the original March 15th.
Contradicts the info about Animated being done on May 29th, but why would they put this up…?
Dom
Im sure we will get them, but im not sure they are produced yet, otherwise we would have seen leaked samples on ebay

It's so close to the release date.. Production on these products has to be finished, right? I mean, they're somewhere, they've got to be. Makes more sense to sell them off than to destroy them..

Earlier, while browsing BBTS, I noticed this:
25th Anniversary – Vehicles Series 05 – Case of 4 – GI Joe 25th Anniversary & Classics Vehicles at BigBadToyStore
I think that's the G.I.Joe vehicle wave that was "cancelled" like HDBB and GFGL. Of interest is this:
I wouldn't be surprised if something similar happens to the cancelled TFA toys.
Sad news indeed though. I really wanted HDBB, and I'm seriously hoping Arcee isn't cancelled (again).
