Looks like there is at least one special feature, two Animated "shorts"!

I'm really curious what those shorts will be...

OK, I was already juggling the idea of buying this, but now I have to get it.

Well, since it's been stated that the Season 1 DVD will start with "Home is Where the Spark Is", this "movie" is necessary to get the complete TFA experience.

And those bonus shorts are just sweet, sweet gravy...

Interesting on the shorts. Don't know quite what to expect on them. Just guessing though, I seriously doubt there would be new material specifically animated for the DVD, so my guess is they are probably teaser clips from season 1 episodes to make the kids want the season 1 DVD set - or watch the show. Another possibility is the extras might be some of the pre-show test animation sequences heard about at Botcon (one example of which is the 'tunnel' sequence that appears in snips for the opening titles, and originally ending with Sari's tricycle converting into a jetpack), but that doesn't seem too likely to me.

damn it, i would so get this if it came in a nice wide screen format like they said they animated the show in. full screen on a dvd is just insulting.

But that's not supporting the series to well now is it?

If I have money to spare(after buying the toys) I'll buy this and the box sets.

Thank you, agree 100 percent. Kudos to the Venture Bros. team getting smart and going HD Widescreen for season three.

I hate how bumblebee is so advertised on the fronts. Its sorta makes up for it by the fact that Optimus is teabagging him.

A number of reasons:

1. You can watch it on a nice, big television screen instead of a tiny little youtube window.

2. Clean, crisp quality. No pixelated junk that comes from uploading and no pixerlated "ghosts" that happen when thyey air.

3. The extras, specifically the shorts.

4. If you live in a house with multiple people and one's on the computer, you can watch this anywhere you have a DVD player and a TV.

5. You'll have these forever. Who knows, maybe once the DVDs come out CN will take all the Animated eps off Youtude due to copyright laws.

There are additional reasons, but these are the main ones. They're also why I'm getting this and the seasonal DVDs when they come out.

and there's the fact that good DVD sales might give CN more incentive to do more seasons.

"Shorts" could mean a lot of things. Not many of them good.

Evidently people in show business (especially Transformers) don't know what light years mean.

Throughout Armada and Energon, they kept referring to 'light years' as a measurement of time, not distance.

Entertainment is a priviledge not a right.

I'm very anti pirating TV or films. When shows get cancelled and movies go lower in budget never worry you can always get that crap on youtube right.

If you like a show or film support it and buy the dvds this is how the industry survives.

And as an aside I would much rather watch a dvd version of things on my large screen tv than my computer.

i thought i read last week that this was actually in widescreen but shown fullscreen on TV. edit, ah so seemingly from season 3.

The tunnel sequence is on the DVD that comes in the OP vs. Megs two-pack, along with the full theme song. "Bolts and gears" FTW!

I hope the shorts will be original to the DVD. But even if they are not I'll still buy it.

didn't the creators say that the show was done in HD widescreen?

I can't wait to get this myself, shorts included. Though I do wish it was in widescreen as originally intended and all that, but ah well. :/

Hopefully this means they will crackdown on the youtubers and bootleg dvds, self proclaimed 'true fan' hypocrits. But ah well whatever, to each their own, but you know exactly who to blame if animated gets canned early on due to this.

Also, I see why the movie is seperate to the series as the real series production number count doesn't start till 'home is where the spark is" the movie was animated as an entire thing itself, that may or may not be broken apart later for additional episodes for reruns. It has one production number though, not 3. The initial order was for 26 episodes, and 1 tv movie. I just hope some fans instead of making bootleg dvd copies still, wisen up, and start making better slip jackets to put the full on set in. That'd ROCK! Cause the cover art is kinda lacking, but hey, the perk to dvds at least is you can always slip a new cover in, or make a box to put them all in. =D

Hopefully they DON'T crack down on Dark Prime doing the unreleased episodes.

After all, he's said he'll take down the episodes that go out on DVD.

So as long as we have our fix for the NEW episodes, all is good.

Same here, it said runtime 22 minutes and mentioned no extras so I assumed there was nothing new to see on it.

So glad I ordered the two-pack now.

And I'm so getting this. I'm gonna give Animated as much money as I can. I love this show and I want it to continue.

It was done in Widescreen, but never intended to broadcast in widescreen. So according to the guys at Botcon, the releases will be done full screen.

Wait a second.... june 22nd is when it comes out?

That's a sunday. I thought DVD's come out on Tuesdays?

But that's the toy lines streetdate, so I guess that makes sense.
