Animated Lugnut in Package Images with BIO lug1
Thanks to TFW2005 member Peaugh for new images of Transformers Animated Lugnut in package which shows the BIO and special gimmicks such as Rear Stabilizers that become the Power Mace and you can Slam the base to autoconvert it into a power mace, plus it has Mechanized auto-conversion. Check out the images by clicking the thumbnail to the left.

Peaugh:

Quote: All hail mighty MEGATRON!

Lugnut's bio:

LUGNUT has absolute faith in MEGATRON, and that makes him one of the most dangerous DECEPTICONS. He is fanatic in his service to the DECEPTICON cause, and is unquestioning in following the orders of his commander. His dedication is backed up by incredible strength and fighting skills that led to him being feared and respected across Cybertron. Each punch from his powerful hands carries the force of a small bomb, so the only way to survive a fight with him is to avoid ever letting him hit you. Unfortunately, he's almost as fast as he is strong.

Galactic abilities:

- Known as the "Kaon Krusher" on Cybertron.

- Mace is powered by a star core.

- Learned dirty fighting in the Grand Arena.

Shoutouts on box:

Plane mode:

-Poseable cannon turrets

-bombs open to reveal turbolasers

Robot mode:

-Rear Stabilizers become Power Mace

-Slam base to autoconvert into power mace

-Mechanized auto-conversion

The teal/grayish bits on the final version seem to be a little more rich and saturdated on the final version, but that's the only difference I can see.

Anyone know how to get a full-sized photo up on photobucket? I upload the larger pic, but it compresses it to be too small to make out the details.
shroobmaster:
Hhhmmm... so they're using the same bios for Hasbro's site after all!
I guess that means any character that shows up there is probrably getting some kind of toy!
Awesome!
hutchprime:
I'm hoping that is the case, because it would definitively say that we are getting a Swoop toy, which has not been confirmed yet, correct?
hotspot17:
Does the box show any other new figures we didn't see yet?
Peaugh:
i don't have any shots of the co-sells. I'll see what I can get.
Peaugh:
Crap, I have to pay to upgrade my photobucket account to host the fullszie image. Lemme see if my flickr account works.
Peaugh:
Nope. Lemme try editing it down a bit.
Super_Megatron:
Attach it to this thread in your first post.
Robogeek28:
Dammit Peaugh stop slacking off!!

j/k bud.
Peaugh:
There ya go.
shroobmaster:
Man I don't know what's better, his biiiig alt mode, or that awesome character art.
Primus:
This is brilliant. IMO Animated has become the pinnacle of what's possible with Transformers. I love the 2007 movie line but they can still be fairly complicated to transform. These appear to be simple and yet still manage to mirror the likeness from the show.
Hound & Mirage:
More stupid ugly gold/silver faction emblems. Bah und Humbug.

The dark teal color looks much better now.
hutchprime:
He's BEAUTIFUL!

Cannot wait for that fig...*runs to ebay*
jdre_124:
Damn Peaugh you are on top of stuff.

Is Lugnut going to be apart of Wave 2?
Robogeek28:
Still hoping for a Leader version.....he still looks good though!

Most likely wave 3 imo. wave 2 (Blackaracnia, Ratchet and V Op) we've been seeing in package pics for a few weeks now.

And he is Niiiiiiiiiiiice, looks so much better fully finished.

I'd say when is this going on ebay but there's not much chance I could afford it anyway.
Team Jetfire:
Nice!

I still can't figure out whey we have so many packaged pics of these guys and still nothing in the stores.
Yobuster:
Yeah I like the transformations for animated. They look simple but at the same time fun to transform. The movie ones were jsut too complex in most cases, can't ever remember all the bloody steps to transform then. Optimus was the only one which was complex BUT made sense.

Bring on animated, I can't wait. Just hope everyone will be able to get what they want and nobody will hoard them. Not like the movie line and short of stock.
Railguard:
These toys look really cool. I just got my Hasbro.com mag in the mail and the animated toys look great. I'm surprised that Prime is only 9.99 and Starscrea and Megatron are 19.99, thats just wierd. I'm tempted to order some but I have to think about it though because I still want the Universe toys and I only have so much money to go around.
Poho:
as fast as he is strong? but he's so fat! either way i dig him.

I seriously doubt they would release only one voyager for Wave 2, I think Lugnut, Prime and Grimlock are most likely the Wave 2 voyagers.

He's not fat. He's just big I-beamed.

Prime had no other Voyager figures on his Voyager cross sell but had BA & Ratchet on the deluxe cross sell, that's why I'm saying that those three are wave two. Grimlock/Lugnut & possibly Soundwave or Snarl should be making up wave 3.

Hhhmmm... if what you say end up being true, I hope it's something like the Movie Voyagers, the Wave 1 and Wave 2 had extremely close releases.

Heh, we're all hoping for that.

I think they mighty be something like bi-monthly, wave 1 is June in the US and I think I read somewhere that Voyager Prime is August or thereabouts.

We should know for sure after Botcon though.
nkelsch:
Does he have a water squirter? I thought I read that he had a gimmick that was a water squirter... maybe that is blitzwing?

No no the August thing is the release of Wave 1-2, with the Leader toys and other stuff.

The real wave 2 was going to be around Autumn so probably September.

If we use the movie assts as example, bulkhead & starscream are wave 1; 2 of each. Megs and prime become wave 2, with some megs thrown in wv 1.5. Lugnut and grimlock become wave 3.
Picture of lugnut's cross-sells would help settle the 'wave' matter. It might help if there was a sales flyer in the package with the instructions. Any chance you could slide them out and check.
Good find on lugnut and grimlock. I look forward to the grimlock video review.
Is there any chance you have blitzwing coming soon. fingers crossed.

That was just speculation when we got the first ebay pics and saw that there was some kinda gimmick in the tail.

Damn, well I guess I'll just have to console myself with the Leaders...
microclone:
awesome. im now findinhg the animated packaging to suit the toys, wish they were nice and square though. these have simply got to be more appealing in box than the movie toys.

All I know currently about Blitzwing is that he's super awesome and one of the best triple changers to date. I don't have any pics (yet) or any idea of when we might start seeing proto images. I've been promised photos as soon as permission is given to show them.

What, these guys are telling you when you can show pictures of stolen toys?

Voyager OP has a water squirter, I believe.

No, that was from a Hasbro rep who watches my youtube vids.
Gears:
Where are you getting these shots, and who is "WEPLAYTF-2?"

weplaytf2 is an ebay seller. The shots came from him and his auctions.
Beastbot X:
Lugnut's front box art makes it look like he just discovered he got a pony for his birthday.

Ah, I see. Thanks for the correction Peaugh.

Well that should mean that Blitzwing is done and waiting to be seen at Botcon.
microclone:
its great to get some drawn art on TF boxes again. im just trying to imagine a gen 1 style art version of lugnout on the box, that kindof defeats the point but thats an idea for some great fan art.
rattrap007:
love the quote..
Glitcher:
I guess what I like most about this box are the malapropisms. "Rear stabilizers"? Don't you mean the tail fins? And I suppose Decepticon 'thug' is a new military unit as opposed to the G1 'warriors'.

That's to trick the kids with awesome words.

"Turbolasers"? What the hell is that anyway?

I'm no expert, but I think both "rear stabilizers" and "tail fins" are appropiate terms:

Dinobot Snarl:
Everything about this figure is great, but the missing upper lip is killing it for me...
Peaugh:
It's not missing, his lip is there. Unless you're referring to the character design in general, then gotcha.
Dinobot Snarl:
well, in the cartoon, and even the box art shows that he has an upper lip, but the toy has the eye taking up all the space. I know its silly, but for some reason it bugs me.
QuinJester:
FOR PONY!

Lugnut looks pretty awesome. Hooray for big purple planes.

Any blame for "turbolasers" rests solely on Lucas and Star Wars' shoulders.

EDIT: Ignore out of place music: http://youtube.com/watch?v=JzpP5ZHdGlg
