Hell, I'll settle for a new mold based on Transmetal 2 Dinobot if I have to.

Also, I'm really hoping that Starscream is either Armada, or IDW F-22 style. But the Armada would be a nice counter to Hot Shot, what with celebrating "all generations".

The majority of those repaints hopefully I can pass on, they aren't original characters, and they probably won't show up in the show(heh). Well, expect Ramjet, now all we need is Bitchblast and Sunstorm in some fashion.

As it stands right now though, I can't see them making another Blackarachnia within the next few months, what with the Animated one already clogging shelves in many places. Damn shame too, the Animated one was good, and I'd like to see how they could handle another one.

I just read the news. New Universe deluxes, eh? Hmmm....

Maybe a Starscream with more G1 accurate colors and a painted face? Sort of like a "Premium" Classics Starscream.

And Dinobot, I have no idea...

I am wondering if the mold could be modified (like all orange wings) so the Megatron mold could be used or an Collector's Edition Online Only For Adults Only if stores have a problem with a reissue in Universe 2.0.

Prime-Mold Wise: I think it's a pretty interesting mold & I enjoy the truck mold (I have Ultra Magnus, SG Prime, and will have Nemesis Prime).

Actually, I'd buy that, as I do really like the mold. Now that I think about it, the mold would look quite good in Dinobot's color scheme. I might have to digibash that, lol.

Regarding Megatron, if they "crapped" him up too much, would it just defeat the purpose of releasing him? The US classics 1.0 version was already pushing it to the point where even a big Megatron fan like me was willing to pass. Add any more US-needed garbage like purple wings, orange polkadots, etc. would make it totally undesirable.

I think we've got to face facts here-Megatron's probably never going to be a gun here again in the US as far as Hasbro's concerned.

Really curious as to what the Deluxe Starscream listing could be. I don't want to throw fuel on the fire, but if it WAS a new mold Hasbro could get away with repainting it into Thundercracker, thus avoiding issues with the Botcon Classics release hmm?

It could be a repaint of the Cybertron Thundercracker deluxe.

I kinda hope not. It's not the best jet mold out there, and I'd much rather see them make a new mold homaging Armada Starscream.

I know! Activators Cliffjumper I could live with since the guy's small, but Starscream's clones need to be the same size as him! Even if it costs twice as much for the larger size, I really hope Hasbro will give us the needed repaints in their proper sizes. I mean, eventually Animated will be running out of popular G1 and Beast Wars characters, right? I'd rather they give us a Ramjet than, say, some obscure Micromaster name.

Dang it, I hope they do a complete run in at least one of the molds. I was actually keen on them all being activators, I wanted to display a Voyager SS with a ring of clones around him, like on the show. And Activators make it a little cheaper (and take up a little less display space ).

Gah, stupid stupidity. They went out of their way to make that thing big and bright and LEGAL. Nobody could mistake that for a real gun. When it becomes the cool thing for gangs to carry neon weaponry, then you can start making these stupid laws stupider.

It's sad that they seem to spend more effort making sure kids can't get toy guns than that criminals can't get real ones

Walmart Exclusive Divebomb's toy was the first time I've owned that mold(or at least opened the package). And I had no idea the rear wings were bendy plastic, as well as the little wings on the side. That whole figure just felt like a total PoS. It felt second rate. It didn't hold together well at all, plastic felt cheap, and the arms wouldn't stay in the shoulder in robot mode. That, and it's just a crappy mold with a retarded left arm.

Um, so yeah...not a fan of the mold.

yeah know, that mold had some really interesting ideas (i LOOOOOOVED the way the feet worked adn the design of the jet mode was fantastic), but it just didn't work ~ the huge gun arm, the way the body halves didn't peg together, the bendy plastic, the way the shoulders didn't peg into anything...

What about the toy guns that look like real guns with orange plugs like for example (sorry, can't go to a real store to actually show you so here is something)?



I agree with both of you in the sense of if they can sell real looking guns under $10 that look like any real gun besides "Orange Cap", what is wrong with selling a toy transformer in a similar light as long as it has famous cap?

exactly, my friend owns several airsoft pistols, and he always paints over the caps, they're virtually indistinguishable from real guns. we've even had people believe they were real. but god forbid we get a huge, wonky, brightly colored nerf gun that transforms into a robot. pah-lease.

Because Hasbro is a high-profile toy company and their reputation for toy safety is the highest in the business. You can't buy that kind of goodwill, and their legal team wants to go above and beyond to make sure kids aren't shot wielding a Megatron.

The fly-by-night company that makes the gun pictured above can make no such claim.

That's a very good point. Though I still don't get how US Classics Megs could POSSIBLY be mistaken for a real gun. It would make more sense to me if Hasbro declared they were getting rid of all "full size" gun toys (as in, not just accessories). But that would mean killing off all the nerf guns too...

...and since Megs was based on a Nerf gun design... what I want to know is in what ways are newer Nerf guns "less realistic" than that design?

What we need is some genius designers to make a great triple changer Megs (Robot => tank or spaceship or something => gun), and leave out the instructions for the gun mode. Let the fans discover it themselves

It has to be Armada Starscream - that's the only mold that needs upgrade. G1 Starscream already happened in Classics V1.0 and we saw that all the 25th toys are new molds, while the Energon/Cybertron/Movie Starscreams hardly need upgrade, but the Armada toy was a brick.

So Ramjet is gonna be an Activator too, they'll look silly next to the huge Starscream and Skywarp, but I guess that's the only way Hasbro can make them so I'm glad. I wager Sunstorm will be an Activator too, but I do hope Miss Starscream gets her own Deluxe toy...

Whatever happened to the promised and shown Animated toys, though, like the new Deluxe Lockdown with chainsaw, Wreck-Gar, and Waspinator?

That is a good point there especially since I doubt Classics Megatron can be mistaken for a real gun (Henkei obviously could, but not the Classics one) and besides, it doesn't even fire any bullets or missiles (which that I could understand why G1 Version of him was banned).

Besides, why not color him Optimus Prime's Colors and call him "General Megatron" or something like that?

I really hope not, Cuz if they are gonna do a new seeker mold (maybe taking some cues form the IDW F-22 design) i would PRAY that they go Voyager ~ deluxe Jets make me a sad panda... (i would think it'd be extremely desirable to hasbro to have a mold that you can easily redeco at least 4x and the fans will eat up)

i know it'll never happen now do to the classic mold, but a voyager F-15 mold that took some of the best ideas from Masterpiece Starscream (how the arms and head worked, the chest missiles for example) and combined them with the cleaner Transformation of the Deluxe mold would be abso-freaking-lutely immense. Here's my $80 Hasbro. Just make sure the wings can swing back at an angle to give the shoulders clear movement.

on the flip side i'd love to move past the F-15 and get either a F-22 or F-35.

I mirror the desire for a new mold for Beast Wars Dinobot, though a Gen 1 Dino would probably be OK too.

regarding the "Starscream", I would guess at this point that it's either a new repaint of the Classics mold, or possibly a repaint/rework of the Energon Starscream, which was an F-22, albeit a chunky one (not any more chunky than movie-scream though).

Another Starscream huh, well that's a year's worth if repaints sorted.

I'm excited by the possibility of a new Beast Wars Dinobot mold. Hopefully it'll be more screen-accurate! The original Dinobot mold didn't really resemble the show character, so I think anything new Hasbro comes up with will be an improvement.

Quite frankly, if she does get a new figure, I doubt it'll be COMPLETELY show-accurate. Since, y'know, selling a toy robot with huge breasts may not exactly be the best move.

I seriously hope it's Beast Wars Dinobot. It probably is, since an individual toy wouldn't be so vaguely labelled if it were actually a G1 Dinobot, since they all have names.

Well, given we're getting a Universe Cheetor, I think it's safe to say this will probably be BW Dinobot. Now here's hoping it's a new mold that's more show accurate, and not another repaint of the original mold or a classics Grimlock repaint.

Movie Starscream was chunkier but looked much better and accurate in F-22 alt mode than the Energon version.

I'm hoping for a G1-ish screamer, mostly just so I can repaint him cheaply into TC and SW.

Oh well - Movie-scream was trying to look like an F-22. Ener-scream was only sorta trying to look like an F-22. Considering movie hit about a %75 accuracy and Energon still got between 50 and 60 percent, I'm-a give it to Energon.

Here's the difference. The toy gun you have pictured here comes from some nobody company in the middle of China. Sure, they can be purchased from Walmart, the dollar stores, etc. but to actually sue that manufacturer would be difficult to say the least. Hasbro is a large, US-based, publically traded company. They would simply prefer to completely avoid the problem of potentially getting sued and dealing with the PR nightmare that would follow if one of their gun products was ever mistaken for the real deal and resulted in a death and/or lawsuit. They have a lot more to lose then some small factory in the middle of China or Taiwan.

In the dark, A Cop won't be able to tell the difference so I am saying if this Nerf Gun can be sold online/in stores and with the basis being the same since Megatron was "based" on this, to me...I see nothing wrong with re-releasing Classics Megatron as long as it is not in "actual" gun colors.
