Animated Electromagnetic Soundwave Images

Posted on 09-26-2011 at 11:56 AM by Sol Fury under Animated
Electromagnetic-Soundwave-1 Here's something I never thought we'd get to see - Ebay seller amoronline has listed an auction for the never-released Transformers Animated Activators Electromagnetic Soundwave. Electromagnetic Soundwave was a white recolor of the original Activators Soundwave, previously revealed when his instructions surfaced on Hasbro's website. His deco appeared in the two part "Human Error" storyline.

Like many later Transformers Animated releases, Electromagnetic Soundwave never made it past a handful of test shots. To be honest I never expected to see what the final product was meant to be like - so getting to see this, even if we can never own it, is a nice surprise.

Animated Menasor Official Head Design

Posted on 08-05-2011 at 12:04 PM by Sol Fury under Animated
Animated-Menasor-Head There's been some buzz this past week about what Animated Menasor's head should look like, thanks to the G1Upper's Animated Menasor head sketches. Now we have a sketch from the man himself, Derrick J. Wyatt, of what he thinks Animated Menasor's head looks like. Given Derrick J. Wyatt worked with Fun Publications to design the Animated Stunticons, and was the character designer for Transformers Animated, this is as close to a canonical head design for Animated Menasor as we are ever likely to see.

Click on the link above to check it out - it's very different from the G1Upper designs, and blends in the classic Menasor helmet look with the modern Animated Motormaster facial hair.

Gallery Update - Animated Activators Ramjet and Skywarp

Posted on 05-29-2011 at 03:57 PM by Sol Fury under Animated
activators-ramjet-40 We've got one more gallery update for you before Botcon 2011 kicks off - and in the spirit of the event, it's a Transformers Animated themed update! You undoubtedly saw earlier that Marcelo will have a print of the Starscream clone army available at Botcon - well here for your enjoyment are toys of two of the clones. These guys were only released in Japan through a Family Mart lottery draw, so they are very rare, especially Ramjet who was a mail away prize in exchange for non-winning tickets.

First up is Animated Activators Skywarp, the "C" Prize of the Family Mart prize draw. Bizarrely he's got a purple head in this iteration, although it does suit him and nicely break up all that black. He's a fun deco, and with the Activators of Starscream and Thundercracker, he rounds out the trio of the original Seekers in at least one size class for Animated.

Next up is Animated Activators Ramjet. Ramjet was the "second chance" prize, redeemable by sending in tickets for the lowest ranked items in the prize draw. This makes him the hardest of the Activators Seekers to get hold of, even harder than Dirge, but take a look at the gallery and you'll see he is well worth it.

Give mad props to 2005 Boards Photo Staff member SydneyY for bringing you these two galleries of awesome rare Animated goodness - and be sure to join us after Botcon for even more Animated goodness, when we share with you pictures of the convention exclusive toys in all their glory.

Animated Elite Guard Optimus Prime Gallery

Posted on 05-04-2011 at 01:18 PM by Sol Fury under Animated
Elite-Guard-Optimus-22 Our Transformers Toy Galleries have been updated! 2005 Boards photo staff member SydneyY has uploaded a new gallery for our Transformers Animated Toy Galleries - this time, we've got a gallery of Animated Elite Guard Optimus Prime for you. This piece was a Million Publishing mail-in exclusive, available by sending in a coupon found in the Japanese Transformers Animated Encyclopaedia book. The toy represents a what-if situation where Optimus Prime had stayed on and joined the Elite Guard instead of taking command of that fateful Spacebridge repair crew - and looks very sharp in red and black.
