2005 Boards member Masabon, and Japanese toy blog Danny Choo have posted some images from Winter Wonder Festival 2010. With many thanks to 2005 Boards member Masabon, we have many images of the Transformers display including the big models of Animated and Movie Optimus Prime waiting to greet guests and of course the toy display. Takara Tomy's Transformers Animated line is out in full force, and thanks to these images we have our first look at the packaging for the various different toys. Deluxe class toys come packaged on handsome cards, with red backgrounds for Autobots and purple backgrounds for Decepticons. The backer depicts a faceoff between Optimus Prime and Megatron. Voyagers come in similarly color coded window boxes, while the VS sets come in an open window box to show off both toys in robot mode with their heads turned toward each other.
Check out our mirror of the images by clicking the title of this story. Do you prefer the US packaging or the Japanese packaging? Sound off with what you think on our 2005 boards by clicking the discuss button. Update:
Masabon has provided us with an image and some more information on the Legends class Generation 1 redeco of Revenge of the Fallen Devastator. This small version of Devastator will come as a set not as individual carded releases like the movie colors release. Additionally with the new color scheme, two of the members have got new names! Hightower is now renamed to Hook, while Rampage is renamed to Bonecrusher, to match up with their Generation 1 ancestors. Overload though is still Overload, as he has no predecessor...

For those of you who enjoyed the Allspark Almanac which was an indepth guide to Transformers Animated, rejoice! Jim Sorenson and crew have more were that came from! Allspark Almanac Volume 2 is confirmed! Here's what Jim had to say at Disciples of Boltax: One of my loyal readers brought this to my attention, so I guess it's safe to share it with the world. The AllSpark Almanac II is now being solicited on Amazon.com. 220 pages, by Bill Forster and myself. I don't think I'm giving too much away to say that it will cover season 3. Here's the solicitation text: Transformers Animated is the most whimsical Transformers series ever. The AllSpark Almanac II captures that magic with a wondrous examination of this amazing universe. This 220 page volume is packed with behind-the-scenes sketches, interesting facts, production artwork and musings from the characters themselves. Relive the thrill of the final season of Animated and learn what might have been had the show continued. Explore the metallic plains of Cybertron and meet its colorful denizens. Discover more about the action-figures that accompanied the cartoon. Hard-core fans and neophytes alike will find this an essential tome. You won't want to miss it!
Now that the cat's out of the bag, I'd love to see a massive number of preorders of this thing. The higher this baby goes on the Amazon charts, the more likely I am to be able to keep making books like this. After all, there is a whole 'nother series that's recently been announced. (The Transformers: Prime Primer? Nah, that's terrible, but I'll have plenty of time to come up with a cool title.)
For those wondering what could have been with Transformers Animated, this is thee book to get!

Some interesting news has surfaced for the Japanese dub of Transformers Animated, courtesy of Livejournal user toriaki. First of all, we have news on the Japanese dub's theme song, which will be sung by the one and only JAM Project! JAM Project is made up of several well-known vocalists including Masaaki Endoh and Hironobu Kageyama, the latter of whom has previously provided the opening, ending and insert songs to Japanese Transformers series The Headmasters and Beast Wars Metals.
On the side of voice actors, toriaki's post also confirms who will be voicing Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Sari and Megatron in the Japanese dub of Transformers Animated. Optimus Prime will be voiced by Hiroki Takahashi, whose previous Transformers voice credits include Hellscream and Mantis in Beast Wars Second, plus Gildo and Build Hurricane in Car Robots (Japanese Robots in Disguise). Mr Takahashi is also known for providing the Japanese voice of Street Fighter's Ryu in Street Fighter IV and Tatsunako VS Capcom. Bumblebee meanwhile will be voiced by Daisuke Kishio, who previously voiced Kicker in Transformers Super Link (Japanese Transformers Energon), while Sari will be voiced by Satomi Akesaka. Saving the best for last, we have the legendary Norio Wakamoto playing Megatron. Mr Wakamoto has previously provided the voice of Flame Convoy in Transformers Galaxy Force (Japanese Transformers Cybertron) and is recognizable as the voice of anime villains everywhere. His most notable credits include Cell in the Japanese dub of Dragonball Z, and providing the Japanese voice of Vega (M Bison) in many of Capcom's Street Fighter titles.
Also mentioned in the livejournal posting is that the DVD / Blu Ray of Transformers Animated will be released in Japan starting in Fall 2010.

Slated for release in May to tie in to the release of Transformers Animated in Japan are these Transformers Animated "Battle Wheels". These spinning tops are going to be sold at the same pricepoint as Beyblade in Japan, and will appeal to the same audience sector. There are currently 10 styles planned - five featuring the Autobots, and five featuring the main Decepticons.

2005 Boards sponsor Red Leader of Kapow Toys has sent some images of a pair of interesting new Transformers Animated products from Takara-Tomy our way. These new sets recreate Optimus Prime and Bumblebee in Lego (or similar, Lego styled construction system). They are capable of transforming between robot and vehicle mode (with what looks like a minimum amount of part swapping) and appear to have basic levels of articulation in robot mode. They are due out in June.

A member of 4Chan reports that he has sighted the exclusive Transformers Animated Arcee figure at a Toys 'R Us store in Houston, TX. The item was not in the Toys 'R Us computers yet, so the cashier mistakenly rang up the item at Legends-class price. There is no confirmation if the Toys 'R Us exclusive Autobot Ratchet Cybertron Mode figure was also sighted. Check out the picture proof by clicking on the thumbnail to the left.
Update: panzerjedi of our 2005 Boards has sighted both at a Toys 'R Us in California. See the updated thumbnail picture to the left for proof.

These new images show off the robot and vehicle modes of these two new Animated toys, as well as in package images. As an added bonus, the bios have also been posted: Mudbuster Bulkhead: Sneaking has never been one of the things at which BULKHEAD excels. He prefers to change directly into action, causing as much chaos as possible. When he discovers the CONTSTRUCTICONS™ up to no good at a local construction site, that’s exactly what he does. Mud and debris spray up from his wheels as he speeds into the middle of the site, ready to smash DECEPTICONS® with his wrecking ball. Thundercracker: STARSCREAM® has a bad reputation for being arrogant, but his clone THUNDERCRACKER has perfected the art of being self-involved. He’s absolutely convinced that he’s the best looking, most talented, most dangerous robot ever built. He refuses to work with most other DECEPTICONS®, arguing that they just make him look bad. | | Credit: petes2177 of the 2005 Boards! | Views: 4,338 | | | Posted on 01-19-2010 at 10:47 AM by Tim Formas | Nikkei Net and Kyodo News are reporting several new developments regarding the premiere of Transformers Animated in Japan.

Ironhide (renamed Bulkhead)
Megatron
Starscream
Bumblebee
Prowl
Ratchet
There are some changes to several of the figures, most obvious of which are the colored faction symbols and the shiny, metallic paint decos. Take a look at images of both the alt and bot modes by clicking on the thumbnail.

The set is made up of the five main Autobots - Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Prowl, Bulkhead and Ratchet - and the Decepticon Starscream. Of particular interest as pointed out by The Allspark's DrSpengler is that Bulkhead is to be known as "Ironhide" in Japan. Where does that leave the actual Ironhide? (My bets on "Armorhide")
