Official Promotional Images of Binaltech BT-21 Arcee and BT-22 Convoy

I'm shocked if I'm the only one looking at that Arcee and thinking not "wow, it's Arcee!" but "Hmm... how could I TURN THAT INTO Arcee!"

Retool city, here we come! I need to play with Dcharge's transformation a little to see what I can come up with on that end, and custom Arcee heads are a given.

Are any of the other Arcee molds (other than movie) close enough to this scale?

I'm kinda psyched about since I don't have the Kiss Player one...and if it's diecast... all the better!

Everybody else has said anything I consider worth saying about BT Convoy here.

With regards to BT Arcee, I'll skip the obvious and drop the following idea:

If they weren't going to re-mold anything, they shouldn't have made it Arcee. They should've made what is now pink as red instead. That way they could've called it Minerva/Minelba. It's not like that character's original toy looked in any way feminine, either.

Eh, hopefully those in the Japanese market snap up enough of these for Takara-Tomy to put out something a little more appealing.

I chose Decepticharge as the base for the Alt. Elita-1 I had Clay customize for me last year. A new head can make a big difference on that mold.

As is, Arcee just kinda looks like Albino Decepticharge.

I know that Roulette/Shadowstriker were botcon exclusives( I know price points factor in here),but they got fairly fem retools,right?I do not own either,but from pics i've seen,you CAN tell the diff between them and Sideswipe/Sunstreaker.I'm in agreement that if Arcee wasn't going to be retooled she should have never made release,or that the line should stay dead,but at the same time I also agree that the line is awesome and any support may help us get what we want as far as new molds/retools in the future.As for the Convoy,I own the Kissplay version,and feel like a retool into Trailbreaker/Hoist would have been better,plus the articulation leaves a little to be desired,but still a cool fig nonetheless.Oh well,powers that be in the toyworld,read and apply please.

You know, it's nice to finally see Convoy get a little love. I'm planning on painting the pink parts to my Arcee anyways. A friend of mine in Japan told me that the Arcee has been received just as well there as it is here.

TakaraTomy is essentially relying on character name alone to carry everything. Sorry, that's not the weight of Binal Tech[/bad pun]; Binal Tech first envisioned was pretty revolutionary in its concept. It's a shame that a line that actually had a decent end (BT-18) has to resort to these measures. As it's already been said here and other places, this is a very poor way to test the market. We already know "Convoy", "Arcee", "Bluestreak", and "movie Agent Jazz" (c'mon, does that market really need to be tested? Surely a multi-million blockbuster tips one off?) can sell toys.

I don't have any of the alt/bt Prime molds, and though I would like to get KP Prime, I may just opt for this instead. Presumably cheaper, and die cast FTW.

I'm rapidly cooling to the idea of getting Arcee. I'm not really a fan of the S2000 to start with, but I was hoping the deco would carry it; it seems not.

Convoy is another matter, I skipped on the KP Convoy because of the dubious box art, but I always liked the deco over the Alternator one. We also get die-cast this time (but do we?), which is a bonus. I also have irrational fondness for that mould despite it's flaws.

So that custom got finished, yet was never shown off?

I'll talk to Clay and see if he minds his images being mirrored.
Honestly, I just did the concept work for how the custom should look. Clay did all the actual painting and whatnot.

That Arcee gives a whole new meaning to the term "transfan."
I agree that simply giving the mold a new head would make it infinitely more desirable.

I grew bored with the Alternators line with the 2nd repaint of Hound.
Ravage, Rumble and the SDCC Rodimus were a great end to sagging line.

If I have any cash left after TF:A and Classics II figs I may seek out Convoy. I'm a Prime whore what can I say?

Yes, so that we can get Elita-1 in the Prime mold (no remold)! On second thought, no thanks. And no thanks to He-Arcee. C'mon, I can see the S2000 mold being the best mold for Arcee as it's the most feminine. And I've seen a few bashes using the mold. But people at least gave it a new head. Takara should at least do that. As for metal Prime? Maybe...

I'm definatly going to get Prime, and I'm going to place him next to my Black Convoy. As for Arcee, she may be the first Binaltech I actally pass on. So unless they change her head, I'll have to pass.

Prime looks good...again.

For an Arcee, she looks absolutely hideous ...Arcee deserves so much better than this. At the very least, remold the head TomyTakara! They should have released this as Minerva/Minelba or something. The salmon pink and white color scheme would match that character better.

Even though I have both preordered, Arcee is a definite pass unless they remold/change her head.

Well, I'm gonna get them cause I wanna support what might be a slow comeback. But I really wish they'd had a new head on Arcee.

Binaltech Convoy Diecast = WIN. Arcee? I'll change the head. Ordered these from TFSource about a month ago when I thought Convoy would be green and Arcee Silver, but I'll let the order stand as is.
