| New Scan of Alternity Convoy, Release Date Bumped to January 2009 |

This Japanese release, the first in the line of a 1/32 scale figures in the vein of Binaltech, has also been pushed back to a January 2009 release. The scan can be seen by clicking on the image to the left.

Wow, that's actually selling me more than the line art. Not too shabby. Too bad for me that I'm actually going to attempt to not buy anything for personal consumption in 2009. With the date pushed back, this just means I'll have to pass.

The article also says that is a final proto and they are in the process of getting approval from Nissan.

Cool, but $50 cool? I don't know. I'll have to think about it and see how the size compares to other stuff and how much diecast will be included. The toy market is going price crazy (well, it's been going price crazy for awhile, but it isn't showing signs of stopping).

Such a nice looking figure. I will definitely be buying this, especially after collecting all the Alts then finally coming to see that BT's are IMO worth the $50 when made with die-cast.
I'll probably buy both colors (Red and Silver) and possibly make a megs. If OP can be a sports car why can't megs?
I do hope they come to the US in plastic and it's an actual line and not just a one off

In the pic you can see the japanese price is 4725, which is around $43. It wouldn't surprise me if BBTS and other US online retailers increase their prices.

Not really. I was implying the $54 price on BBTS isn't bad at all, when comparing it to the retail price in Japan.
Now, when you go "OMG! $50 for a deluxe!" (a general you, not you ), it seems like a horrid price, but I'm pretty sure the Alternity is nowhere close to a deluxe, except may be in size. The THS-01 and THS-02 were both almost basic sized, and were also priced at around $50 IIRC.

The center of the grill tucks inside and the two halves close in together. I believe this is supposed to be an automorph feature on the figure.
