I can't wait to get my hands on him. I hope the BT line continues. I really want a BT Mirage! I want a Rumble, Frenzy and Ravage as well. I especially want new molds. I figure if they released 4 new molds a year, it would be perfect. One each quarter. It would satisfy the need for high end Transformers that are made using real automobiles.
Megatronwp38:
Looks good! Will have him soon then I hope. He looks nearly Identical to the KISS version, but with metal and without that annoying little girl. Glad I passed on that one.

RobotoChan:
Oh boy - I really cannot wait for this guy to drop.
I hope my boxes are in better condition than those in the pictures djmagic:

Well I did say "nearly".
soundwaveCA:
I have to say that is very hot! Very much looking forward to getting that in all it's die-cast glory.
Ra88:
Shame that mold is still a piece of crap that needs a ton of modding to look decent.
Lucs:
Looks pretty good but easy pass now that I've stop collecting old BT/Alt molds since I wasn't too happy with BT-19/20. Bring on the new ones!

Rumble and Ravage, I'm thinking them (as well as the Ford GT Mirage mold) were not made for diecast as well (like all previous Alternators), so Takara probably won't release them as Binaltech since they cannot have diecast. This is just a theory though.

Randy | They made a die cast mold for Convoy. So you never know and yes I know there already was a die cast mold used for the Nemesis Prime but that was limited to 1000. Therefore, if they can make a die cast mold essentually for a limited release, anything can happen.

Randy | I was always under the impression that all the Alternator molds, (including the ones that have never been made as Binaltechs), were all originally intended to contain diecast parts. Afterall, we got Optimus Prime as an Alternator long before he showed up as Binaltech Nemesis Convoy. I'm still holding out hope that they will eventually release Mirage,(or Hot Rod), Ravage and Rumble as Binaltechs, even though it seems like Takara suddenly switched plans for it with a smaller scale line. I'm not into this Alternity stuff at all.
Eric:
NICE! I don't care if the mold's not that awesome, he's still Optimus Prime. HELLO Christmas gift!

IACON:
Nice.... I like it but I can't afford it.

I'm not into this Alternity stuff at all. | Optimus was INTENDED for a Binaltech release. Takara had scheduled him as BT-17 Ginrai and all. Then they cancelled him and announed Kiss Players Convoy a few months later.
Most likely Binaltech Black Convoy used the diecast parts originally created for Ginrai.
Meanwhile, Takara probably never created any diecast molds for the Ford GT, which is why BT Rijie was released as a clear all plastic version instead.
rherk:
I think the bottom line is if they can make a profit, making a new mold or another line (Alternity) will not stand in the way of them releasing other figure. Therefore, please support Binaltech's by buying them. I have yet to be dissapponted.
I don't know why so many give the Alt Prime such a hard time. I think it is an excellent figure and has perhaps the best Prime head ever released.
Enigma2K2:
Mine... MINE, D*MMIT... MINE!!!!
icefox:
No Kiss suffboard for you though!
1987olds442:
I so wanted this before he was canceled the first time... back when I was more addicted to collecting now I'm on the fence he does look a lot better than the Alt version since he is painted...
I've been trying to just stick with collecting Classic/Universe to fill my fix...
hmm what to do LOL
Nightrain:
This one makes the alternator look like a knock-off.
1987olds442:
I wouldn't have any hesitation if they did the leg mod to the mold from the factory. But damn he does look nice with all that paint and metal insomniac:
I wonder if they continue with the binaltech line if Hasbro will eventually come back on board and restart some more Alternators. I'm doubting if the Alternity line will come over to Hasbro, so,

However, I don't think TakaraTomy's "test" did as well as they had hoped. Now keep in mind that remark is sans discussion of the "test" for Binal Tech itself ( ). It just seems to me that a "relaunch" of the BT line isn't going to happen. However, I've been wrong before and will be again in the future too. Quote:

. . . though I have to say that the surfboard/blade is really cool though. Quote:

I like how stocky the mold looks with no modification and I like how the leg mod makes it look a bit taller and slimmer. To me, it's win either way.
* * * * *
I have to say I'm surprised no one has commented on how well the box looks. Takara nor TakaraTomy had a box made for this mold. The box would have to be a tad bigger just to contain him. I was a bit fearful that they were going to go all BT-17 on us and give us one fishbowl package. I'm really glad they didn't.

I have no problems doing the mod I just hate to cut into a $50 plus figure Superquad7: Quote:

Impossible =/= not fun cryo_vector:
I have this and City Commander pre-orderd already. Now I need to get BTs 19, 20 and 21. I am disappointed at the lack of a collector bio card. I also prefer Kiss Convoy's "yellow eyed" homage to G-1 prime.

The BT Convoy mold has a metric crapton of metal.
ironium_prime:
holy crapola!
Golden Age:
hope we see a BT Mirage soon.
