chuckcjc:
Some new pics of the Mickey Prime's transformation, Larger pics of Masterpiece Grimlock, and pics of the Alternity Convoy in "convoy colors". Sorry for the quality, Bad quality lighting for trying to take pics with a camera.

Mickey is indeed laying ontop of the robot mode pointing forward ala "Giant Robo".
Chaos Convoy:
Delicious bolts on Grimlock. That's what I loved about James Raiz's art. I'm glad something like that is finally making its way onto more TFs other than Bulkhead.

And Alternity Convoy is one sexy looking bitch, yes he is.
Type-R:
Alternity continues to look all kinds of smexy!

Could someone fluent in Japanese translate the text on the MP-8 scan? From the little I can read, it seems to say that Grimlock will be about the same size as MP-3 Starscream. I'm all for smaller sized figures (felt that MP-1/4 and MP-5 were too large) but not for the huge price tag Grimlock is getting.
SPLIT LIP:
Ah, Grimlock's big trick is that his tail disappears. Micky is.. decent. YOU'LL GET NOTHING FROM ME! Alternity is love. It's so much love I feel I have to date it before buying it. o_O
magmatron:
Ohhh, I might consider Grimlock if his figure is as detailed as that art, though I'll only pose him in bot mode, his dino mode is too classic for my taste.

And Grimlock is supposed to be bigger than both Prime and Megatron in robot mode, especially going by the cartoon.
chuckcjc:
Please let me know if there are any pics that you would want me to redo. I could zoom in on some texts for example.

There was also a pic of E-hobby" Black Megatron and Sunstorm releases, but I think they are stock pictures and not news. I think.
lord ginrai:
So it seems the new Henkei figures won't differ much, if at all, from the US releases..
And no chrome, wow.
I just hope they DO give Dinobot a more show accurate color scheme than Hasbro's version.

Oh and having Grimlock in MP-3 scale FTL!
encline:
Oh crap!!!!!! Grimlocks faceplate has teeth!!! Pre-ordered now!!!

no it doesnt.

not that big of a trick, with it just going on the insides of his legs.

They had better do one hell of a job spicing up the transformation, or this could be the worst MP figure yet. as-is, the only major transformation difference I can see is where the end of the tail goes. everything else is exactly the same.

A - I'd prefer it to be as close to in scale with the other MPs as they can get.

B - I could settle for it being small... if it's half the price.
Acid Wing:
Grimlock is more awesome everytime I see better, detailed pics. Hopefully, he WON'T be the same size as MP SS...that would make me very sad indeed.
SmokescreenGT:
Me, Grimlock like MP figure!
wheeljack359:
I love Grimlock! I know its gonna be just an improved G-1 but it is ok with me.

I kind of like the Alternity figs but wont get them unless they were bigger or priced lower.

Micky Prime is strange i think its neat to look at but I wouldnt wast my money. which Transformers fan loves Mickey and which Mickey fan likes Transformers?
dark69:
must get Grimlock
Powersa:
I like the pics of the Convoys.

I know, I was being sarcastic. (Like you, I'm very unimpressed that he's so simple) I also don't like how high his shoulders sit.
MACRAPTRON:
Exile X Transformers. What's next, MechaIke X Transformers?
Geez...
Storm:
Hastakomy simply can't win can they, the do MP Convoy, fans complain about his alt mode, MP Starscream the jet kibble on his hips introduced to be renovating an aged design gets picked on, MPMegatron they include a complex transformation and do their best with the dimesnsions allowed and people still pick on his legs, now Grimlock, accurate to the original toy and cartoon more so than any other MP Tranformer and people pick on him because he's not been updated :roll

I think he looks fantastic and shall consider importing one (that was the only way i managed to get starscream.)

I think his robot feet could fold in also. Besides if Grimlock didn't have his "wings", chunky legs and generally look like his G1 self there would be a <understatement> few complaints </understatement>; and that would mean an essentially similar transformation scheme.
Alex5:
Arse... that "Exile-X" red Prime is going to cost a load being both the iPod version AND (at least be the looks of it) an exclusive

Bad economy + expensive exclusives = no red prime for Alex
smkspy:
I really wish we could get that Music Label without the ipod trailer. I'm especially digging that Fire Guts version.

I really hope Grimlock isn't Starscream sized. For that price he should be the same size if not slightly bigger than Prime and Megatron.

...
I totally agree.
Kupp:
Grimlock is a must buy. and I like the looks of the Mickey-Prime.
Draven:
I don't get it. G1 Grimlock's transformation always has been pretty straightworward; it doesn't really allow for that much embellishment on the way it works. So why on Earth do people expect to see a more complex transformation? I mean, it can't really be altered that much; the way his tail and shoulders work appears to have been modified already. To me, "Masterpiece" implies a massive amount of detail and a larger scale; it doesn't need to be needlessly complicated (and indeed may well suffer if it is - see numerous comments by a LOT of people about MP Screamer & Megatron).
Angel Magnus:
Love Mickey's faction symbol.

I don't really get what they can do with Grimlock's transform to make it Masterpiecey. It just looks like he's going to be big (EDIT: ...ger than his original toy).
chuckcjc:
After the MP Grimlock comes out, I am hoping they utilize the same design into some scaled down Voyager/Deluxe size. Classics Grimlock is cool, but I love this design more.
Takara_destron:
Mickymus Prime is slowly climbing up my want list, but Alternity continues to be all kinds of love.

Grimlock is nice, but MPs just arent for me.
samtastic:
These pictures are SO SMALL I can't see anything. Someone please explain how I can view them larger.
Draven:
Click on them. They will pop up at a larger size. if you then click on the larger size, it will open in a new window (or new tab, depending on your browser).
samtastic:
Okay I figured it out.

Mickey = Awesomeness!! I just hope the colors look great. B&W and color. Hope they'll be a Pegleg Pete Megatron (he's the fat dog-like pegleg nemesis from old Mickey toons) They can make his peg-leg the gun barrel!)

Grimlock = amazingness. I bet it has superb articulation and the final look with metal parts will look sweeeeet!!!

Gotta get some cash for these!
Draven:
I have to admit, I'm hoping for more diecast in Grimlock than in the last 2 MP designs.
Eric:
The only thing I like right now is Grimlock. DAMN he looks badass.
Sp.Agt.Sparrow:
Optimouse Prime! Can't wait for that.

Nuff said... MP Grimlock is more than worthy to stand alongside ALL the MP's done sofar, no matter what the whiny nit picking, lame-assed excuses they make. Deal with it, ppl...it Frickin GRIMLOCK in full glory and detail.. RESISTANCE IS FUTILE...bummer if he's as tiny as MP-Screamer... here's hoping that's not the case.

Nevertheless, FYI Grimmie's as GOOD as BOUGHT and BOUGHT!!

Sheeeesh.

Word.

What's up with the lack of chrome on these new henkei figures? I mean I personally don't care cuz if I want chrome I'll just paint it on. The henkei's so far that are worth it IMO are Astrotrain, Megatron, and Ratchet, but that's just cuz Hasbro hasn't announced his release yet

They put it all on Galvatron's turret.

I bet they are just Hasbro photos for now (as has happened nearly with every Henkei in the past). I expect there to be some changes made like we've seen in the past.

I really hope Grimlock is MP-Convoy size and not small like Starscream/Skywarp/Thundercracker especially since he's about $30 more.

OK, here goes:

MP-8 Translation:
"Grimlock who has the unique distinction of being a Transformer built by Transformers has been confirmed! At present, he is in the manufacturing stage for mass retail. His powerful form, his unique mold, possible gimmicks: just by studying the design sketches to the right should be enough to excite you if you are a TF fan... The size of the Robot mode is approximately the same as MP-3 Starscream, and he seems to have enough gimmicks to make a 'mania' cry. Next issue, we may even be able to show a prototype..."

There you go. If you ever need Japanese translation, I'm your man.

I REALLY hope this ends up being the case, especially due to the larger price tag.

(A)This. If there is a higher price tag and less engineering, then it needs to be a larger toy. If (B), then you've nailed it. That being said, were (B) to happen, many fans like myself would be disappointed with (A) not being present.

I know I certainly don't represent a whole fandom, but I like MP Convoy's alt mode; I like MP Starscream the way he is (but I'd like the original design as well; it's just a huge issue for me), and I like MP Megatron's look (the legs don't bother me too much). The complexity of the MP's transform designs while being closer to their totality of counterparts (e.g., not just the cartoon, but the cartoon + the toy + any other media) are one of the things that I feel is indicative to the line.

Like I said above, one of the aspects of the Masterpiece line I like and feel is indicative to the line is more complex transformations. I don't think it has (or should be) radically different, but there needs to be a few more twists and turns. I have a G1 Grimlock and I don't need the same exact toy in a larger scale. I wholeheartedly agree with you that the toy and design shouldn't be compromised and it doesn't need to be overly complicated, but I think some subtle additions that don't compromise the toy or the character should be present.

I'd like to think that this and a larger size would justify a larger price tag (e.g., the state of affairs with the economy isn't a good crutch for a such reason, imo).

. . . and that size confirmation may just lock in my pass. I'm still undecided.
Autovolt 127:
coolness.
stevej:
Same size as MP Starscream? OK, that was the deal breaker for me.

It was almost a deal breaker for MP Starscream.

Stupid TakaraTomy. I hope they fire the fuck-tard that decided to charge more for a smaller toy thinking we wouldn't notice.
Synical:
Ok, if that is his size then:

1. WTF?! Didn't they learn from the constant bitching about the size of the seeker mold?

2. What the HELL is with the price tag then? He'd better be 90% metal for that.

This just killed a LOT of the anticipation I had for this guy. I mean, he'll barley be taller than Alt Grimlock at this point. Now I'm expecting him to turn out being black and green or some shit. Think I'll wait for a US release for this guy. but damn, it's so disappointing having something so close to awesome in your collection when you constantly look at it knowing it easily could have been (and HAD been...STARSCREAM...) done better.
Draven:
Ghhh. That's nowhere near big enough. Come on Takara, pull your bloody finger out.
Acid Wing:
Same size as MP Screamer' eh? Guess I"ll most likely wait for the inevitable Hasbro exclusive release then. *prays it's at Target or TRU this time vs. Wal-Mart*
Superquad7:
Y'know, I was even considering getting this guy had he been a huge toy that towered over Convoy (like the G1 cartoon), but I just can't see the justification of the $140+ price tag for this guy. Oh wait, he has a waiter mode! Gee, let me reconsider . . . .
WhiteMocha:
Hmph. Yeah, that is a bummer about Grimlock's size. If anything I was hoping he would be a head or so taller than Prime/Megatron. Hopefully he will make up for it with bulk.

On the upside, at that size he might actually fit in pretty well with Classics/Universe... since the original Classics Grimlock is somewhat lacking.

Huh?

Still not a deal breaker for me, this is still going to be the best damn Grimlock.
Scourge_151:
Same size as screamer would be good for my shelf space but very bad for the toy, Grimlock needs to be a behemoth of a thing!
