Hallmark Keepsake Generation 1 Optimus Prime Ornament

Posted on 04-14-2014 at 05:39 PM by Sol Fury under Generation 1
optimus-prime-root-1495qxi2656_1470_1 Hallmark have unveiled a 2014 Transformers Keepsake ornament. Perhaps fittingly for the 30th anniversary year, this ornament is inspired directly by the toy that started it all for many of us, the Generation 1 Optimus Prime, in a pose reminiscent of how he appeared in the original Generation 1 box art. Check it out and see what you make of this item.

New Official Stills From Transformers 4 Age Of Extinction

Posted on 04-14-2014 at 12:10 PM by SilverOptimus under Transformers Movie (Just Movie) (All Transformers Movie News)
Transformers-4-Age-Of-Extinction-Stills-3 Official Transformers Facebook Page has been updated with some official stills from the upcoming Michael Bay movie; Transformers: Age Of Extinction. While we’ve seen most of the images, one image is new and it features Mark Wahlberg as Cade Yeager trying to look what's inside the rusty truck he acquired recently (which he soon finds out as Optimus Prime in hiding).

We have the images in High Resolution, after the jump.

30 Years of Transformers in 30 Days - 1990

Posted on 04-14-2014 at 12:00 PM by Sol Fury under Generation 1
1990 And so we reach 1990, the final year of Transformers Generation 1 for the USA. By now Transformers was truly coming to an end, with the original Generation 1 comic series reaching what writer Simon Furman had intended to be a finale with issue 75. The Transformers toyline carried on with more Micromasters and also the Action Masters – poseable Transformers that did not transform – which are sometimes blamed for killing the toyline, and there is no doubting they were a nail in the coffin. Even Japan, which had persisted with cartoons and new toys all of its own, began to show signs of a decline with Transformers Zone being a single episode direct-to-video release instead of a full broadcast TV series. With the comic coming to a close and no new cartoons on TV anywhere in the world, it was a very bleak time for the Transformers brand.

27431525d1397434226-autobot-blast-bar-bar Here's a cool little bit of Transformers merchandising if you like to devour everything there is about Transformers - a new licensed Transformers foodstuff! Hershey's ice cream have produced a new Transformers "Autobot Blast Bar", a strawberry, lemon and fruity blue moon flavored ice cream bar, done in the Autobot symbol design. The packaging features the new 2014 style but like other merchandising we have seen recently, it uses Transformers Prime artwork for the packaging.

GI Eddie & Echo TF FansProject Stunticons Upgrades

Posted on 04-14-2014 at 01:30 AM by Sol Fury under 3rd Party Unlicensed
10264415_618235444929799_3338854852620149997_n An upgrade for an unofficial third party transforming robot set, you say? Yes, it seems that hot on the heels of the recently completed FansProject Menasor / Stunticons, an upgrade is being made for the set by GI Eddie (who made an alternate head for TFC's Hercules Devastator) and Echo TF (who made an upgrade for Fall of Cybertron Bruticus). The designs are in shapeways prototypes at the moment, but the intention is to move into full production - check out a sampling of images attached to this story, and check out full details on the Echo TF Facebook page.

30 Years of Transformers in 30 Days - 1989

Posted on 04-13-2014 at 12:00 PM by Sol Fury under Generation 1
1989 1989, the fifth anniversary of Transformers, saw the line in decline. With no cartoon in the US, and increasing competition from other lines including Ninja Turtles and Micro Machines, the Transformers toy line floundered. Pretenders stuck around, undergoing downsizing and simplification, and new pocket-sized Transformers complete with bases and vehicles called Micromasters were introduced. Japan continued in its own direction with almost no US imports in this year, instead making its own toys, and another new cartoon, Transformers Victory.

Transformers Mr Potato Head New Images

242F3B0E50569047F5AF2F0F0098A165 Hasbro US have also updated their online product catalog with new listings for the new Transformers Mr Potato Head toys. The four revealed, and on the site, so far are a larger Optimus Prime and Starscream which include parts to let them "transform" along with smaller Optimus Prime and Grimlock potato heads. Interestingly, the packaging identifies these Playskool offerings as a part of the Rescue Bots series, despite their Generation 1 roots.

The catalog update also includes entries for the Battle Masters series, although the links for them are not yet live.

Transformers 4 Age of Extinction Toys New Official Images

Posted on 04-13-2014 at 07:54 AM by Sol Fury under Transformers Movie Toys & Products (All Transformers Movie News)
0777D19850569047F53AB9CE62D2104B Hasbro's Australian website has updated its toy catalog with new listings for many of the Transformers Age of Extinction releases. The new listings include the first assortments of the Generations Deluxe and Voyager Classes, including Crosshairs and Bumblebee, Age of Extinction Construct Bots and Age of Extinction Kre-O. Of possible note is that the Kreon combiner sets Obsidian and Lazerbolt are here named as Firewing and Icebolt, though their original names are featured on the packaging, so it is possible that Firewing and Icebolt were the original working names for the sets - or the packaging in the photos is out of date.

Check out the new images attached to this story.
