MMC01: Knight Morpher Commander (Heart of Steel Optimus)

Posted on 06-30-2009 at 02:27 PM by TM2 D-bot
MMC01: Knight Morpher Commander (Heart of Steel Optimus) 1
Master Mind Creation has released new images of its MMC01 Knight Morpher Commander. It seems this will be a plastic kit rather than the original Heart of Steel resin kits that were to be made available. Also the kit now seems to be available as a fully assembled figure.

Wow, definite buy for me. I'll wait to see other stores pricing to see who has the best rates.
rherk:
I have so many questions that don't seem to be answered anywhere on RK.

1. Will the final product be painted?
2. Will other retailers be selling this?
3. If you pre-order, do you get charged immediately or when it arrives?

Any answers would be appreciated.
Gigatron_2005:
Damn that looks awesome. But I fear that the price of it will be out of my range. Then again, its not like I am buying any RotF things and Animated is gone. Still I expect it to be a hard pill to swallow.
smkspy:
Damn, that is frickin tempting. I so want.

MI FAN ART

Altitron:
I wonder if they would like to use the box art I did for Griffith's version of the figure?

eisen:
i wonder if this one will cost more or less
The Crazy Collector:
<-- will buy this not matter the cost!

I saw the mock-up at BotCon and it looked freak'n sweet in person. $80 bucks is a helluva deal for such a high quality fan-made piece. Now if I can just talk someone into making me a HISS Tank Optimus Prime from the first Devil's Due GI Joe/TF crossover....
eriku:
Sweet gorilla of Manila! That thing is so mine it wont remember a time when it wasn't mine.
jason jupiter:
that is beautiful, can't wait for this guy
REDLINE:
I want to know if this thing is Kosher or not. Was it made with Griffith76's permission, or did someone KO a copy of his kit?? I hope for his sake this was done with his knowledge and permission.

To my knowledge, he sold his kit to Rabbid Squirrel Productions. Who is this company credited for making THIS kit?

The model kit has been re-designed and produced as a ready-to-play firgure by MMC group which was formed by Griffith himself according to the article from his blog

Cheebs:

Griffith made two of these. The first one was sold to Rabbid Squirrel, who have full rights to that version (I think). Then Griffith made a 2nd version, which also was used to make the model kits of his. He then hooked up with members from one of the other fangroups to form Master Mind Creations and are releasing this full figure based off his second version of HOS Prime. So Griffith is very much involved.
kronos:
I anxiously await preorders to pop up! I will order on the spot!

Come on BBTS... get 'er done!

I've cruised through the thread and don't see how tall this thing is. I keep thinking it looks like a Titanium figure, and may find it's home near them on my display shelf.

frilly toothpick:
looks awesome.
Nukatron:
I do not know what line he will be in but I like it
Ironmonk:
If this is for purchase, I will buy it.
InfernoX:
That $80 is a steep price, but I'm seriously considering it. This is one awesome looking figure.
rherk:
I don't want to sound redundant but has anyone heard whether any other online retailer will be carrying this product?

if $80 is a steep price for you for an original sculpt, fan made fully transforming figure, than i hate to think what you think of a $60 mass produced mass market, run of the mill leader class figure.

This hearts of steel prime can easily fetch a price of 3x or 4x the $80 asking price

$80 is a god damn steal for this kind of workmanship.

Give it time. I'm sure BBTS will carry this as well.
The_Waspinator:
I hope BBTS will put up a preorder. I like them for my online toy purchasing.
bradforj:
I emailed BBTS yesterday stating my interest in the product, and I have heard nothing. If they do not reply by late today, I will probably just give my business to Robot Kingdom (even though their shipping rates are nuts). I will not risk this selling out.

Actually yeah, $60 for a leader is a lot for me to pay. So I'm cheap.
firehawc_69:
FYI!!!!

For those interested in buying this through BBTS instead of Robot Kingdom:

Hi,

Yes it should be up next week.

Thanks!

Hello, I'm sure others have asked, but are you guys going to be carrying this?

MMC01: Knight Morpher Commander (Heart of Steel Optimus) - Transformers News

I'd rather do business with you over Robot Kingdom.

The_Waspinator:
Cool. I'll put in my BBTS preorder once it's up.
Fort Max:
Does it include the trailer?
ekocher:
lmao bbts says october 2008
MidnightBliss:
I'm stupid. Is this plastic or resin? Does it transform?
johaneggink:
PREORDER

October 2008

should probably be 2009....

So this is going to be built and painted?

Do they also sell it not built and unpainted?

monsterikan:

if i buy this, with the price, shipping, and tax .. i might pay it for 130.
... is it worth it?
QuinJester:
Hmm. We'll let you know in October?
loudstone:
Anybody know what the coloring will be? For an 1800s steam engine I'm hoping for more muted colors than Prime's classic bright red and blue.
