As posted in the CybPh Website, I'd like to share the review made by CybPh's gaoJP on the Disney Label Mickey.

================================================================

Of all the unions between two brands perhaps none has been as unexpected as this one. Following in the foot steps of obscure TF collectibles like the Nike Label Transformers comes the Disney Label Transformers.

Front and Back shots of the boxed Mickey Prime

Robot Mode

Ok heres where the dissapointment starts. Absolutely little to no articulation. Yes you heard me. Articulation is limited to 2 points located at the arms and legs. Aside from that nothing else due to each joint directly affected by the transforming process of the toy.

Mickey in the pilot seat.

Detail of the toy is quite good same with the paint apps. If anything this is one of the few strong points of the toy.

Transformation time.....

Transformations is very simple. Mickey is basically a shell former so there isnt much to it.

Transformers gets Disnified. Check out the cartoon exagerated portions.

Transform and roll out!!!!

Size comparison with Alternity Convoy.

Ok all in all I have to say this was quite a dissapointment. The lack of articulation was a big let down and the lack of accesories didnt help any (all it came with was a manual). I mean cmon. I know this is a Disney product but the least they could have done was at least give Mickey Prime a Disnified weapon.

To say that this is a very unique fusion of two known brands is an understatement and the least they could have done was to at least give the toy some possability. This is a good collectible and nothing more. If you have Php 2000 ($40) to spend get an Alternity Convoy instead but I know for completists like me this is a must have. I cant say I realy appreciate or like" Mickey Prime" but I have to say it is a trip to have in your collection and a definite eye catcher.

I give it a... out of
0R10N P4X:
No articulation? G1 all over again! I don't mind, it's still a nice display piece.
Malikon:
Since I do try and collect as many Prime figures as I can, I was really tempted when I first saw the prototype pics.

But no articulation? Shellformer? No accessories? Ugh! If it were a $10-$15 dollar toy then I'd definitely get it. But at this price point it's an easy pass.

Congrats on your acquisition however.
billcosby:
People in Japan are absolutely obsessed with Disney and Mickey Mouse, etc.
Even businessmen go about with plush Disney toys on their briefcases and Mickey Mouse toys attached to their cell phones.
That being said, I always envisioned this item to be only in high demand over in Japan. Certainly an amusement or curiousity overseas.
Bumblebee:
I agree with everyone else that the price point was too high- and knowing that there's practically no articulation is a bother; but I purchased it because I loves me Disney AND Transformers and wanted this as a cute little display piece... so I'm not really all that bothered.
I'd still buy more Disneylabel Transformers in a heartbeat, though, lol.
I love the photos; and the review was very informative, thanks!
samtastic:
I think it looks GREAT! You guys are being too hard on it, as it is the first of it's kind. Your'e complaining because it's not poseable? Seriously? Look at the bulky and round proportions - it has more reason to be a "poseability" brick than many of the G1 classics. And personally I love my Metroplex as is.

Be happy that they pulled it off as well as they did. And maybe in the future, they'll do more that are poseable. Again. First. Of. It's. Kind.

Also I don't get the need for a weapon. He's a giant mickey mouse robot. I think all these complaints are missing the point of this new kind of unique transformer. Celebrate what it is, and stop comparing it to modern scifi fantasy transformers. You don't walk into ToonTown and ask where the armory is, do you?

I think this looks about as great as I could have expected. And stop complaining about the size/value. Look how big his head is. It is big enough. And you'll have room on the shelf for all the Baytastic stuff in 3 months.

Just my humble opinion -- thanks for the review and great photos! Now I want to see Donald as a Tugboat and Goofy as a Steam Train. LOL
Beanshi:
aww, it is cute. not $60 cute, but still cute. It would be cool to see more of these types of figs, in fact one of the main reason that i skipped on this one is because it's Mickey. If it were Donald duck, i would've put down the money.
Baby Bumblebee:
ugh unique but pass
artiepants:
given the nature of it, i'm actually more disappointed in the Shell-former-ness of it than the lack of articulation (being, that it'd pretty much be a display piece only) i don't know how i missed the trailer wings hanging off it before ~ the magazine shots seemed to downplay that aspect quite a bit.

i still think it's pretty darn cute for what it is, but totally not worth the $$$
Regrezz:
I love Disney and Transformers but at $60 still a hard sell. But who knows maybe the parks will import it and we will be able to get it for less.
What About Bob?:
Got both of them, the alternity and mickey shipped from Japan for 113.00$ not a bad deal..on the small size sure but oh well. I don't think I'll be getting the black version or silver versions though. I don't need to be that completist.
Shark Jumper:
Mickey has truck butt kibble...
dark69:
i still want him hes cute!
MushroomPrime:
Terrible.

$40 for this plastic crap?

Pssshhh
StarSaber79:
It does look good but its to small for the price.
CDBROWN48:
I was hoping that it would be bigger than that!?!
Oh well when and if the price comes down I will add it just because of the marriage between Transformers & Disney but that is the only reason!
uzi_the_klown:
lol id buy it and get some 1 to kitbash me a keyblade for it sry i like kingdom hearts
Deefuzz:
Looks great. I still plan on buying both Mickey figures.
firehawc_69:
One thing that jumped out at me, making it definitively Japanese, was that the Mickey driving is on the Right side. The little tab thingy that the bumper clicks into to reveal/conceal the driver looks like they can produce one for U.S. release with a Mickey on the Left side, if/when that happens, the price is sure to come down...
Razorclaw:
Wait a god damn minute! Firstpredacon mentioned "2k" in his post? 2 grands for this piece of bullcrap?
maharg83:
hmm i have seen it on ebay for around £35-£40 dont know if I could justify the means

The review was posted on Cybertron Philippines. I doubt he meant $2000.
SPLIT LIP:
He's quite a novelty. He's also quite expensive. Instead of just shouting "PASS!"... no thank you, but he's out of my price range considering his joint movement. Quite interesting despite that, the paint is nice but lack of accesories are unfortunate.
Renidragon:
Aw, it's cute.

It's kinda like Kingdom Hearts, except instead of Squaresoft, insert Transformers. Kinda.

Though it doesn't look at all like as much fun.
Autobot Burnout:
Pass. I'll take the much cooler Atlerenity Prime thank you very much.

Oh I'm sorry...its Php 2000. Roughly $40
Bgrngod:
I have mine arriving on Monday along with two Alternity Primes. I've got no illusions about what I will probably think about the figure once I get it. I bought it mostly for the novelty and the sweet paint app. It's pretty darn unique and quite the odd figure. I'll easily find a spot for it amongst the collection.

FANTASTIC!! it is not. Pretty good... it is.
BigRC83:
I still think it looks fantastic. I will purchase it later this year.
G.B. Blackrock:
If I see this at Disneyland, I'll get it (doubtful, as I understand the situation). The comments have put me off of spending the $50 on it I'd actually intended to at one point.
grayman:
Does it have to have Mickey exposed in robot mode and Minnie exposed in vehicle mode or can they be retracted?

There's no Minnie, there's the Mickey in the driver's seat wearing a trucker's cap (which looks more like a painter's cap). When you pull the bumper up, it flips back inside, out of view...and reappears when the bumper is locked back into place.

The Mickey riding on top flips forward automatically when you push the trailer/cape thing down into bot mode. Unfortunately it's spring loaded, so you have to push it back manually when you convert it back to vehicle mode.

The only way to not have the little Mickeys exposed is to not snap the bumper into place, or not push the cape/trailer thing down all the way.

The figure will probably be more expensive at Disneyland....I think.
Sapphire-Light:
Is cute!! it would be cool if they make a Pete Megatron :

Can't wait for Mickey and Alternity!

More expensive than $50? Nah. Even at Disneyland-inflated prices, it would never sell at that price, when people can actually see how small it is....
NemesisBruticus:
Its like paying 45 dollars for a scout.
LightningZERO:
Pretty cute toy. I would have bought it if I have the money to spare
SmokescreenGT:
Cute little toy, but I must pass on it, unfortunately. Too many other things I want instead.
Magmatron22:
Not to be rude but I don't see why every one dislikes this figure. I think his size is perfect because compared to all his disney friends Mickey isn't vary tall, and really do you want mickey to tower over most figures if he was a leader as his price would more suitably fit? As for his transformation...G1 prime has about the same amount of steps in his transformation and no one seems to care so I don't see why this should be much different. As for his price Considering he's from Japan I'm not to mad about it. (sorry I got carried away with typing)

Heh heh in S'pore it's also a sought-after item too. most of the toyshops here under-ordered this item & have since regretted their decision. all the stocks for it locally have been sold out! whereas the enquiries & the demand for it hasn't stopped. (but new stocks have already came in)

That aside I would definitely get this one for my daughter. she likes disney stuff.

ah! balljoints are over rated anyway lol... Who wants articulation when you can be a blockformer.

I completely agree with you! This is a cool unique toy that is what it is.

You are not paying $40 for a mere scout toy - you are getting the first of it's kind. And the scale is HIGHLY APPROPRIATE. It's an import, it's expensive. One might argue that Alternity Convoy or whatever is equally overpriced and small and just another alternator thingy- which it is. Big whoop. How cheap do you expect a unique toy like this to be? Come down to Earth people.

If you're not getting it it's because you are not interested in a Mickey Mouse Transformer. End of story.
RedAlert Rescue:
I just realised he reminds me of Mudflap and Skids. - I like him but I am concerned that he's so expensive as an import.
Night_Hawk:
So glad I cancelled my pre-order...

Honestly, this one's disproportionately expensive. Even for an import.
Railguard:
Its crap is what it is.
Acteon:
It's smaller than I expected, I don't know why. It's a nice curiosity piece, granted, but not something I'm really looking to buy. Thanks for sharing the pics though, very informative ^^
airfox:
I like it, and I'm glad I'll be receiving mine in the next few weeks.

I don't mind he lacks articulation (seriously... what poses did you wanted to pose him on?), and don't mind the size. The package pictures next to the Alternity seem to hint at this being closer to a deluxe than a scout, even though it's a short and squat figure.

If we're just talking about size, then so was THS-01. Granted, THS-01 was a bit more complex, but this is also a Disney character, so there should be some licensing fee added to the cost. So I won't say 'disproportionately expensive' when there have been previous Takara products to set a precedent.

(Yeah, I know you weren't saying THS-01 was cheap, but it was the first example I thought of about a precedent for something this size, not so complex and this expensive)
