Transformers: Robots In Disguise Sideswipe Concept Art

Posted on 03-30-2015 at 10:50 PM by SilverOptimus under Robots In Disguise (201x)
CBDiAVQUUAA_rb- Following the concept art reveal of Underbite, Film illustrator & Director Augusto Barranco has shared several concept images of Transformers: Robots In Disguise Sideswipe.

It's interesting to note that the character started out as Fastlane, which would explain the immature nature of the character.

We've mirrored the images with this news post. Check 'em out, after the jump.

Movie Optimus Prime Ultimate Edition New Images

Posted on 03-30-2015 at 01:23 PM by Sol Fury under Transformers Movie Toys & Products (All Transformers Movie News)
11081122_641228219310096_2603701658086366652_n Transformers Asia have updated their Facebook page with some new images of their Ultimate Edition Movie Optimus Prime. This release is a goliath, coming with a premium paint job, and including all the accessories of the Japan exclusive Striker Optimus Prime and Jetwings Optimus Prime from Dark of the Moon, along with the sword and hook accessories that were offered as purchase incentives. It is, quite possibly, the single most accessory-heavy Movie Optimus ever released, and if you are looking for a definitive version of the character, have the money, and somehow don't own a version of Revenge of the Fallen Optimus Prime yet, this may well be the one for you. Check out the images after the break.

Mastermind Creations Anarchus (IDW Kaon) Test-Shot

Posted on 03-30-2015 at 10:38 AM by ORIO under 3rd Party Unlicensed
Anarchus3 Mastermind Creations has updated their Facebook page with some pictures from the Emerald City Comic-con held in Seattle this past weekend. On hand was a test shot for Mastermind's next release in their reformatted line, Anarchus. Anarchus is a homage to Kaon from IDW's hit comic series, More Than Meets the Eye. In the comic, this character is one the members of the Decepticon Justice Division and dishes out his own form of justice by transforming into an electric chair. This will be the second DJD member from Mastermind Creations. Their first release, Cynicus (based on DJD member Vos) is due for release shortly pending some packaging delays.

TFW's Combiner Wars Breakdown In-Hand Gallery

Posted on 03-29-2015 at 01:28 PM by Sol Fury under Generations / Classics
Breakdown-Robot-41 We've shown you Dead End, Dragstrip and Offroad - now we are rounding out the four Stunticon limbs with Breakdown! Combiner Wars Breakdown is a Lamborghini Countach, a very slick car that was also used for Generation 1 Sideswipe - and with the head sculpt looking particularly Sideswipe-ish, we'd imagine this one is getting a straight repaint into Sideswipe down the road.

Breakdown's robot mode transformation is fairly simple, as with most of the Combiner Wars Deluxes, and it gives him big boots and relatively thin arms. It sounds like a hideous look, but it works and does not look too awkwardly proportioned - and as a bonus, gives him a nice wide base to stand on, making posing easy. Breakdown's weapon is rather cool - it's a gunblade, a weapon that works equally well as a sword as it does a gun. As an added bonus, the foot for the Menasor mode attaches to his back in robot mode (which again, would work for a Sideswipe release).

Overall, Breakdown is another great release in the Combiner Wars series. He's got a great weapon, a killer vehicle mode, and is extremely faithful to Generation 1 Breakdown. Check out our gallery and see what you think.

Transformers: Robots In Disguise Hyper Change Hero Sideswipe Confirmed

Posted on 03-29-2015 at 11:02 AM by SilverOptimus under Robots In Disguise (201x)
Transformers-Robots-In-Disguise-Hyper-Change-Hero-Three-Steps-Sideswipe Earlier this year a rumor of a possible Three-Step Changer Sideswipe was revealed thanks to a toy transformation scheme diagram leak. Today, 2005 Boards Member Nevermore in bringing us a toy listing at Toys"R"Us Iceland, confirming the existence of Transformers: Robots In Disguise Hyper Change Hero Sideswipe.

The TRU listing does not contain a product image but rather placehoder images of Hyper Change Hero Bumblebee, Grimlock and Optimus Prime. It is interesting to see that the transformation scheme diagram Sideswipe sports his mask and we are yet to see if it is true on the final product.

PaperFormed Racing Warrior - a Papercraft Drift

Posted on 03-28-2015 at 07:19 PM by Sol Fury under Other News
racing_warrior-robot Here is something which is particularly cool, that we thought we might share with you. A few years ago when IDW introduced Drift into their comics, one dedicated fan made his own fully transformable Drift out of paper. It was an extremely cool piece of artwork, which attendees of Botcon 2009 in Pasadena might remember seeing entered into that year's art contest.

Flash forward to today, and the designs of this awesome custom have now been made available to purchase for a modest amount. You can now make your own papercraft Drift, or "Racing Warrior" as he is referred to here, who transforms without removing any parts. It's made up of 202 pieces, spread across six sheets. It's what is classed as an "expert" level build, and speaking as someone who saw the original in person, it is an amazing piece once it is fully assembled.

Generations Cyber 11 Assortment Bumblebee and Optimus Prime New Images

Posted on 03-28-2015 at 06:18 PM by Sol Fury under Generations / Classics
Cyber_11_inch_Series_Optimus_Prime_1 Via Brazilian retailer Hobby Brinquedos has posted some new images of the upcoming Generations Cyber 11 Assortment. These are 11 inch figures, done in the style of the Cyberverse figures from previous lines. The figures featured here are Bumblebee and Optimus Prime, who appear to be borrowing a few cues from their Robots in Disguise Legion figures, at least as far as the general transformation schemes appear to go.

While some might gnash their teeth at the simplicity of the offerings, the simplicity would appear to be the virtue in this case - plus the designs look rather cool, and are certainly solid offerings, although we're not sure if they have knees. Check them out, attached to this post.

These images show off Corelock in his fully decoed state - he is expected to come out in May, with a price of $149.95, with the higher price owing to Corelock coming with the various parts needed to complete the final combined form.

Masterpiece Star Saber Tops Japanese Sales Charts

Posted on 03-27-2015 at 04:56 PM by Sol Fury under Transformers Masterpiece
tfmp24 Here is an interesting nugget of news we thought to share with you. Japanese retailer Toynes produces a weekly "top 5" of best selling items, and for the week of March 16 to March 22, the toy topping the charts is Masterpiece Star Saber - and considering that he only came out on 21 March unlike the rest of the chart, this is really impressive.

Of course, it is hard to judge if this surge was down to preorders, or whether this was purely in-store purchases, but in either case, it paints a very healthy picture for Masterpiece Star Saber's sales, and - dare we say - portends well for other fan-favorites getting the Masterpiece treatment down the line.
