Fanstoys Soar Red and Blue Version, Unofficial Snarl, Sludge and Grimlock Announced

Posted on 04-20-2014 at 10:25 PM by ORIO under 3rd Party Unlicensed
Soar1 Popular 3rd party group, Fanstoys, have updated with information on their next release as well as three more releases planned after that. You may know Fanstoys based off of their popular fan produced, unofficial Masterpiece Shockwave, Quakewave. Due for release soon is Scoria, their follow up, an unofficial Masterpiece Dinobot Slag. Tonight, the group has updated with two options for their third intended release named Soar, an unofficial Masterpiece Swoop. Their take on Dinobot Swoop will be available in two different color options. Red, for fans of the G1 toy, and Blue, for fans of his appearance in the original G1 cartoon.

On top of this exciting news, we have a picture revealing Fantoys next three releases after Scoria and Soar. The lineup of toys is called Iron Dibots, and unofficial Masterpiece versions of Snarl, Sludge and finally Grimlock will follow suit. Grimlock is surprising, as fans already have a well represented Masterpiece version of the character. But, fans unhappy that Scoria is going to be taller than the Hasbro/Takara release will be happy to hear a more scaled version is being planned.

30 Years of Transformers in 30 Days - 1996

Posted on 04-20-2014 at 12:00 PM by Sol Fury under Beast Wars
1996 With the demise of Transformers Generation 2, the Transformers brand once again faced oblivion, and this time, it looked like Transformers might disappear from store shelves worldwide. Hasbro decided to take a gamble and hand the brand over to their subsidiary, Kenner, who had made the Star Wars and Super Powers lines in the 70s and 80s, and was doing well with Batman at the time. The result was a complete rebooting of the Transformers franchise. Cars, jets and other vehicles gave way to realistic animals with molded fur texture. Subgroups disappeared and line-wide size classes were established. Articulation on a level with the Cyberjets and other later Generation 2 designs became the norm.

The Beast Wars had begun.

IDW Transformers: Phase 1 Omnibus Edition Revealed

Posted on 04-20-2014 at 07:14 AM by Sol Fury under Comics
transformers-infiltration-issue-0-cover-a_1264045808 Amazon.com has added a new preorder page for a Transformers: Phase 1 Omnibus Edition. The omnibus edition collects the entirety of the Transformers: Infiltration, Escalation and Devastation miniseries written by Simon Furman, which together kicked off the IDW Transformers comics universe. The preorder listing bills the omnibus as the "collection of the first three arcs of IDW's Transformers continuity", though it seems someone forgot a little thing called Stormbringer...

The omnibus volume presents a great way to get up to speed on the earliest part of IDW's Transformers universe. It's a paperback, priced at $21.34 and due for a release on September 16, 2014. There is no cover art available for this volume yet - so for now, enjoy this cover art from Transformers: Infiltration #0, pulled from the TFW comic resources section.

IDW Shares New Transformers Comic Information at WonderCon Panel

Posted on 04-19-2014 at 04:49 PM by Mechafire under Comics
TF-RiD28-cvrA-453f4-fe96d Comic Book Resources is bringing us the full details on what IDW shared at their WonderCon panel, which was apparently very busy and packed with fans. Leading the panel was John Barber along with Mairghread Scott, Flint Dille, and others. They each took the time to share some details about what the future of Transformers comics will hold in Robots in Disguise, Windblade, and More than Meets the Eye, and more. In addition, some other trivia was also shared. To give a brief summary...

• Some more details of how Windblade came into being
• More on the previously-reported Primacy series that Dille is writing
• Unfortunately for movie fans, it is confirmed that there will be no prequel comic for Age of Extinction
• Some details about the Transformers vs. G.I. Joe crossover comic, explaining how well it's coming along
• Barber also goes into detail about how the idea of Autobot Megatron came into being
• Who will be leading the Decepticons in Robots in Disguises' second season
• More on Soundwave's character
• On the subject of a possible My Little Pony/Transformers crossover, the response was that it had been pushed for, but there appears to be no concrete plans at the moment
• Another fan asked Barber the possibility of publishing Megatron's "gospel", Towards Peace. Unfortunately, there are no plans for that at the moment (but fingers crossed there's a chance of it happening in the future!)
• Finally, Windblade's character is gone into a little bit more

You can check out the full details after the jump (but beware of spoilers!) and discuss on the boards!

Chevy Trax Transformers 4 Age Of Extinction Robot Mode Revealed

Posted on 04-19-2014 at 03:00 PM by SilverOptimus under Transformers Movie (Just Movie) (All Transformers Movie News)
27432955d1397935945-chevy-trax-statue-image A new pic (via EvoLife) of an official statue by Chevrolet reveals the possible robot mode of the Chevy Trax.

The robot mode seems to be a mix between the red Kreon which comes with the Transformers: Age Of Extinction Kre-O set "Lockdown Air Raid" and the other Vehicons. On the official Press Release, the red Kreon was addressed as Sideswipe. We currently do not know whether the name is a mistake or a non-movie character. During the principal photography of Transformers 4 and on the recent video by Chevy, the Trax was seen rolling with Galvatron.

The statue was revealed as a promotional campaign by Shanghai General Motors. You can find out more info from our previous News Post.

30 Years of Transformers in 30 Days - 1995

Posted on 04-19-2014 at 12:00 PM by Sol Fury under Generation 1
1995 And so we come to 1995, what would prove to be the final year of the Transformers Generation 2 line. 1995 brought some great new toys, and the return of the Gobots, but even with these new releases, though, the Generation 2 toyline stalled. Planned releases were cancelled, and once again, it looked like the Transformers were going away completely. Meanwhile, the Transformers line was revived in Japan, with a limited release of the new mold Generation 2 toys in new packaging, and other international markets continued onward with more toys that never made it to the US.

DeNA Explains Transformers: Rising Mobile Game

Posted on 04-19-2014 at 06:51 AM by SilverOptimus under Video Games
denajpg DeNA has updated their Transformers: Legends Blog to inform fans about the mobile game Transformers: Rising. Their explanation shoots down the info provided by 2P earlier this week.

The post says:

"Hey guys,

As you may have heard, there's a new DeNA game being developed titled Transformers Rising. We wanted to take a quick moment to address some of the misconceptions surrounding it.

For clarification, this game is being developed by our sister studio in China, and is in no way affiliated with, or a sequel to TRANSFORMERS: Legends.

There are currently no plans for a US release.

There is no beta testing currently going on. Claims of invitation and access to a Transformers Rising beta are completely fabricated for reasons unknown to us.

This game’s development and existence does not affect or influence TRANSFORMERS: Legends in any way. We have heard a few players suggesting that this game’s arrival will mark the end of TFL, and that couldn’t be farther from the truth.

TRANSFORMERS: Legends is running strong with a bright future ahead of it, and we want to make sure that all of our loyal players are well aware of that.

Roll out!
The TRANSFORMERS: Legends Team”
