And the news just keeps on coming. This time we have test shot images of X-Transbot’s Arkose, their take on Beachcomber, spotted by TFW2005 user daimchoc on Transbridge Omegalock’s Facebook page. As seen here this guy appears to be compatible with at least Dr. Wu’s Spike and Sparkplug so there may be hope for the MP-10 and MP-22 figures as well! All in all, this piece is looking pretty good, so here’s hoping the final product looks just as good if not better when it comes out, which is tentatively scheduled for June. Now, check out those pictures and give us your thoughts on this bad boy!

I was actually thinking of painting the bars. I was probably going to do black to match the g1 toy, but with how much they move I fear they would get crazy chipping during transformation
SuperMegaAutobot
i was just thinking about this guy a few days ago and how every time i see a pic of the ft one it’s such a miss. I did the same to my xtb as well as painting the bars silver. It’s still such a great figure, even with it’s quirks.

View attachment 30282709So I actually ended up swapping my fanstoys beachcomber for the xtb. The fanstoys one is well built and all, but the character didn't really come through for me. I am a hasui/classic mp style collector, so hunted down a reissue xtb beachcomber. The cage is not well thought out but easy to treat as a partsforming piece. Painted the rims, bumper and the sides of the arms and he fits in great.

Yeah the "caption" became a bit wordy for this one but I wanted to work in the Newage SG ravage some how lol
Curium
I woud have completely missed the albino if you hadn't mentioned it.

Been having fun with Arkose. He's been sitting neglected on the season 2 Autobot shelf for a while now lol.

Beachcomber: Today we look at the king of Cybertron's wilds. A creature , docile when given its proper respect, is quick to anger when challenged. It's main source of prey the unsuspecting minibot. What?View attachment 29963276
Beachcomber: This week on Planet Cybertron, we have been fortunate enough to discover the den of a family of Cybertronian Jaguar…
These creatures are notoriously difficult to encounter in the wild due to their natural stealth abilities.
(because of this the few domesticated members of this species are commonly used for infiltration and saboteur missions).
Behind me we can see the female and her cubs, the older playfully sizing each other up.. while the younger stick close to their mother. Even rarer one of the cubs is albino…
Now we've seen no signs of the male in the area, hopefully he is far away hunting, but we must make no sudden moves around the den just incase he's camouflaged near by…View attachment 29972530

If you continue this you should pair him with Outback on his jaunts.

I love the shiny green on this figure.
He is sooo shiny. One of my all-time favorite MP's.
I might buy a second one someday.
Girl Pants
I had a very similar issue with my G2 version too. Who did you contact for replacement parts?
Enfin
Good idea. Continue this wil with all beast bots you have

Beachcomber (in best David Attenborough voice): Here behind me we have the last herd of Cybertronian rhino, these majestic creatures once roamed the wilds but now are reduced to these small numbers due to the war decimating our once peaceful planetView attachment 29961389

Well I nearly got a perfect copy definitely the newest version, I followed the advice on this thread and went through all the images carefully to confirm.
Only thing is he's knees are super loose so he sort of balanced there to be able to stand (kinda of like he has dislocated knees) hopefully a bit of floor polish will help.
Quite grateful he was fully transformed after the horror stories I've read on here.
He's actually a lot bigger than I thought he would be, I kept thinking he would be tiny looking at images and comparisons but he a pretty respectable size.View attachment 29300744
All badged up, knees are a little better with the floor polish but it's the pins that are loose, tempted to try and heat them up see if the plastic grips better but doubt it will work. The birds, gun and gold handmade a nice touch but doubt I'll get much use from them, shame his shoulders keep popping up, he has a nice little chilled out cheeky smile on his face.View attachment 29301210 View attachment 29301213 View attachment 29301214
Autobrat Leader
I sold my copy of Beachcomber, but I think he's probably a head taller than ER Cliff and smaller than Siege Sideswipe.
C16
Odd request, but can someone snap a shot of this guy next to ER Cliffjumper or Bumblebee and any Deluxe Autobot car? I know they're different lines but I'm hoping he doesn't look too out of place since the old Legend size one is too small now.

Got him today, infact I unboxed him about ten mins ago.
First thing I was afraid I might have been scammed that box was tiny!
Anyway everything seems fine (havent transformed him yet), except the knees, they are quite loose, I suppose I can fix them, and the left rear tab on the leg, doesnt appear to want to stay tabbed for some reason.
The backpack is not such a big deal guys….From pictures and the discussion I was expecting to see an Mp44 style of hunchback….but its not bad….
I like the metallic green very much and for 60$ he is gonna fill the spot for the "I dont give a shit about this char" just fine.
Ok so…. two issues:
First the light one: I dropped his gun on the floor and apparently the…how to call this? The box is a two parter that the two pieces slot into one another….I thought it broke but no thankfully….IDK if its supposed to be glued or held due to friction, but unless there is a point to split it, I might as well glue it into place.
And now the bad news:
I broke (not sure, but I am 70-30 about it) the rear leg assembly that unfolds to the buggy sides, at the time I transformed him back into robot mode….I was watching a video and to be honest I couldnt understand how the heck you are supposed to manipulate these things….I removed the ball joint from the right, and popped it right it no problem. But on the left…..Well the good news is that even as a partsformer he still stands and shows no sign of breakage. There is also that 30% chance that that piece is supposedly been held up by a screw and that that screw was not long enough…OR so I want to hope, I have zero technical knowledge. At any rate since he is standing and assuming that he will still hold into place transformed if I ever wish to do so, still not a big issue.
I love the colouring and his altmode.

Ill unscrew the opposite section tomorrow and check if the screw goes all the way in.
So I unscrewed it and…I cant really tell whats going on in there
The screw is diffidently not reaching down bottom (or the other part at all), and definitely that… cylinder that looks like broken to me, is two pieces that look superglued together to my eyes…either that or I am a complete idiot and I cant tell solid pieces, and to add insult to injury fate made the cut so clean, as to troll me.
Anyone has any ideas? Friction holds it damn fine still.
In other news:
I may be giving them (XTB) a lot of shit lately for practices I dont approve, but when they do good they do good.
I popped a question to them, if replacement parts are still available for this figure, and the answer requesting pics came within a matter of hours.
I am confident that all the good talk I heard about their after-sales services is good will apply here as well.
Scowly Prowl
Sometimes you don't need to pop them off – some times they pop off on their own, which solves the problem. They are a nice touch – I could see that having them rigidly inserted could cause breakage with the thin pieces that they are.
Tazman66gt
yea, I pop it off when I transform mine too, just easier and less stuff to worry about when you're moving the engine.
pilot00
You can pop it off? Thats good.
Masimoed
The transformation for me wasn't too difficult, it just never felt like it all came together solidly though. Some parts never felt like they tabbed in great. Maybe I was doing something wrong but I did watch a couple transformation videos.
The good thing is that it never felt like anything was going to break. When transforming the rollbars I just took this piece off and put back on as it did get in the way. Hope this helps a little.
