TFW2005 sponsor TFsource just dropped by to deliver some new Warbotron updates for their Bruticus and Computron inspired combiner projects.
The first two updates we’ve received are two figures belonging to their Computron gestalt. Preorders are now open for the next release, WB03-B, or more easily referred to as “Lightspeed.” The next reveal is for WB03-C, better known as Nosecone. These figures are slated for a May and June release. Keep an eye here for more of our sponsor’s preorder listings.
To round out the update, we also have new images of the mini-Shockwave figure that will come with several weapons and accessories for their Bruticus project. This X-ray and gun set will require some assembly as all parts come on sprues.
Join in on the discussion for Warbotron’s Bruticus here, and make the jump to start discussing the newly revealed “Lightspeed” figure.
Staff edit:
BigBadToyStore has put up preorders as well.

Plastikote creme I think. I'll need to dig it out to double check. I am planning on a similar colour in Lightspeed's window too I think, just researching now.
I agree that with them being Cybertronian the scale thing doesn't matter as much as what Defensor would look like and even then alt mode is third mode for me, robot/combiner is where it's at and the priority. I think Scattershot is going to be massive compared to these guys too….he's the same size as MP10 in robot mode so has some substantial extra mass. I dig it.
Regards shoulder restriction it isn't horrific but it isn't amongst the best either.

More restricted arm articulation? I can't decide whether to be frustrated such great looking bots are so hampered in ways important to me, or to be relieved that those drawbacks are going to save me the money I was probably going to spend on them.
Splendic
I agree, but I think it's actually Afterburner who's the problem here.
Had his upper shell collapsed down over the bot just hanging out below it, I think they all would have looked a lot closer.
The saving grace here is that there are no real world Alt modes to compare them to, so scale is pretty irrelevant.
Sentinel
There is a huge disparity between the alt modes there. Damn. The bots look great together and form what I've seen the gestalt should be fine, but the alts are waaaaaaayyyyy off.
Splendic
Thanks!
It's crazy how much smaller LS is than the others (although bot mode is very kibble light).
I wish he had a bit more orange or gold in alt mode to tie him to the others, as they look much more like a team in bot mode. Strafe will certainly make the dynamic pretty interesting with all that red and white.
I'm getting antsy to see a Stunticon!

Can I ask, what type of paint did you use? And what color exactly? It looks great.
Going to paint Speed Wheel as well?
TigerBlade
Yup, here's a few crappy quick phone pics. My Afterburner has been painted up though:
I was lazy and just used Lightspeeds guns on Nosecone's back too instead of digging his own guns out
Splendic
If that's the way you feel about him, don't head over to the Strafe thread!
They look great together. Love it. Very solid figures with PE (or close to) paint apps. These guys are plenty MP for me.
Can I ask you for a favor when you have time? I shot or two with them all in alt mode???
Sentinel
Looking good! I really don't have an attachment to these characters, but the figures are turning out quite nicely and appear to be worth the investment. I'm sure I'll pick them up eventually.
Thanks for the pictures guys.

I tried putting Nosecone onto Bruticus and it was extremely tight. Same with Brawl so it might be an Onslaught issue. Only problem is Bruticus's feet aren't compatible with the Technobot legs, they look to have a longer/bigger connection.
Afterburner (and the Bruticus hand) work fine though.
Fatbot3
Awesome! I'm ordering him and starting Bruticus when I get back from vacation. It will be interesting to how interchangeable everything is. I hope think being able to swap guys out could be huge as it appears by end of year Warbo will have 3 finished combiners.

Cross posting this as it's relevant here too:
Aaaaaand
Boom!
Bicep swivel – check
Same improved quality of Afterburner/Nosecone – check
Only issue is the outward shoulder movement is the weakest of the three which is why I think they've added a further pivot point midway on the arm to give it extra movement outwards. Intuitive transformation too, everyting tabs together solidly and satisfyingly. No stress marks yet, again, and I've put him through a few transformations already. He feels very weighty and solid. Might try my hand at another video and do the full hog.
Impressive.

I have nosecone and he is darn near perfect – no stress marks, tolerances are really good and paint is awesome. I like the vehicle mode as well… if only he had bicep swivels he would have been a 10.
Fatbot3
Didn't add the brick aspect into my calculations. Should have followed my six year old's intuition (he said the car would be more fun). Heading out of town but will likely order him and start Bruticus when I return.
TigerBlade
I'd probably give Nosecone that title. TFS-Express look to have theirs in stock now, got a dispatch email this morning.
Galvatron197
TF source has this figure in stock right now! BBTS will get there's in 10 days.
Galvatron197
This is going to be better than Warbotron B.
Judging from past photos of the main body. Will he have the transformation as fierce attack in combine mode?
Shoulders: Looking at them closely, do you know the same kind of support pegs will be on the back of scatter shot in combine mode?
Warbotron has made a 'big' improvement on nose cone. Anxious to see they maintain and get better! Nice Picture I really dig it.
Fatbot3
vehicle is the worst of three so far but still great. Can't wait for it to come out.

Getting so close to having a badass computron vs abominus display
