This is a cool set but PE's SFX is my definitive Reflector. Those lil guys pack a whollop.

I agree. I've really never had a terrible problem with how small Scouting Force X is. No, it's not my preference, but given all the other positives with the figure (everything, basically), I'm willing to overlook it. It's a damn good set.

And really, who's to say what an appropriate height for reflector is? All of the characters heights are open to interpretation, but Reflectors is even moreso.
If anything I like that it gives the 84-85 Decepticons more height variation as they're comprised almost entirely of really big dudes in my display.

I like Photron, don't get me wrong, but with all the other figures dropping between now and the end of the year and with how happy I am with my current Reflector, they can go really far down the list. All the extra bits and weird panels kind of leave me cold anyway, it's just the sexy alt mode that's got me interested.

One SFX bot has more peronality than these 3 guys put together.

About size? Yes bigger would have been better but ....No, I got nothing bad to say about SFX, these guys stand next to Hercules on my display and they are still the guys that my eye goes to first. Personality, Coolness and Fun Factor for the win.

to be fair, SFX cant really get much better. an upscale version could be useful in a masterpiece lineup, but really even the tiny guys can still pull MP off.

I really like this guy. But not enough that I "gotta have it" at $125.
If they had managed to keep it under $100 I might be more inclined to pick it up, but with all of the other 3P goodness as well as MP Prime coming out in the near future, I'll probably pass.

Am having second thoughts about this set as well. Had the bots looked more like PE's just scaled up I would have been dancin, as is with one bot larger than the rest and missing the aperature on his chest... might be a pass. Will see as the time gets closer for him. I missed out Steel Core and don't want to miss out on this guy if he ends up being better than pics would have us believe.

Really cool. If these dropped during a less congested time, theyd be bought. As is, with MPs and Uranus looming... Ill try and find money for em, but its iffy.

I'd love to see them Photoshopped in G1 colors to see if that makes them any more tempting. As they are now, they just don't have that Reflector feel. Sure, it's a camera, but Browning is also a gun while not being Megatron.

Although I don't see any resemblances to G1 reflector, I still want this!

Like them but don't love them. And the price right now is a turn off.

As much as I want it, I'll likely pass. Better size over the PE stuff, but I'm not sure I like the heads.

This is unrelated to Reflector but Hegemon (Megatron) looks so amazing.

Not bad, but I really don't like how one of them is clearly bigger. Isn't the point of Reflector supposed to be that they're all minions? I don't even have PE's Reflector, but I still think it's a way better realized concept than TFC's.

Like but don't love. It's really sad that something as accomplished as this set likely will become an also ran...

There's SOOOOO much more stuff coming down the pipe that are must haves...unfortunately for TFC, they released this way too late...they needed to have this set out long before we learned of Menasor and Superion and Prediking and all the new MPs...every one of those things take priority over this set...

Day late and a dollar short...hopefully this goes over well in their Asian market...

Not feeling this one. IMO its not outstanding on its own look and also not looking much like the characters so I'm not interested.

Looks pretty fantastic to me. Love the alt mode. If I didn't already have PE's version I would pick this up.

BTW, I think it might be AE-Lock, not Re-lock, it means Auto-Exposure Lock for Cannon DSLRs.

I am really excited for this release. I have the PE one, but I just love the new updated look.... To me, this is a little more Generations style, per previously released figures. Some added reprolabels will REALLY make these shine! I'm already paid for in full on this set as well as the first two Superion figures..... Can't wait!

Perfect Effect's Reflector is leaps and bounds better. Much better detail, more accessories, just overall better.

I just can't get into TFC's offerings.

I'm not feeling this. Got the PE also and I prefer to more G1 look. Also got to save the $$$ for all the other goodies. Sorry TFC...but don't worry, I'm getting Uranus

The ALT mode receives a high score. With 2/3 of them being twins and not all 3, the bot modes are less Reflector like than PE. I applaud the effort and may buy it at a lower price if it goes on clearance like Sonicron and the Impossible Toys Quintesons did.

I agree with the alt mode...1st rate. I do love the realness of it.

I think I might get this set if it ever goes on sale or clearance....but it's definitely an inferior set taken as a whole.

We simply don't judge Transformers product based on one mode alone. We have to take into account robot modes as well as alt modes and other factors. Thus, although this figure has an AMAZING alt mode, I cannot ever deny that...it just doesn't work as a representation of Reflector. Neither of the three bots have any personality and they look generic in a bad way. Accessories are lame and don't really do anything. A shield...a base for the lense...and a pair of guns...? Really. PE Scouting Force X gives us two shotguns, a sniper rifle, a shield, a pair of missile pods, combat knives, a jet pack, and a minigun. The minigun and jetpack can turn into a big ass bazooka, and the aperture in the main 'bot can mount the gun as some kind of crazy chest cannon. Plus, PE Scouting Force X 'bots are all identical, but because of the accessories they get, they pack a TON of personality. Sure they're small, but I think that's part of the charm. They're small but armed to the teeth, and they pose well and look great too.

If I got this set, the shame of it is that I would leave it in DLSR mode for the majority of the time. For 160 bucks I can get a Nikon D70 body used, and I could get a decent lens in the 80-100 dollar range, giving me a real DSLR. With that in mind, I would much rather spend a bit more on a real DSLR and actually learn to use it and do photography, rather than spending 160 on a fake camera with sub par 'bot modes and accessories.

I feel the same as most on this, nice camera mode but the bot modes and accessories are subpar.

I'm actually cool with the bots - they're not Reflector, sure, but they're still awesome. And the alt mode is amazing.

But question: does the DSLR lens transform into... a DSLR lens? If so, that kills the entire deal stone dead for me!

I'm pretty sure that's the case, and I'm in the same boat. Sure, it lights up, but I would much rather have had it break apart into weapons for the guys, or something.

I can only echo what most of you guys have already said. Great alt mode, shame about the bots. I'm genuinely surprised how small they are too, I thought they were meant to be quite a bit bigger. I'd be interested to see what a toon recolour looks like, but even then I still wouldn't bite. Sticking with my custom
