Dear MT Giant, you can now pack up and go home, you have lost.
Sol Fury
Magnificent. Truly an impressive piece.

Now, where the cheese do I put him in my display?
slugslinger2004
I hate that as awesome as that looks, I probably will never own it
46+2
The head! It still looks...weird. It doesn't look centered IMO. it does look good though.

Seconded. This is truly an amazing piece of work and I'd love to have it in my collection, but at $500 its just out of my reach

Maybe he'll trample several other 'bots underfoot and make room for himself

Devastator looks absolutely fantastic, we just need color shots of the whole thing and pics of Mixmaster in robot mode now!

Dude, I'm glad that TFC is releasing them at a two month interval. That's the only way I'll be able to buy this monster. Non-Devs FTW!
Billzilla
Better than I imagined. Actually making it difficult not to buy two.
typev3
Looks good but I still think that I like the proportions, silhouette and overall look of the Maketoy not-devastator

Victorysabre
That glorious piece of awesome will be standing on my shelf facing off with MP Grimlock. It will be sweet.

The release schedule made it possible for me to get the whole thing as well. the break between the last couple will also allow me to get a couple other 3rd party items on my wants list so it's working out rather nicely
bestbuddy09
I don't care what they post of this guy i'm not buying it. $650.00+ is way to much

Where are you shopping cos even the worst I've seen you would only pay $600 max.
deaculpa
Looks better than I expected. Does he still have half a head?
exclusacon
Next time they take the pic, tell them to straighten the head.....Glad Im getting this!.....the steps getting to complete the 86 movie is closer and turning out goregeous.......

You guys still waiting on Giant?
Alucard77
Had to do a side by side with Maketoys, so her it is.

I agree with 46+2 on the head on Hercules.

To me Hercules needs a new head and chest piece. Both look off on it. Luckily it is something that other companies could do rather easily.
Soundwave2
wow, I think I'm finally sold on this guy
exclusacon
You see Alucard77, maketoys couldnt even stand the awesomeness and couldnt be on the post....

The proportions of MT's look really bad when you put them next to each other, then factor in how small it is and it’s just a total pass.

The things we haven't seen with Maketoys is the individual bots and a detail show of the head ... and the price! I like the scale of the Maketoys and how it fits in with the other combiners. Some vehicles on MT look better (Mixer - Herc's looks too long) and others worse (crane is not as well done). I think this one is coming down to price, space, and aesthetics.

I used to like Giant better too, but now that I look at them side to side, Hercules truly is the superior toy.

Though it's still a very nice, (hopefully) cheaper alternative.

This figure is my #1 priority for collecting right now. I have paid for doubles of the first two already. I am hoping the next two will be Hook then Scrapper, then with my doubles I will be able to make a wonky Devestator four months early.

The DOTM junk that's been out this year has freed up my cash thank God! Lets hope the Prime stuff gets a slow start.
Wyvern
Damn, that looks amazing. Bravo.

I'm not liking Giant's proportions. His legs look a little short. And those tiny hands..
friendship pony
they both look great. maketoys looks more G1 and herc looks more updated classics. i wonder what the weapons will look like.
DJW107PRIME
By the maker that thing is awesome he is amazing.
StayingInTheBox
HOW TALL IS HE?! SOMEONE MEASURE IT WITH A PEN!

This thing looks AWESOME. Everything I hoped for.
optimusfan
Hercules looks nice combined. Much more so than the individual bots we've seen so far. However, I still prefer the aesthetics of the MakeToys version. To me it looks more like a classics version of the Devastator toy. They've incorporated a number of design elements from the original toy that are missing on Hercules:

1) Giant's head is situated between Hook's cab and crane.
2) Scavenger and Bonecrusher's treads are located on his shoulders, per the original toy. Although I have to give props to Hercules for the innovative "tread to forearm" transformation, it's not true to the original design and gives him Popeye-esque proportions.
3) It's minor, but I really like the fact that Mixmaster has the funnel for loading cement into the mixing barrel on Giant. Somehow again this is a something that feels "Devastator" to me, like #1.

All that being said, again Hercules looks nice. It's great that we have two good looking version of Devastator coming out and that folks can choose based on price, size, and aesthetic preference.
Stormcrow
Ok.
Its awesome.

Dear Hasbro,

I have noticed a pattern in your financial reports. In the years between movie toylines, your sales tend to drop slightly. I have come up with a way to solve this problem-

Make something HALF as cool as this: *Attaches picture*

Have to agree on the giant and herc debate. I'm prob gonna end up just getting both but I like the look of giants better. It really does fit in with classics better. Although the one thing I'm liking from herc is the articulation looks FAR superier than anything giant can pose as. I hope they prove me wrong but as shown with bruticus, articulation makes these guys make or break for me. I love me some action poses.
maximus_primal
That is so awesome! I wish I could afford it.
sodawilly
I've decided I am not going to get both now. It's Hercules all the way for me. I just love the aesthetic and feel of these boys with my United/Henkei collection.

I love that blocky feel Hercules has. Its like a marriage between the aesthetic of energon and the articulation of classics. The in hand quality is top tier too, that's still unknown for the Giant. If scale matters then Hercules wins there. I know it comes down to personal preference but dollars can colour peoples feelings ( its only Human ).
Burnout
I need a new pair of shorts! I know the pieces are like 100 each but gotdamn that is just f'in spectacular!
wheeljack359
Looks sooooo nice, I am glad I started collecting this set!
Josh
certainly does look impressive!

pity ill never own one

Maketoys has not lost. it's the affordable devastator for those of us who cant afford to chock up $100 every month until november and then February thru April next year. The Make Toys version will likely be just as good for likely just over 1/6th the total price of this version.

This version does look epic, but i'm not willing to set aside the crap ton of money to assemble it by May 2012 when the Maketoys version will be all released at once and out by the same time.
hocksoo
Both MT and TFC Non-Devy looks impressive, classic-look or non-classic look. Whatever. For me, in the end the SIZE DOES MATTER. Will Hasbro or Takara ever releasing a voyager size individual bot that combine into a monster? NO NO NO.

If you already have Bruticus or Superion, you probably will get MT ver. For me, I do not have any of them. I AM DEFINITELY GETTING TFC HERCULES.

For those getting MT, once you see the final product from both side by side, you will regret not getting the right size.

deathsheadII
aaaahhh fuck yes! looks awesome now all have been shown combined!!!!!! epic!
Darkspeed
Although I'm not interested in getting these guys, I can't deny how fucking awesome this thing looks! Can't wait to see the finished product assembled, it's gonna be BIG!
Might Gaine
That pic makes him look very "Pat Lee" puffy. That makes me feel better I don't have $300 to throw at it Still an impressive piece, though.

A price hasn't even been announced for Giant yet. For all we know it could be just as expensive. It certainly wont be 1/6 the price of Hercules.
