TFC Not-Dinobots Combiner In The Works

UPDATE: More pictures have come to light of the individual dinos, all from ACToys. There are CAD designs for the T-Rex, Triceratops and Pterodactyl, plus finished renders of the T-Rex. Click here and here for the original sources. 2005 Boards member ki1983ng informs me that these are indeed intended to be third party Dinobots who can combine to form The Beast, but everything is currently still in the planning phase.

The not-Dinobots name is more than appropriate. Interesting to look at but I can already see I'd never throw money at what this will turn into.
Most of my interest comes from the individual alt-modes since they look like what the Dinobots might possibly look like if Has/Tak had continued doing them under the Classics line. Other than that, everything else is totally different.

Yeah, was thinking they had a Dinozaur-Zoidish aesthetic, which I actually like. Would like to see these in G1 inspired colors or black repainted "lava" schemes to sway me to buy them.

I've spoken to third party peeps about the Dinobots and man, I don't envy them the job. No "update" of the Dinobots has ever worked, just re-release complete homages of the originals with articulation and G1 accurate heads, guns and swords in APPROPRIATE scales.
Don't worry about combining, or reinventing the wheel, being clever with combining weapons or any of that nonsense. Five dinobots. It's all I want.

These look like the KOs they sell in big lots.
Unlike the constructicons the dinobots have iconic looks and I don't see anything remotely similar to their iconic robot modes here.
Still , just concept and nothing solid to see yet. Here's to hoping it turns out well!

the grimlock looks like a BW Megatron. im least impressed with him. but the slag, snarl, and swoop look nice.

wow these guys did a really nice job of making a dinobot transformer combiner, with OUT it being the g1 characters! it looks really neat, and they did a great job of avoiding hasbro's hammer of death! lol

It all depends on if they nail the likeness of the Original character of the Dinobots.
The swoop looks pretty cool but Im not sold on the others.

I agree, they do look like something from Power Rangers. I'm not really too thrilled with these but they may be good for parts to better articulate and update G1 Dinobots "if" they're big enough.
Maybe I miss read it but I could have sworn someone on here not too long ago mentioned a company was working on re-releasing new versions of the Dinobots that were basically reworked versions of the G1's and the first one was supposed to be Slag. Anyone?

Nice. Although calling them 'not-dinobots' is a bit decieving, since besides the animals they form, there's no connection at all to TFs. Look like really nice Robots anyway, though. Alway's a fan of Dino-alt modes.

imho the color identification (ex. red on grimmy n purple on swoop) is a bad idea and if this is paired with him being any smaller than a deluxe its a pass for me. (unless he looks great next to crazydevy of course then its a must have for the battle display )
