TFW contributor Protoman has tweeted a photo of a new accessory scaled for Masterpiece figures. This is allegedly the first in a line of weapons that will transform into energy cubes. We do not yet have any information about who is producing this item, so stay tuned for updates.

Note that this is an unofficial accessory meant to further your Transformers play value.

At first I thought ick but then I realized it turned into a cube, so not bad overall.
deaculpa
I'm confused.

It looks kind of like a giant foam "We're #1" finger. At least it turns into a cube...I guess.
Jehsee
lol... what IS that? I really don't need a translucent Empire State Building strapped to my MP Prime.
Vangelus
If the theme is weapons-that-turn-into-cubes I'm very interested, I love transforming toy lines that add the limitation of everything turning into the same geometric shape (ie: Candroid animals all turning into cylinders)

Oh, Vangelus! If you pick these up, will you do a review of them?
Vangelus
Probably!

I second this.

An entire stack of energon cubes that turn into melee weapons, just sounds awesome.
firehawc_69
Easy pass
Theprimeoflegen
If they turn to energon cubes wouldnt they explode if they were used ?
Cyclonus79
Crap = pass

And if they're sized similar to the cube you get with MP Soundwave

Oh maaaaaaaan
Bountyan
I think I'd actually prefer if these were for classics instead of MP.
Shadowbreaker
I'm interested. Bring it on!
UltraPrimal
This feels so 2008: back when every other third party company was making energon cube accessories. Or perhaps 2004 if Hasbro took the title of "Transformers Energon" in a very literally direction with the toys.

It's exactly that.

By creating a limitation and standard to go by, they push the envelope of what can be done and what can be created (Note how Masterpiece Laserbeak is the same LENGTH, WIDTH AND HEIGHT of the G1 toy and yet engineered amazingly).

It's a new concept with a splash of Superlink's Energon weapons

Yeah...the bar has been raised quite a bit over the last year or two....this just doesn't make the cut in my opinion.

it'll be interesting to see where these go and at what price they hit at.

and how compact they fold up…if they can fit inside the mp-13 energon cubes that's a win.
Galvarez
This is why you don't release images of unfinished products. Because that looks like a dogs dick.

I'm with Vangelus with this one too. I'll be keeping an eye out for these. The price point might be a problem though. Hopefully they can keep the costs down by releasing them in a all in one weapons pack and not just individually.
harrismonkey
the whole point of MP is that it's supposed to be super detailed with limited, more tasteful gimmicks.

These look to be about on par with the Prid voyager weapons. Wow.
ThatOddGuy
Welp, didn't see that coming.

Part of the reason why I think these would be better for classics instead of MP.
down_shift
This sounds... just awful.

...........How would you know how that looks?
Jigga
Not really into blocky energon weapons. If it transform rather it be humanoid like a targetmaster or at least like the Arms Micron weapons, changes into robot or beast.
starscream-99
With all the things coming out this would have to be under $15 for me to want to get this. If they're more oh well. MPs come with good enough accessories as it is.
Wyvern
Lol. What the hell is this? MP figures don't need stuff like that.
Matty
Alright. Im not sure what Im looking at.
soymonk
So... they're the weapon equivalent to Rock Lords?
Atomatron
can not unsee

Yup, bad choice of line.
BScorpinok75
I don't collect MP but if I did I think I'd actually be interested in these
llamatron
Interesting concept but terrible terrible terrible choice of figures/line to scale with.
grimlock1972
if the price is right i may get one for my mp skywarp
G1Jetfire
Megatron's Mace and Optimus Prime's Axe are Energon weapons that already exist in the original MP line. If that is what they are going for with these, it's intriguing. But what they are showing is less intriguing,
b.winn1
Ill probley pick them up I mean I bought energon cubes that turn into nothing why would I not but ones thay turn into something lol.
RedAlert Rescue
It might be more interesting if it was decorated like the Allspark.

They you could call it a"Power of the Allspark weapon".
Vampyr
ho hasbro, look, a good weapon concept....you should try you know
Zer0
It looks like Optimus punched his fist through the bottom of a bright orange scale model of Big Ben and it got stuck on his wrist.
megatroptimus
Goofy at best.
Astronut
I'm a sucker for things that turn into strict geometrical shapes (cubes, "pyramid", cylinder etc), but this just isn't for me.

I don't get it.
