Perfect Effect PE-DX02

Third part group Perfect Effect has updated their website with new colored prototype photos of the Motobot Aranea. This new transforming motorcycle robot, based on various female spider Transformers characters, is an extensive retool of the first Motobot, RC.

Besides the substantial bodywork, Aranea comes with a variety melee weaponry, and based on one blurred photo, a detachable spider drone!

Check out all the photos after the jump, and remember, this is not an official toy, neither produced nor endorsed by Hasbro or Takara Tomy.

I hate that I love BW because I don't want to want this but that is a pretty figure. I like how the legs form a drone spider.

I don't think there's an actual spider "mode" I think thats more of a drone of hers! Looks like all the extra spider leg kibble from her BACK turns into a separate spider drone

nice looking figure but if this is around 100ish like RC bike then no thanks. With so many other better stuff coming I have to prioritize now.

yeah, its the back seat (shield in botmode), the legs, ....whats sticking out the back horizontally?
i wasnt interested until i saw the spider mode, now this is top of my buy list.

I want this but I'm going to have to put it on low priority because I'm already low on funds. I've already started to invest in two combiners and that's like $1000 right there.

Yeah she is in "mid" priority at the moment, with all these other 3P and MP releases I gotta be WAY wiser with my spending habbits!

Do you ever think about how much you'll have spent if you got all the combiners later on?

I'm looking forward to Arachnid. I wonder if PE will lower it's prices. PE RC is still available for $80, not the original $100.

Well this was the last thing I needed to see right now. She looks freakin awesome and there aren't even paint apps yet. I hope they drop the price abit or give us so time to recoup funds. Jan and feb have become my most expensive months for collecting ever.

Probably wouldn't save much compared to buying them right away. The only big ticket 3P item I can recall that got its priced reduced significantly was Hercules, which I didn't buy.

There are some neat things going on with this, and the spider-drone is a nice touch. That being said, overall this figure doesn't do much for me.

what is the inspiration for this? Beast Wars character? I never followed BW, so forgive the noobness of the question. It looks cool regardless. Has a mospeada vibe to it

Really like this more than I thought I would, but I can't justify a $100 repaint of a mold I already have, especially if I plan on getting Menasor.

BW character, but it looks like the deco's more inspired by the TFA version of the character.

Oh dear god that looks amazing. Im in the works of turning the beast wars characters into their cybertronian selves before that series and this is the perfect black arachnia , just a little gold paint touch ups and its done.

Looks great except for the kissy lips. Although that may be a trick of the light or something. In most of the pics that show her face, it looks like she's got huge "O" shaped lips like a model who got too many collagen injections. But in one of them, they look normal.

Also, I hope they release an alternate version at the same time like they did with their original Arcee figure. I'd rather get a BW gold and black version than an Animated black and purple version.

Looks great, but the timing of this puts this at the bottom of the priorities list for me as well. Damn shame too.

Naw, I wasn't talking about delaying your purchase. Rather, are you prepared to get a version of every G1 and Victory Saber combiner at $500/pop?

The pink is a little to in your face bright. Lavender would be better. Or perhaps Gold.

I would like for it to sit well with the other two and also look right with Airachnid and Blackarachnia. if the intention is to make a Pink Spider as well then the pink might match that and work - but perhaps a white spider would be a better idea.

she will need a bit of paint on her helm too, if this is just early work then it's very promising but if the final version is like that it might loose them a few sales.

The design is really uninspiring. Why should I buy this and Not Prime Arcee? See the visual similarity? This is why I really enjoyed the movies-verse designs; Arcee in Revenge of the Fallen looked in my opinion, really, really good - different, original and interesting, a design that sparked talk.
