Perfect Effect have unveiled a redeco of their popular Warden unofficial Fortress Maximus figure. This figure, Guardian, is based on the colors of the Brave Maximus version of Fort Max (or if you prefer, it is homaging Robots in Disguise Fortress Maximus). Two versions are planned – an 800 piece limited edition version launching at conventions starting in June 2014, which will feature special box art. It’s listed as being available at conventions in USA, Canada, United Kingdom, Italy, France, Japan, Singapore – so chances are you will be able to find this at major summer conventions such as TFcon 2014 and Auto Assembly 2014. A regular edition is also stated to be planned for fourth quarter 2014 if you miss out on the convention exclusive version.

How much are they charging as I wouldn't say no to having a correctly coloured upgrade kit.

How much is the original Brave Max Guardian worth these days?

I wouldn't have minded if they'd actually released a Grand Maximus deco of Warden/Guardian and also at least released the Upgrade kit in Black – as I'm rather reluctant to buy another Upgrade kit just to paint it black.

Finally received my Guardian today and I LOVE IT! Got it from BBTS. So fantastic! Love how bulky he is in Super Robot form. very pleased with this purchase.

I never buy repaints. Not even of cheaper toys. I already have Warden. I have Encore Fortress Maximus. I've never even seen a Brave Maximus in person, and know nothing about the character. That said, I've always thought this figure looks many levels more amazing with the Guardian colouring than the Warden colouring, and I've been keeping my eye on it, waiting for the cheaper release, just in case…
So never doesn't mean never any more, and Kapow Toys just took some of my money. I'm hoping I can make some kind of modification to Generations Metroplex to use him as a head, because the colouring will match, and I've seen the Fortress Maximus custom someone made using Warden and Metroplex, so I know the head won't look too big.

Guardian is the one I want, but had bought Warden because he was cheaper (and I had a chance to get him locally instead of online). I will have to move this up my priority list now.

Was on the fence and really thought I would be buying the mass release. Just purchased from tfsource.

I would buy Grand because I love this thing and just would but I can see it being too niche for PE to push if Guardian didn't generate much heat.
Plus it will allow them to get on with Deathstalker………..hopefully. Hint. Hint.

I wonder if this does dampen the possibility of a Grand Max redeco from this mold, given Grand is not dramatically different from Fort and the most eye-popping of the three Max decos is relegated to an (easily found) exclusive.
I've been hoping for a Grand redeco eventually since I want all three. Maybe it'll just be another show exclusive, though with a smaller production run.

Besides the two color versions, I can't really see how this mold can be repainted with third color as for which character.

Makes me wonder just how well Warden himself sold?
Rahvin
Curious decision.
With the amazingly positive reception of this mold, I would have expected PE to milk repaints for all they're worth.
Maybe actual sales weren't as good as the reviews? I understand lots of people were put off by the altmode; maybe that described more of the market than I thought.

Lol, no way!!

Now let me be your friend and help you sell that exclusive for TONS of money!!!

That's what good friends do, help eachother spend all their money on plastic action figures!

For whatever reason the Con Exclusive nature of this didn't make it volcanically hot and it's on deep discount at Kapow so PE probably listened to some feedback on that and decided there wasn't the desire for churning out any more. Odd, but clearly the case.
