Thanks to fellow board member, daimchoc, for finding these new images of WB-03D (Strafe) on Weibo’s site; Warbotron WB-03D.
WB-03D (Strafe) is Warbotron’s take on G1 Strafe, and joins WB-03A Turbo Ejector (Afterburner), in their ongoing take on the genius combiner, Computron. WB-03D is roughly the same height as Turbo Ejector, and also seems to be able to form his own flight stand using his sword!
WB-03D (Strafe) will be joined later down the road by fellow team members WB-03E Scattorshot and WB-03C Nosecone.

This guy is in-stock at BBTS & TFSource and is expected to arrive at TCP the week of December 28th.

usually 2 weeks after.

Besides Chimungmung is any store in the 'states' getting him any time soon?
jrhudson
Last I heard is this Friday at Chimungmung.

Has anyone heard an update for this?
Geterman
That's great news. I hope he comes with a chest shield for Computron
jrhudson
looks like Strafe is coming into stock at Chimungmung on Nov 27th. State side release shouldn't be too far behind.
Rejoice nerds!
Galvatron197
Thanks
From watching the video test shot of him. I speculate the delay may be warbo wants to make the plastic thicker on the wings. Also some stores got this figure a month early. Fingers crossed for October.

ActionRobo said late October/early November.

Any news on the release date?

I hesitate to jump on a thread just to be negative but … speaking as someone who has been on the lookout for a Strafe update for years, and who passed on Quantron because I'm not really interested in owning *all* the Technobots, this is still an easy pass.
To my mind, Warbotron figures have a stock look to them that really obscures the individual characteristics. They're blocky and over-detailed, and seem to deliberately tone down those aspects of the characters which are most memorable. Visually, Strafe, for me, is defined by massive orange/yellow guns, flared rocket legs, tailfin feet and a bright red face. This figure really only puts one of those things front and centre – the tailfin feet are there, but feel almost apologetic. There's also nothing in the extra detailing that looks reflective of his personality. He looks confident and mean instead of nervy.
Splendic
This.

I understand the alt mode criticism because there are a lot different directions that could go. That said, the bot modes continue to look phenomenal and between that and the gestalt there's plenty to love about Computron.
Galvatron197
short sighted
Talking about overall design makes thr figure sleek.
If you can't see that no hope for you lol.

Oh, I know that. I own Quantron already.
I actually have no stake in this project, just that that word usage in particular just made me call him out on it. It's just really nothing of the sort.
IMO, even the G1 toy is "sleeker" than this. Yes, the alt-mode is proportionately narrower, but it's also thicker. The robot arms are just laying over the top in a really inelegant fashion, unlike the G1 design's round shoulders making up some sort of generator pods or something. And all those wing hinges just look plain terrible. Thus broken up, they read less as wings and more as space debris tentatively grafted to his sides and trailing off him.
I'll actually be leaving now, as it feels like I'm starting a fight over a project that I don't care about, over a rather unecessary jab.

It's a sleeker interpretation of the G1 design, which basically was just his legs collapsing downwards with his arms by his sides. Yea it's basically their Airburst design reskinned, but at least they slimmed the alt mode body a bit, and maintained the majority of the original G1 design cues.
If you were expecting super sleek, ie. a unique interpretation that deviates from the source material, then you'll probably appreciate Quantron more. That hasn't been Warbotron's direction with this line.

*shrug*
Still not seeing it. Vehicle mode is just him doing his best turtle impression with his arms behind his back. There's nothing about that wing design that says "sleek", "well-designed", or "elegant" in my eyes.

My definition of Sleek
Object definition: I mean having a elegant well designed bot mode. Also a articulated suave collaboration of color apps bring this figure to life. In clear terms a lot of thought has been put into this figure. I believe this is the designers favorite piece in my opinion

Your definition of "sleek" is entirely different than mine…
