New Images of TFC Toys Rage of Hercules Set and Not-Reflector

New images have surfaced of the last release for TFC Toys' monster combiner figure, Hercules. The Rage of Hercules set will come with forearms, shoulder extensions, a "rage" face and a new rifle. Shown in these new pics from the weibo page of jeffyzhong are Hercules with the Rage set, showing how the set makes the figure a more accurate representation to the character he is based on. Also from the weibo page of TFC Toys themselves are the Rage set, Iron Army and new prototype pictures of their take on Reflector.

Take a look at the images after the break!

still dont know how i feel about their version of reflector, but the herc upgrades look great!

looks like it really helps give that left arm so more lateral articulation
sarnian1979
Reflector looks pretty cool, don't like how one is so much larger than the other 2 though, and I've just received my PE Reflector anyway who is super cool.
G.I.EDDIE
Whether or not I pick up reflector depends heavily on his cost...he's just not a "gotta have it!" figure where price is no object...
StayingInTheBox
Easy pass on the Reflector set. I'm more than happy with Perfect Effects. The add on for Hercules seems to be a must buy for me though.
megatroptimus
I feel like that Rage set is a downgrade kit.
CankleBreaker
I just want the gun.
NothingHead
They might not be the same size, but don't forget that unlike the PE version, none of them are small enough to get lost in the carpet

I'm on the fence as well; can't justify the cost of PE and I hate the scale, but these guys don't look like Reflector and the unevenness of their size bugs me too..
Stygian360
I agree with others that having one member of the Reflector triumvirate who is a different size is weird. Why go the G1 homage route if you're going to change things up so drastically? I always thought part of what made Reflector cool is that all three characters were literally a "reflection" of each other, in size, color, etc.
mfic99us
I wasn't into this upgrade at first since I was so impressed with the treads turning into the forearms, no kibble, but the articulation it adds just looks awesome!

Any word on pricing yet?

It's been on robot kingdom for months for $30
and bbts for 50.

Now what did they do to upgrade the heavy labor hips to get those kick poses...
Grimlock_13
Damn that Rage set is looking mighty tempting, just for the shoulder extensions alone. I've never seen the appeal for the rage faces...they just end up looking like Devs is in the process of having a sharp metal stick shoved in his ass.

Easy pass on Reflector...PE's looks A hell of a lot better and came out a LONG time ago.
Gundamben831
well these sets look amazing and I can't await the arrival of the Herc rage set as well as the Iron Army sets I really can't wait for those to release.

unless you haven't swapped out the replacement hips I can only think of that being your problem, once I swapped out mine it made worlds of a difference

See here's what irks me about this. Hercules was a $600 investment for a lot of people. This add on kit fixes all the aesthetic issues I had with him. Bonecrusher looking like a tractor instead of a bulldozer in combined mode is one example. However in order to achieve this, imo, better look you have to throw down another $50. For $600 these should have been included through out the 6 guys as optional accessories.

Don't get me wrong though, because if I were to score a Hercules set for an insane price like $450 or $425 I'd nab the set because I could justify the extra $50 at that price.
deathsheadII
really not into that rage face i think G.I.EDDIE's rage face is better but getting more and more tempted by the rest of it but its the price for it that sort of puts me off £36 with shipping from robot kingdom or £26.80 on ebay just seems a bit pricey for what it is
MegaMoonMan
Seems stupid of them to release that Reflector, I thought they had wisely given up on it.
kibble
So does this set actually have a new head, or just the new grimmace face?

Forward and back yes.. Side to side no.
And you need the side to side to get kicks.
bcm77
Easy pass on both as I'm not fixated on the G1 Devastator configuration to the point where everything has to be the same on Herc and I prefer PerfectEffect's Reflector.

Both!...woo-HOO!

Did they take a couple of the purple handguns and make the chest shield bigger in a couple of those pics? That doesn't look too bad

I was about to say. You would have had to do absolutely NO looking around to only grab it for $600. I grabbed my set for $475 shipped. So I will def be getting the rage set.

And for those wondering, this should be what the set comes with:

Transbot90210
I'm still not fond of that Reflector set. The ONLY thing is has on SFX is size.

That Rage set is as good as bought. Does wonders for an already fantastic set.
NothingHead
^ I agree, but don't forget that for a lot of people the increased scale might mean increased value-for-money... Provided TFC Reflector isn't priced through the roof..
Girl Pants
So, I noticed that they have Dr. Crank's crane hanging off the back in some of those pics. Can that be done already? Never really tried it.

Really wish those add-on parts had somewhere to go when seperated. Would have been great if they turned into guns and such like the FP Bruticus parts. As such, I've got interest in them. I like the treads as forearms. If they sold them seperately, I might have been interested in the shoulder-extenders just to give more articulation.
kibble
So is the new head pictured in these pics? I see the grimace face, but I'm not really noticing much of a diff otherwise...although the far away pics aren't helping matters any. I kinda figured if they were doing a new head, they'd do the G1 receding hairline look.
Computron34
Made a VERY rough MSPaint comparison between the original Hercules head and the newer head the comes with the Rage set. Just for reference. This is using the prototype head from the solicitation, so it could have changed a little.
Timesynch
Previously I always felt that Herc's proportions seemed a bit "off"; too lean and lanky in combined mode, even if his design was based on the IDW comic version of the character. But with the Rage set add-on, he looks absolutely beast and his proportions are much more intimidating and hulking, rather than lean and lanky. That he looks more G1-accurate is a huge plus too.

As for their not-Reflector, still not sure what to think of them just yet. I can appreciate the very realistic-looking alt mode and the bigger size of the bots in general (to better fit in a mixed MP/3P display), but Viewfinder being bigger than Spectro/Spyglass is a bit of a turn-off along with the relative assymetry of their designs. Not too G1-ish there but I suppose that may be the whole point of this release.

I still like PE-11 Scouting Force X better for a G1 design standpoint; it's just their smaller-than-Legends size that makes them fit better in a Legends or G1-Revoltech display rather than in a Classics much less an MP/3P display. Will have to wait and see on TFC's effort.
Tiller
I still don't see what this does for the set outside of make it more "geewun," which it fails at due to not fitting the figure's atheistic at all. The more IDW take really clashes with the random arms, and without the tread arms he looks more awkward rather than more accurate. Plus it just creates too much junk that isn't used in any other mode.

Its nice to have options, but this just seems like spending even more money on this thing to make him look worse. Again, my opinion.
seali_me
Computron34

Thanks.

That set is as good as bought just for that head!
Computron34
No problem. I had been meaning to make a comparison thing for the head, but kibble's comment just pushed me forward. plus a boring day at the office today.
CodeXCDM
...if Perfect Effect made their not-Reflector the same size as the TFC one... that would be AWESOME. Not really interested in the TFC version tbh.

Damn... I want the Iron Army now... can't wait for it! >_<
GinoPuppy
I'm liking the rage upgrade, more and more (not the head, but the extra bits).
the gun looks great, is it going to be black or purple? looks black in the pics, but it could just be prototype test molds. i'd prefer purple, but black is fine. i like the original way the arms transformed, but this add-on gives him a semi-symmetrical look, and it works.
i love the way he looks. Reflector is an auto purchase for me. i want a big reflector, not a tiny one. granted i got the pe set, but they are like a mini scout set for this reflector. I don't mind the size difference, so long as they get the colors right. besides he always seemed like one mind shared between the three. (i know they were separate, but i always felt that way).
Computron34
And I guess if I would have looked hard enough, I would have found the TFSource comparison photo on their site. Oops. Here ya go:

clankizle
I keep telling myself I am not buying that reflector and I am perfectly happy with P.E. but I have a feeling that will end up on my shelf.

LMFAO... that shit looks ridiculous.

I wish companys would stop treating classic TF faces as if they have "lips". It never looks anything better than fucked up.

As for TFC reflector... I'm completely content with PE's version... I think it'd damned near perfect... but as a photographer, the face that they modeled the set after actual DSLR bodies is tugging at my heart strings, so I gotta' get it. It's about as close to a TF being made for me personally as doing one after my car.
DavidLoPan
Ughgh. His arms are too far apart from the rest of his body now. Looks pretty lame.

Agreed. When I get the set, he most definitely will not have the rage face on the new head.
Zress Tayasu
what exactly is the point of this? to make it more GEEWUN? but isn't that what giant is for, having a GEEWUN looking 3rdp devvy? (and don't go giving me the color crap. I'm talking structure and I seem to recall giant is being made in green too.)

Yep. That's the rout I'm going. I dig how the seperated shoulders make him look more anime' built though... I dig it a LOT.

I think the point of it is to give people who own it more of a G1 OPTION, as in the OPTION not to buy it if you don't like that look.
stevil33
Rage kit ordered time ago, cant wait to get it just to add 'options' to ol Herc......although I think his original no arm kibble tracks as forarms is the no.1 winning combo.

It's actually an official TFC photo that TFsource borrowed...

Agreed, his forearms need to be moved in closer to his body

The point is for people who prefer Hercules over Giant, to have their Hercules look more G1...pretty much, the set has nothing to do with giant at all...
seali_me
Yup that set IS for geewuners. No doubt about it.

My generation IS the reason why we even have transformers. You kids can play with shellformers (beast wars) all you want.

I'm all for a G1 looking turd party devastator.

If there are no lips, how is devastator suppose to kiss?

Sorry no, all I can see is this

That face looks comical...

...and just noticed the toothbrush. Awesome!

Oh I dunno.....maybe Giant is too small for some? Maybe even some ppl don't wanna buy two Devys!! Crazy shit I know.

For those with Herc who want him more G1 this is pure win.
