And arriving on sight to clean up the ruckus caused by a certain Speedster, we have what appears to be renders of an upcoming take by Mastermind Creations, Studio Ox inspired Hot Spot, Maximus Pro! The renders, were spotted by TFW2005 member godotislate, and were located on Ocular Max’s website. Ocular Max appears to be the subline, or perhaps the name for the group of Mastermind Creations’ designers who are focusing on bringing designs made by Studio Ox designs to life in toy form. Now go ahead and check out the pics, and discuss this latest iteration of Hotspot after the jump!

Sure, but I'm thinking as an a la carte system, if people who own MMC product X, why not set up a system where the customers can buy a head from MMC product Y?
solskjaer
I do believe as MMC seldom/never asks for proof of purchase before providing replacing parts, it is not their intention to sell part purely for any profit, the policy is there to make requesting replacement parts easier for all buyers/owners.
crdavismusic
I have to wonder, earnestly, why not? It would be an easy profit for them and be able to satisfy a really large number of fans who might like to swap parts.
solskjaer
MMC have excellent customer service, and in fact, they offer free repair for broken figure if you live in China. There is no harm to ask if they can sell you a toon head even if you don't plan to buy the figure. Just tell them the truth and see how it goes. Good luck!

Or try to match paint for the head, which was my intention. It is the sculpt I don't like about the toy head.
David Hingtgen
As mentioned above—-MMC will usually happily replace broken parts if available—-but will not sell you parts of a figure you don't own to mix-and-match.
And the reds are different (or at least, are intended to be, barring factory issues) between toon and toy version. So even if you did get a head—there'd be a small mis-match in colors. If you're gonna swap, you pretty much need to swap the entire alt-mode "shell" if you want it to really look "right".
impossiball
you've never dealt with X-Tranbots, have you?
Gaius Freeman
I'm assuming an eventual reissue.
godotislate
Depends. They are pretty amenable to providing replacement parts, whether for free as part of after care or for a fee plus shipping if you break or lose a part down the line. But my understanding is that they don't sell parts to people who just want parts, though I haven't ever made a request myself. So it may just depend on how you word your request and whether you need to provide photos.
But that's with the assumption that they have the parts available. It's been a couple years since Medicus was last in production, so it's completely possible they don't have any parts for him available right now (and won't until toon Medicus gets a re-release).
I had previously considered buying a toy Medicus to do a head swap with the Medicus I have, but from what we've seen in photos, the reds between the two versions are pretty different and look like they will clash.
Gaius Freeman
Alright, MMC, you broke me. Navigant is on the way.
Does anyone know if MMC is willing to sell parts? I would like to pick up the toy Medicus, but throw a toon head on it.

I usually laugh any time people use words like worried, scared, fear, nervous, etc. when speaking about things that are a problem to them.

and "paranoia" lol

I usually laugh any time somebody uses words like worried, scared, fear, nervous, etc. when speaking about plastic toys.

Oh I was just pointing out people's paranoia has gotten a little silly is all. I understand why they're worried but mmc's been very thoroughly iterating and testing Ignis and all the test copies have rock solid ratchets so I've no reason to be concerned about the main joints.
Ironically no one seems to be worrying about the actual aspects of ignis that might be problematic, like his extremely tight knee joints for transforming to truck n torso mode and how some of the steps are a bit unintuitive like the unusual little L piece on his sides you have to be mindful of as you move his bits around. But the factories been iterating on that stuff last few months, revising the shin locks and cab lights and whatnot so hopefully the productions work better in those areas.

Look I don't want to start a brand war but this isnt xtb. Ive seen enough proof in my time collecting mmc to feel confident that when @LazyAza says its "funny" his intent was more in the sense that they learned with bruticus and they have the situation in hand. I mean seriously what do you hope to accomplish at this point saying "well garsh i hope the knees are ok"? This thing is basically on its way out the door(from my understanding). Like i mentioned ealier, if its a concern, wait it out. Dont buy unless you're also confident.
Furb
Even with weak knees you can get a figure to stand and hold a pose, just need to find that balance point

I mean listen, you can tell me there were a bunch of flawless Incursus runs, but all I know is that mine has trouble standing up in combined mode. I'm happy to see evidence this one won't be that way, but until the full combiner is out, there's always gonna be some fear in the back of my head — and honestly even then it might take actually having it in hand. If that's "funny," feel free to laugh I guess.
Dpuff
The guy said he thought it was funny bc obviously they are confident. These guys are still pretty widly available. The rationale you use in your response about being worried is easily solved by waiting.

There was no suggestion of impatience, just someone saying they hope there aren’t issues.
